BB Curve :: How To Retrieve Contacts List In 8530?
May 18, 2012
my 8530 curve suffered a cracked screen and i cannot see anything on it, therefore i must acquire another phone. i will not be staying w/blackberry, however. is there anyway i can retrieve my contacts list?
I will try again and hope I have entered all relavent information. I have a 8530 curve, I am having issues with my contacts list. I have tried to add and or edit. I am able to get to the screen and press edit and or add contacts, but after I click on them the phone does nothing.
When you press the menu key on the blackberry it sends you into the contacts search with the letters Yi typed. Is there any way to correct this? Did I somehow set up some kind of shortcut? Anything? I just got the phone replaced two days ago because the other one wouldn't work with BBM or e-mail.....
This is a list of all the carriers known so far in the world that provide service for the 8530. Enjoy! Asia Pacific Reliance SMART Communications Inc. Blackberry dumped my contact list after 2 attempts to enter password (even thou password was correct) Anyway to retrieve my contact list I didn't know you could back it up therefore I didn't
My work just upgraded their old Moto phones to Sprint Blackberry Curve 8530's. We have an extensive contact list in csv file format that we need to get onto these phones. I have read about logging in to the BIS sprint.blackberry.com site and importing it there, but I get a message that email must be managed on the phone. What is the easiest way to get these contact on to the new Blackberries?
Is there any way to view a second contact list on a BlackBerry? I am behind a BES. I have multiple contact lists in Outlook and want to be able to see them on the Curve .
Is there a way to activate caller ID for my BB contact list? I just switched from a Samsung, on that phone I had caller ID for all the contacts in my contact list. My Blackberry doesn't seem to do this. As long as I had someone in my contact list their info was displayed when they called. Numbers that weren't in my contact list/phonebook would show as just the number-which is fine. Is there a way to have the BB do this as well? Its very frustrating as I have no idea who is calling me... If the info is already in the phone there should be a way to have that displayed when people call.
I just got my first Blackberry, the Curve8350, and everything for the first week went great. Then, I updated the software.Like many people here I was frustrated with the lock feature being changed/removed/unnecessary, and not being able to use the left key to lock it (I don't want the hassles of entering a password, I've already found that "solution" to the problem). Also, the green aol mail icon that represented my email changed to just the normal default icon. This may seem minor, but I am very particular with my phone and was beyond displeased that things had changed.
Anyway - I downgraded, hoping that everything would be back to normal. Being a new user, I wasn't smart enough to back up my phone, blah-blah-blah, I took it up to Verizon, had them add my contacts from a previous phone, then set out to re-customize the phone AGAIN.
I am now running v5.0.0.337. Wordmole, Sudoku, and a few other games that came with the phone have vanished. I set a downloaded ringtone as my default tone - I did this for all profiles - but all entries in my contacts list still say "Ringer_ClassicPhone" - the OLD default. I have set custom ringers for a few people, and have no problems with anything. However, if anyone else that just has the supposed "default" tone calls, it's the classicphone ringer - NOT the tone I have selected. I am not going to go through 100+ contacts and manually change them to the tone and volume that should ALREADY be set!
I have had the Curve 8530 for about a week, and I noticed today that the majority of my contact list has disappeared. I started with almost 250 names, now I have about 25. Everything from A-D is gone, and about 75% of everything after that, just random names deleted. Also, when I pull up the contact list, I have to scroll down through a bunch of empty lines before I can see the numbers that are left, like all the deleted contacts are still there, just hidden. But if I search for names that aren't showing up, it doesn't find anything. I've tried a battery pull, and all that happened was the empty spaces in the list disappeared. I really don't want to have to reload my contacts every few days.
Is there anyway I can retrieve my contacts and memos if I dont have my blackberry? I want to put them in a temporary phone till I get another blackberry.
My phone was charging the other night during a power failure and in the morning my contacts and BB contacts were gone. These contacts aren't lost as it's my gmail contact list - but I can't get them back on my phone. I've clicked all the buttons to sync, but no luck. I can't manually add a contact and see it either. In the contacts options, it says that I have 288 contacts associated with my gmail account, and when I manually add one, it goes up by another number. But - I can't see them anywhere. Also, I removed the email account and set it up again making sure to click the sync box, took out the battery and SIM card and put it back, and still nothing.
