Mar 27, 2010I have an 8100 series T-Mobile Blackberry. It went swimming a couple of months ago, but after drying the phone out in a bag of rice for 2 days, it started working again. After that, I began having intermittent problems with the backlight...sometimes it would grow very dim to the point that it would be difficult to read the screen, other times it wouldn't work at all even though the phone was powered up. Eventually it stopped working completely and I got a new 8520 from T-Mobile which works great.However, I desperately need to retrieve some old text messages that are stored on the 8100. They are going to be used in a legal case (if I can get to them) and I need to get them quickly if possible. Is there a way to do this?

May 11, 2010I have 50 or so saved text messages on my phone that I suddenly need to get printed out to give to a conflict resolution specialist in 14 hours- who knew this would happen?I can't seem to find a way to do this other than to individually send them to my email- one at a time.There's no way I have the time or the sanity to do it this way and I'm thinking that there MUST be a faster, easier way to do this.Any suggestions?

Jan 8, 2010I have messages that i am sending and recieving but once i come to school, they all delete for some reason. Once they are all deleted, i send acouple of message but when i check my message log, they are deleted again when i check. I know its not that my memory is full. I just got the phone and i dont have many files so thats not the case. Ive seen one come in because i was staring at my phone and saw i recieved a message butt right away it got deleted along with the messages i had there. i dont no if everytime i roam for a bit they delete or what but it is very strange to me.

Apr 14, 2010I have a Blackberry Pearl 8100, it's started erasing my messages and call logs. When it starts doing it, it will delete messages before I even have a chance to recieve them, or read them. It will also freeze up while loading some applications.I've checked my memory and it says I have 11379836 bytes free. I have a memory card so the only things saved on the phone are the defaults and one picture. The only way to fix the messages thing is to take the battery out for a few minutes but it ends up doing it four or five times within a day.

Jun 15, 2011My phone died after a weekend away from home. When I charged it back up all the texts had been deleted but one. I then noticed that I could no longer get text messages. I tested it out with a friend and I can still send texts out, I just can't recieve them. I tried taking the battery out for a while.

Oct 22, 2012I have a BB Pearl 8130 and I'm having problems. Phone is very slow/flaky sometimes, sometimes I don't get text messages that people tell me about later, if it's busy thinking it won't ring when somebody calls, and then the caller ID doesn't always work. (That especially happens when I've just disconnected from the computer.)
I have plenty of free memory and pull the battery about once a day. Last week I reset, reprogrammed, and reinstalled the OS. But I'm kinda suspicious because I didn't lose my preferences/options for most of the programs that I reinstalled, and that makes me wonder if it wasn't thorough enough.

That worked fine. However, using Calendar as an example, the next sync tried to delete all calendar entries from some point in 2009 and prior. The only option when selecting them is to delete, which removes them from the conversation threads. It doesn't seem to be related to service, but to whether I am using the phone for any other purpose at the time.
2) When connected to a car BT system, shut off car, BT seems to go into a black hole. You can't reconnect, can't make a call (well, it makes a call, but you can't hear anything; can't play music, etc.). The only solution is reboot. This happens with multiple systems in different brands of auto, so not limited to one brnad.

A single message may be broken up into seven or eight individual messages, which most often are not even in the proper order when received, or sent. Most text messages on other phones are one block.

Sep 6, 2010I just got my hands on an old Blackberry 8100 (OS4.2.1.96)Sadly, I'm almost certain that this phone won't be able to run 5, but while I was in high school this was my favorite phone and I recently just received one..for free. The phone's trackball doesnt work(clicking the trackball scrolls up), and the volume up doesn't work either. I'm not really going to use the phone as cellular device, but I would rather just have it on my desk as a souvenir...in working condition as a backup.So I've decided to buy a new housing for it, probably fixing the trackball problem, and then this is where I'm not sure. Would the new housing fix the volume bar problem also? Or would I have to actual replace parts on the phone?

Jun 23, 2011I recently discovered that when I scroll down to look at my old text messages, a lot of them have turned into drafts and when I click into them, all the texts are gone. I have also noticed that there are the occasional text messages amongst the green ones that I can read. I suspect that this has to do with the fact that I have saved those messages in a folder.
My phone is running on OS 6.0.0.448, could this have something to do with it? My phone did not originally come with this OS system as it is a Bold 9700. In my message settings, my messages are set to be kept forever. And my validity period is set to Max. I also use this phone with 2 different numbers and sim cards in different countries. Could this have something to do with it?
