BB Curve :: Possible To Manually Install MMS / Internet Settings On 8520
May 13, 2011I recently purchased a Blackberry Curve 8520 and from day one I havent been able to access internet and send mms from my phone. How to install the correct settings for mms and also to browse internet (manually). I have rang my service provider and they stated I could not get the settings sent to my phone so they would email me the right settings so I could do it manually. I had followed all the steps from email but still nothing.

Oct 4, 2011My partner has a BB Curve 8520 and tried to install an app from bbworld yesterday, the phone restarted and now gets 3/4 of the way across the bar and fails to load anymore, Ive done some research and realised i need to reinstall the os, The problem being we only have one usb lead and i use that to tether internet through my bb torch, Iv downloaded the installation files but whenever i start it 'checks for updates', which i believe means online, it will not go past this step, Is there a way to manually reinstall the os without having to connect to the internet? If i try connecting to the desktop software it recognises my device and pin but says it cant connect so needs to update, and leaves me with the same problem.

May 16, 2012The twitter application I was using stopped working and was constantly crashing my phone. I deleted the app, yet the settings and options that link in with other apps still remain (instagram etc). Whenever I click on these my phone crashes. Feb 2, 2010I've got a strange problem with my 5800, when I want to enter application manager > installed applications my phone restarts. From recent installed applications a major ones would be Ovi Maps and (today) Java 2.0 from Nokia Beta Labs. I am not sure which one could cause the described problem, but I think it would be Java. Why? Because without memory card present I can enter 'installed apps' without any problem. I have to tell you, that only in my opinion Java causes that, I don't know if any other doesn't. How to manage the problem without a hard reset? I really wouldn't like to install all my stuff once again.

Jan 25, 2010I took the plunge and installed OS 5 on my 8900. I nuked it , did a fresh install, reinstalled apps manually rather than restoring and I restored my data (email, sms, mms, etc). The install went smooth I configured the icon layout and such and seemed ok. As I have been using it I have been having a few issues hat are becoming more and more troublesome to the point I may have to go back to 4.6 even though I really don't want to so I hope I am having either a common problem or a fixable one.
when I put the bb in the cradle to charge and I take it out the screen goes white sometimes. I know from reading old posts that it is a bedside mode problem. I tried bedside mode off but then the keyboard and screen stay lit and that is annoying at night so I put bedside mode back. Is there any fix for either bedside mode or to have everything dim like it was in bedside mode?
when the screen goes off (like from lack of use to save power) and I press any key to wake it up I get what seems like the backlight turning on but the screen is still black. I have to press various keys to wake it up so I can use it again. Is this common and if so is there a fix or a known cause? I might have others but I can't recall them now but these are the 2 main ones.
