BB Storm :: Can't Create A BIS Account
Apr 7, 2011I have just renewed acount with Vodafone and they have included Blackberry Email and I have received a confirmation text from Blackberry saying that my handheld has been registered with the wireless network. However, when I try to create a BIS account I get an error message which says that "PIN is already associated with an account". I have tried different User Names and Passwords but with just the same result.

Sep 26, 2012When I go to setup/email to set up a new account it asks me to log in. At first, I thought it was that I had the wrong password. Then I asked to have my password sent to my email. The device gave me a message that the email had been sent successfully. I never got the email. I have tried more than once.

Feb 5, 2010I have been using my Storm for about a year now and really like it. I was looking for a way to filter emails. I found the add filter in my email set up but could not figure out how to use it. I also searched these forums for answers but found partial help. Some posts talk about using their BIS account. On my BB i just set my email up and it works fine. I use google apps. gmail that my work set up. In that account i have filters that move my emails to labels. On my storm these same emails come through. My questions are:
1. can i use the built in filter on the BB? to filter my gmail? if so how?
2. why would i want to set up a BIS account? what are the advantages?

Jul 23, 2011I just got a friend's old blackberry storm. Their email account is still on it, but isn't active with the device. The icon for it still shows up in the menu. Under the email options it doesn't show up. I cannot figure out how to get the account to completely go away.

Apr 26, 2010I hit send Host Routing Table like it said at crackberry(DOT)com/blackbery-101-lecture-11-bis-email-basics But when i try and make a new account with ATT it says it cannot find it on the list.. So i try the Verizon one, and it says its already been registered. Well i bought this 9530 used, and ive unlocked it, and running ATT on it. So what do i need to do? Dont i have to have this working to get the Blackberry plan to work on my account with ATT?

I read all the messages about passwords being "incorrect" which affects validating email accounts and this is my problem. I have done the same thing: changed passwords, tried logging in through the computer and showing the password so i know its correct etc. I have even waited hours before attempting to validate my email again.

May 31, 2010Have used my gmail accounts on my BB for years without problem. Recently , I changed the password for one of my accounts and since then I have been unable to access this account via BB. I went in to Set up, email settings & entered new password & I get error ("Invalid email address or password. If error persists contact gmail") Tried deleting the email account on BB & entering as a new account, error still comes up. Went to gmail to authorize Applications & sites, requested a password, entered it twice. Once with spaces & again without spaces. Still get the error.

Aug 21, 2010I've been searching for a couple hours now. Nothing exactly helping my problem I'm using at&t. Just got browser, etc. Trying to set up my bb email/set my yahoo email on my bb. I read the bb email basics writeup, said you have to do it on your bb browser to set it up first. Went to the at&t page, then it said to do the options-adv options-host routing table-register now. Did this several times, nothing happens, still can't get on the at&t email page.

ID or Password" then I try on my computer and I can log in, so there's nothing wrong with my ID and Password. Then I try another Messenger application like Windows Live and Google Talk but they said similar sentences. After all of that I try to add my email at setup/email settings but still I can't add my email too using my blackberry. oh ya! i try to log in with my browser on my blackberry too but I still can't login. Then I ask my friend and try to log in using my friend e-mail, my friend can login without any problem. After that I have initiative to make a new email and I did but when I log in using my blackberry I can't.

Jun 9, 2010The new message indicator on my phone is always showing on my GMail account even when there are no new messages when I unlock my phone. However, if I open the email account (and find no new messages), and then close it to go back to the home screen, magically the icon has disappeared. A fix, right? To maneuver around this problem I simply forward all my emails from my University account to my Gmail which I can receive on my blackberry. My listed email accounts include my Gmail account, but the text is red and it says "Invalid Account. All I had to do was re-sign my contract for another two years. Gonna miss my Storm 1 but the Storm 2 is sweet! Just got it today. Anyone wanting to upgrade, try using that excuse.

Feb 11, 2010Has a Storm and it just shut off on. When I pull the battery, the red light comes on for a few seconds and the screen and buttons light up. Then, it starts over. 20 minutes later and it's still in that same cycle.
It's rocking Verizon's official 5.0 and she doesn't do anything to modify or hack it. I've never encountered this before.
I'm wondering if the OS became corrupt, but we're @ Red Lobster and there's nothing I can do now.

Since then I replaced my battery and the phone came on with the clock and then the screen showed up. and could not do anything. Then the screen went black. Now when I try to recharge it only a green light appears and nothing else. Did I kill my battery and is the phone no longer good or it's just my screen and i can replace it.

I have no problems doing the manual activation to allow me to make and receive calls. However, I cannot register my phone to get my data usage set up. After hours of troubleshooting over the phone with Verizon, they've some up with the conclusion that I have to be in the US, and on the Verizon network to register the phone. I have always been on the global data plan. So, basically right now I'm with a smartphone that has zero smartphone capabilities. is another way to get this phone activated.

The only way to fix it is to use quickpull. Which i have set to re-boot everyday at 5am.. Could my battery be going bad or what?

I'm trying to set up email but atm its only giving me the option for setting up work email account with a BB enterprise server - I just want to set up a normal email account using my normal hotmail account but i cant get any further along as it asks for my enterprise activation password - which i obviously dont have?
Also - a few friend have gien me their pin so i can add them on BBM, i type the pin and it says contact pending but the person/s im trying to add get no notification that i'm trying to add them - we try it the other way with me giving them my pin and get the same result WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
