BB Pearl :: Does Not Play A Sound When Receive A Text Message?
Oct 26, 2011I just updated to the 6.0 bundle and now my pearl does not play a sound when I receive a text message. The option to even change the tone it is supposed to play is gone out of the menu. I have tried restoring and re installing the software and resetting the device numerous times. Sometimes it will come back for a short amount of time then disappear again. I also get the error message uncaught exception:java.lang.nullpointerexception from time to time. Anyone else have this issue know of a PERMANENT fix? I am ready to throw it under a moving vehicle.

-I have tried both mp3 and wav formats
-Placed them in the root directory of my microSD card and the windows folder on my phone itself.
-I don't have a visible application datasounds folder on my microSD card, which is the only other location I have read that I should put them in. (I have tried to show hidden files)
The problem is I cannot get any of the files to show up to select them in Message Settings > Notifications > New Text Message > Example.mp3

Feb 24, 2010I have not abused this phone nor has it gotten wet. I've tried two different batteries and two different chargers and it still yields zero response. Not even a charging light when i plug it in. I literally put it in my pocket while it was fully functioning, took it out an hour later and it was off.
