I have recently had my blackberry stolen so I rang up my sevice provider which is Vodafone to lock the phone to prevent others using it. However, I just discovered you can GPS track your mobile and when I checked the staus of my mobile it said active. So I was wondering will i have to unlock my phone and then try and locate it by using GPS

The phone works great but it doesn't make connection with the network for internet (Wi-Fi works fine). On "My Phone" Menu I checked the "Mobile Network State" and shows "Disconnected".

If I set out of office on using outlook, the automatic replies will only work until I check mail on the blackberry then after checking mail the out of office is ignored and no automatic replies are sent until I turn off out of office replies then re enable them.The Blackberry curve 9300 shows the out of office as being switched on and has the message I set in outlook showing.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an app, Activity Classifier, that uses the handset accelerometers to provide information on activities and total exercise. It automates exercise tracking, classifies activities by type and quantifies aerobic intensity. Live data streamed from an Xperia Arc using the app is displayed in a blog. While it is possible to use on the Active it is unfortunately more difficult on the Active than the Arc because the Active accelerometers have a fault that is hard to get around. The problem is that the accelerometers sometimes take quite a while to start sampling when either started or the sampling frequency is changed.Occasionally it can take longer than 90 seconds. The problem can be seen with the app Accelerometer Frequency. Switch between sampling frequencies and notice that sometimes it switches instantly and sometimes it doesn't. To minimise battery consumption Activity Classifier acquires data from the accelerometers for 6 seconds out of every 30. If no other app is using the accelerometers they will start and stop every sampling period. On the Active they frequently don't start and the app detects a faulty accelerometer. The app has an option to keep accelerometers on and if this is selected it will work OK but battery consumption goes up a lot. The Active comes with a pedometer app called Walkmate. I can see from the Accelerometer Frequency app that Walkmate keeps the acclerometers running at 50 Hz and running Walkmate at the same time as Activity Classifier will make Activity Classifier work OK as well. Walkmate seems pretty power efficient and uses less than half the power of the market leading pedometer app Accupedo, run in power balanced mode, but it counts a different number of steps.

View 2 Replies View Relatedyesterday out of the blue the display on my active stopped working. i connected it to the pc and did a reset/reinstalled the firmware but still no display.i can play music using the original headphones and the headset controls and the home/menu/back buttons light up when i press the unlock key but that's about it.oh yes and i think i managed to unlock the screen even though it was totally back as i could could play/pause music and skip tracks using the screen controls (pressing where i guessed the music controls were).
View 2 Replies View RelatedHave had my 8530 for two months now and today I noticed that anytime I push a button on my phone for any reason I get a steady red LCD light. The LCD goes dark when the backlight goes out. The battery is charged and I can make phonecalls. I don't have any outstanding messages and have used the reconcile now option just in case. I scoured the net looking for a solution and the only thing I can find is to do a battery pull or disable the LCD. I definitely don't want to disable it, and I ran across one person who posted that when she did a battery pull that her BB didn't turn back on afterward--so I'm REALLY hesitant to try that!
I haven't upgraded anything on the phone. I was listening to Pandora when this seemed to happen, but I use Pandora every day.Any suggestions/thoughts? I'll do the battery pull if I have to, but I'm hoping to find other solutions.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I woke up this morning my phone was turned off so I try to turn it on by holding the power button, it only flashes the LED (red) 3 times between short pauses, no vibrations then stays turned off.Next, I tried to plug the charger in then holding the power button. still the same symptoms as above.Lastly, I tried plugging the charger / connector to my laptop then plugging the phone in. When I did that, the red LED shows 1 blink on intervals as opposed from the 3 blinks above.I know I still have my warranty but I want at least try and fix it because I don't like going out on weekends (the days of the week where I get to rest) so I'd rather try a fix here at home.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have iphone 3GS 16 GB, currently on 3.1.3, jailbroken by spirit and unlocked. It is one month old only. I noticed that the battery drains so fast (3 hours of listening to music through earbuds and 30 minutes of wi-fi and that's all, I have truned wi-fi off, push notifications off, location off, EQ off etc). Since this battery life is not typical for iphone 3GS, I am planning to get it checked by Apple. But an employee there told me they will not touch it as long as it is jailbroken. I downloaded 3.1.3. and tried to make restore through itunes (click restore while holding shift and browse to 3.1.3) but it does accept and it gave me error # 3194. itunes asked me to upgrade to iOS 4.0 but I don't want to do it now becasue I know there is no jailbreak. So, is there anyway to un-jailbreak and restore to 3.1.3 so that it can be checked by Apple?

Why is it that I notice on home screen and while using apps that my back light dims just a tad every so often.. Its like the screen dims about 10-15 percent quite often.. View 22 Replies View RelatedI turned on my phone (Xperia X10/mini pro running Android 2.1-update 1) yesterday and found a message saying, "SD card being checked for errors". Turned off the phone and removed the card, checked the contacts, put the card back in. Turned the phone back on. Then got a range of errors. "SD card removed" "Insert SD card" "SD card being checked for errors". At the same time, the phone started turning itself off, a blank screen would appear and disappear, etc.
During the day, it would display an error saying that the SIM card couldn't be found. After removing the card, the battery and the SIM card several times, the phone started behaving normally but it now it can't see the SD card. I replaced the old SD card - which has been working fine for months - with a new one. Both are 2GB Sandisk cards. The phone displayed two messages: "Blank SD Card Found" and then "SD Card Removed" and now displays "SD Card Removed. Insert a new one."
The calendar on my Iphone is using GMT instead of EST when I enter an appointment. I have restarted, checked for software updates, checked under settings/general/date&time. I've also checked under settings/mail,contacts/calendar. I basically went through everything under settings looking for anything that related to time. All seems to be appropriately set. Why it is using GMT and how to stop it? I have obviously missed something.

I've today invested in this device, and I'm having trouble getting the browser to work, I did have a gander round the forums and the blackberry support section about this problem.
I've created the Wi-Fi Connection its come up as "Wlan_089A8C"
I still can't connect to the browser.
I see the browser is "HotSpot Browser" But in the general properties how do I change the Default Browser To another browser for this to work?
