BB Software :: Downgrading To Earlier Version Of Device?
May 9, 2011I upgraded the device software on my Curve 8520 today to the 5.0 Bundle 1626 version and I really don't like it. I tried to do the downgrade to my previous software wirelessly but the phone isn't giving me the option...can anyone walk me thru doing the downgrade using my desktop software?

Mar 30, 2010Just purchased an iPhone 3G for my wife. I have it Jailbroken fine, but I now need to unlock it to use it on another network. From my very limited research it appears that there is not a way to do that now.
Is there a way to 'downgrade' the phone to an earlier version so I can do that or am I stuck waiting for the Devteam to come out with a solution?

Mar 13, 2012I have an i-phone 3GS and a 56 Plate Ford Fiesta with factory fitted bluetooth audio.This is a Nokia bluetooth but has allowed me to call hands free with this phone and previous i-phones and other brands with no problem.I upgraded to iOS5 and I can now not make calls through it.If I press call, the radio says 'dialling but the ringing tone and when someone answers just goes straight back to the handset and not through hands free which makes it redundant in the UK. I rang Apple and asked how to go back to a previous version of software that does work but was told Apple staff were not allowed to tell me how to do this.His only other suggestion was that I buy a new car which wasn't massively helpful or practical.
I have seen quite a few messages on the internet of people having this sort of problem after they upgraded.Does anyone know how to go back a previous version or how to get bluetooth back working with my car as I quite like the iOS 5 update it's just no good if I can't use it in car.? I've tried deleting and re-pairing but that hasn't worked. Does anyone also know whether Apple have picked up on this bluetooth compatibility problem and whether they are planning on doing anything to fix it as it does seem to have affected a lot of people and if it can't be resolved I'll just have to stop using i-phones and go to another manufacturer as it's not helpful living in a country where you to have hands free and then not being able to do that because a software update prevents it.

An update for the standard iPhone music app loaded recently, and my radio is no longer able to communicate with my iPhone. Could the music app update have caused this? If so, is it possible to revert back to the previous version?
I have linked other devices to the radio to rule out the chance that the radio is the problem. I have also done a hard reset on both my iPhone and my radio. Before the update, my radio recognized the iPhone as an iPod.

May 29, 2010I have just received a "Blackberry Bold 9700 Unlocked International Version" which i purchased from Amazon.Com. "This is supposed to be a new unbranded unit".
The installed software version is 5.0.0.351 with platform 5.1.0.98 and branding version 1.0.160.529q.I have read in this forum that there is a later version of the os available yet when I utilized the BB desktop software updater, it say that the latest version is installed. Is this correct?
I also have other issues with applications. I am unable to download and install the "BlackBerry APP World"; I get a message, " Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry App World"
"Google talk" give an error messag: " Service not enabled for this hand held" "Blackberry maps" are not loaded on the handset.Setup wizard does not give me the option to set up my personal e-mail only enterprise e-mail.I am able to browse and send and receive MMS & SMS messages.
Kindly advise as to ho to resolve these issues and whether there is a more current software version for the handset, and if so: how do I update it.

I didn't like the theme so i deleted it, and now all of my Media applications are on my home screen and i am unable to move them or do anything with them, i've tried re-booting. My contact's has "birthday" field given and it seems that systems automatically inserts these as activities. i.e. If one person has birthday on 22.07.2012, it shows on 21.07.2012 calender!

Jun 12, 2011I find that if I text someone and we reply several times that after a 4-5 replies that the message then refuses to open. It starts when it won't let me scroll up to read earlier messages within the chat, then if I go back to my inbox and try to open the message again it won't open at all. If I try to start a new message to the same person it won't let me text them and I need to delete the message before I can. That can be a problem if I need to keep the text for some reason.

But when I click on the calander it shows me the correct today date "19-Mar-2012".
