i have a vodafone prepaid connection on my phone . im currently on roaming and while be out of town for more than 2 months . can anyone please advise what apn settings is required . my bbm 399 monthly plan in on but yet im charged for using internet services and customer care is of no help.
I was traveling in Germany and Italy, and I made sure to set "Data Services While Roaming" to "Off." However, I still did incur data roaming charges. They are really small-- like 15KB/day, but it's nonetheless annoying that my Blackberry Bold 9700 is using data even though I turned it off. I use AT&T. Does anyone know why?
I have a blackberry curve in mumbai which get deactivated as soon as i am on roaming when i use the SIM on other phone it works but not with Curve i have also inter changed some others SIM into my phone but the result is the same.
I've got a problem with my Curve 9300 while roaming. I don't want to allow data while roaming, as it's costs are too high, but if I switch off data the phone drops the mobile connection after about two minutes. With data switched on, the connection is normal and stays on.
I am using a Verizon BB 8330 (refurbished) with Appalachian Wireless. My data plan does not work with BIS or BES.App. Wire. shoots me the service books, but says that Verizon has some sort of lock in my phone that won't allow my phone to work online. I contacted verizon and they said they do not use locks on phones. I use opera mini 4.2 to access internet.I can not download any apps ota because I always get the message from blackberry that no browser has been configured.I can not download any apps with DM using an ota downloader because I can not find the 'URL to .jad' files. My phone works great almost any where I go, but my opera internet only works in my home area. Are there any tweaks or hacking methods that I can use to get Bis to accept my data plan?Or just to get opera to work in a roaming area?
I'm currently in the US and would like to use WiFi on my 9700. When I crossed the border I changed my "Data services" option to OFF and "While roaming" option to OFF also. I tried turning on the WiFi and connected to a stable WiFi connection but when I try and access the internet, I get a "Data services are disabled. Go to Mobile Network to enable" error. Would changing the "Data services" option to ON allow me to use WiFi only? I don't want to end up with a massive bill by using roaming data.
Since upgrading to ios 5.1.1 my iphone 4s will not roam. I am unable to connect to a phone network in Europe (apart from my home network o2 in the UK) but it does work in Africa?
o2 sent me a new sim card but this has not made any difference hence I think the problem may be with ios 5.1.1, any one able to offer any help?
i was able to log in prior to roaming in Europe andwhilst in Europe, but on return it does not recognise me, i have changed passwords numerous time and also have tried to register another email address, but it just asks to log in with the address assigned to this handset? it recognises me on the website, but from the handset. i have tried the work around on the website, stopping at the full factory reset, as have did this in the past
Is Bell going to charge me if I use BBM aka. Blackberry Messenger while roaming in the USA or overseas? And is there a way to restrict the data roaming and still use BBM?BTW, I am using a Bold 9700 with the 6 GB BIS plan.
I am roaming outside of my normal network. Will this affect my ability to get the update to 2.1?My normal network is O2 UK, I am roaming in Brasil on a number of the local networks (TIM, Oi etc).
upgrading to a 9700 with WiFi under the understanding that I would be able to use push email etc while traveling, solely over WiFi. I tested this at home before leaving, turning off data services but staying connected to UMTS for voice and WiFi for data while I was at the various customer sites. This worked great on arrival in Germany, and then in Switzerland briefly. Then after a battery pull everything went horribly wrong. I couldn't connect anymore, and after much research discovered that my Host Routing Table had reset and that according to the searches I've done there's no mention of this being downloaded via WiFi - you MUST connect to HSPA. So, with much annoyance, I bit the bullet and connected.
I don't want to be charged for roaming data. I know where the Cellular Data and Roaming options are in Settings, though I don't know which I leave checked and unchecked for best results. I do not want to be charged for roaming data in any way on any app. Do I have to do anything with location services or anything else, also? (And, just to clarify: if I turn off roaming, I can still iMessage for free on Wifi, correct?) I'm using an iPhone 4S with the most current version of iOS 7 as of this post.
i want to know how can i disable All Data transfer and Data roaming on my E72 when i change of country?on my old blackberry , i had the option : Data disable : yes/no
so i check on user manuel that i can use Single mode on network parameter and put it only in GSM . But when i try to use the web or ovi the system ask my to connect my internet and it's work , but i'm always in GSM mode , so i suppose that GSM mode cannot the good option for disable ALL DATA TRAFFIC.
