BB Bold 9000 :: Clear IT Policy / Error On Policy File
Aug 26, 2010I needed to clear the IT policy from my BB Bold. I followed the instructions:
- backup
- wipe handheld
- replace policy.bin file
- restore
The phone works just fine. The policy appears to be gone, and I can set the security options as I want. However, when I start my Blackberry Desktop, I get an error saying "error reading policy file. Please contact your Administrator". Any idea what the issue is and how to correct it?

Jan 7, 2010I have a BBM notifaction that I cannot clear. I have been through EVERYTHING on my phone, and nope there is nothing pending or open. How do I clear it? I even did a battery pull.The only thing I can think of, was I had a request, accidently hit ignore and saw the person that sent me that request and i requested them back. Aug 8, 2011I have a BB 3G 9330 Curve, only got it about a mth ago. Was on vacation and accidentally let battery completely die, well once charged and restarted my screen is way too light! It looks like all my words are light grey instead of black, the photo's look like there faded out...they arn't though bc I've posted some of my photo's on FB and they are normal colored. Texts are too light to read unless I scroll over them.

Sep 9, 2010A friend gave me their old Blackberry but it was used for his work email and was set up with a password just to access the phone. He doesn't remember the password. I put a new sim card in, but is still asking for the password. We tried 4 different ones. On the 5th it warns you that your program will be deleted. We haven't tried the 5th password. It we do will it erase information in the sim card?
Is there a way to clear everything out of memory and reset the Blackberry to it original defalut settings.I tried pulling out the battery with the phone on, but that doesn't do any good.

May 4, 2010I was given a BB Curve 8310 to attempt a repair. When I attach the USB cable to the BB the system tray does not pop up with a notification that says "found new hardware" like it normally does when you plug a BB in. When the phone boots up it displays error msg " JVM Error 513". I attempted to looking into the device by using "cracmem" and "JL_Cmder" and no data is to be found and thus there is nothing to wipe. I suspect that the device has already been wiped thus the no data. I have pulled the battery from the phone and reinstalled; unplugged the usb cable during the BB boot process and nothing is happening. The DM application loader will not allow me to procede due to computer not recognizing the BB device thus it is not generating the "USB:UNKNOWN".