I lost my BB yesterday. I need to know is there any way I can retrieve my contacts and my messages from BB service. I recall having subscribed to this auto saving. It would be a great help if someone can help me and guide me on this. For obvious reasons I have deactivated my old SIM and got a new one fixed from the service provider. However those jokers VODOFONE staff have no clue how to retrieve my contact details from BB service.
Had changed to a different mobile for a week and now when I moved back to BB,am not able to see any of the old contacts which I had saved in the phone..
I got my blackberry stolen yesterday, is it possible to retrieve back all the contacts via email, because I want all the contacts to be on my new blackberry.
My friend lost his blackberry 8900. He canceled his contract with TMobile so the phone was SOS. The phone was insured but since the contract was canceled they won't honor it. Is there anyway he can retrieve his contacts in the Desktop Manager? He backed it up all of the time Is the contacts in a file on the computer that he can read? thanks in advance. I looked in the loader back up IPD files and all I see is a lot of jibberish. But no contacts.
My BB just decided to delete its contact list and copy my wife's. I then deleted her contacts and replaced my own result her list changed and she has lost her contacts. None of the settings have been changed since BB was bought 6 weeks ago
my cruve 8530 will not take a charge due to bad connecter in the phone. but i want to know how to put contacts on my sim card or what i can do so i can put them on a new 8530 that i have. i can not connect to my computer to transfer the contacts that way.
I recently downloaded a new version of Skype mobile to my blackberry and after restarting all of my contacts disappeared. I can only add one contact to my address book, but it repeats 5 times. I end up with the same name repeated 5 times and when I delete one they all disappear. Attempts to restored address book from back ups using BB Desktop Manager fail loading the address book.
I'm not sure when it started, I'll guess shortly after a small wetness issue, but I have not been able to add contacts to my blackberry for almost maybe 3-4 months now. Anytime i click on new contact my phone freezes n I have to restart it.how to solve this problem I dont want to do a full reset if i don't have to.
My husband and I bought Blackberry Curve 8530s last night. We had all our contacts in our blackberrys when we left the store, I was even assigning ring tones to certain people already. I downloaded blackberry for facebook later that night and all my contacts were suddenly gone. I've tried to manually put in contacts, click save, and then no contact shows up. There are no filters checked in the contacts so I know it's not that. Any other ideas?
Im trying to transfer contacts list from one blackberry curve 9300 to another blackberry curve 9300 my local AT&T store tryied and failed then told me to just go home and use blackberry desk top manager and back up old phone then restore to the new phone when I do durring the restore i get the message of [OMA DM] 0 of 1 restored. most of the photos, emails, apps, phone log, get transfered but no contacts have been changed.
My contacts list is a mess. I would like to organize it but doing it directly on the phone is not easy. Is there any application or software where I can organize and sort out all my contacts, emails, addresses, birthdays e.t.c. and then transfer back to the phone?
I received an email message from Blackberry inviting me to upgrade my OS to 5.0.0.1, which I did wirelessly. At the end of the process, after the restart, I got a message that said "uncaught exception ....I pulled the battery and tried again a few times, but I kept getting the same message.I Goggled the error message and to my horror found hundreds of listing - most related to corruption errors! However, since my blackberry home screen appeared under the message warning, and it is supposedly a mission critical device and I need to work, I clicked ok and started to use my device again.
All seemed find until I noticed that some of my contacts were missing.Maybe about 10%. I determined that some of these missing contacts had been updated since my last back-up. Others had been on my BB for years.I decided to try and restore the address book from my last back-up.I launched my Desktop Manager 6.0.2 and tethered my Curve.First I backed up the "damaged contact list" as part of a full back up.All went well. Then I went to use a 2 week only back up file, that I made before the OS upgrade. But the address book field was dimmed. There were 4036 entries on the dimmed back up file. I had 4021 on my Curve, but many more than 15 were missing. Regardless, I couldn't restore because:
(Dimmed entries are data types that are read only . . . . )The only solutions to this problem I found via Google related to older OSes and devices and involved deleting service book entries which look nothing like the service book entries I found. Or, is simply a problem related to running a RIM application on a RIM device after an upgrade to one more "advanced" RIM OS from another RIM OS, at RIM's recommendation?
My contacts are gone completly from home screen, and another icon has taken it's place. This happened after deleting two applications I no longer needed and rebooting phone. I did not delete my contacts, but they are gone.