I actually want my widgets to update WHILE I am roaming. Usually people don't want their widgets to update while roaming, because data fees abroad are very expensive. However, the provider I use,'Telfort', uses the 'KPN' network to serve their clients. Because of that, my Nokia thinks I am roaming, but in reality, I am not.
Because of this, my background widgets stop updating their selves after a period of time, and I have to press 'content to online mode' a few times everyday, which is annoying.
how I can get my widgets to keep automatically updating while roaming ?
Can anyone tell me if I can send MMS’s while I am roaming and have data roaming switched off?I can send MMS’s on iphones/Nokia’s while Dataroaming is switched off, but can’t seem to do it with the 9700
Got my new 9900 a couple of weeks ago, besides the horrible battery life, When roaming, the data transfer rate (on 3G or 2G) deteriorates to a halt. Takes several minutes to download a web page. It even looses its connectivity to BBM at times. None of these issues occur when I am at home country. I am wondering if anyone else experiences similar issue and if there is any solution to the problem. The primary reason to have a BB is for its always ON reliability which unfortunately have been lacking on the "NOT SO READY FOR PRIME TIME" 9900 device.
I can browse internet over WiFi while roaming with my data services set to "On" , "off while roaming" but I have been unable to access email. I was told that this is the way blackberries work - that you must turn on data while roaming and pay the charges if you want to access email. My old Curve didn't work that way so I find it hard to believe that my Bold 9900 does work that way. With my old Curve I simply had to connect to WiFi and voila my emails would come through without adjusting any other settings?
For several times I have now noticed that once I come back to my home country after roaming , my mobile behaves as if it is still roaming - in the sense that battery keeps getting drained constantly and does not even last like 4 hours. I am given to understand that while roaming it is a common phenomenon for bateery to behave like that but why once I am back? The problem also rectifies itself after several days for no known reason! Is this a issue other have faced and how to over come this?
Since some 3-4 weeks I cannot send e-mail while roaming. In fact I cannot send data while roaming.Everything else is working fine, I receive messages on my device, I can receive calls and send txt messages. I cannot surf on the internet. Before I had no problem at all. It just started a few weeks ago. When I write a message and send it, it just stays in my mailbox with the clock icon next to it. When I abroad connect to Wifi, the messages are sent.
Just faced a problem with my Torch. When I traveled, I can got the new mails but cannot send mails. All the outgoing mails were pending during roaming and released when back to home town.
The Torch is configured with BES for corporate and personal email, both mail accounts faced same situation. Is it the carrier or the BES issue?
I turned data off on my phone. It is always off. Will it be able to roam to other networks while I am not near my home network, say for incoming calls? My phone doesn't have a roaming on/off button that I can see.
I have my data switched on and set to roam. i can make and receive calls but i i cant get out on thr internet at all. I have updated the carrier settings several times but to no avail. i would also mention that, when i enable data, i do see the little H icon and the geofencing dot appearing so the phone seems to have data switched on ok.
I have tried everything I know to make email work. Data is on and I can connect to the Internet and use the browser. But email says cannot connect to server on sending and sent email is not received.
Exchange server does not work. Gmail does not work.
If I can connect to a WiFi, then email works. But without WiFi, email does not work at all.
I travelled to Colombia recently and in general, had my phone either turned off, or on airplane mode the entire trip. I only used it for one five minute phone call and to listen to music for about five hours accumulated. I was there for about 8 days.
I was told to put the phone on airplane mode, so as to avoid any roaming charges, as my fellow travel companions (who all also owned iPhones), said "that way nothing comes through. No wi-fi, messages, nothing".
