I had a perfectly working Curve 8900 (18 months old, not dropped, not been wet, protective case etc). One week after I cancel my care agreement, the wifi won't turn on. Similar thing happened a week after I cancelled it last time.
browsing the forums trying to find a solution to my problem but can't seem to find one. The blackberry was left not charging all night and battery has now drained. The red light will come on then the battery symbol with lightning bolt appers. I've tried different chargers, no result. I've tried a different battery and phone would still no turn on. I've put the my battery in another curve 8900 an it seemed to charge ok but still will not work in my phone. So I'm guessing it's a phone fault and not the battery?
I can not turn on my blackberry 8900 curve and can not charge it. I use USB cable for charging. When BB conect with the computer the red light is turn on and that`s it! I try to do the same thing with other computer and again the red light turn on, after that display battery, but only for 2 seconds and the BBturn off.
right i was out and my bb had full battery then i got it out of my pocket and i was off i tryed turning it back on and nothing was happening i went home and pluged it in my laptop and the red light came on and the sreen with a battery symbol with lightning going through it and i left it for about 20 mins tryed to turn it on and nothing happendasoon and when i unplug it it go's off
I'm having problem with my Curve 8900, I bought my phone maybe 3 months ago and it works great with no problems!
yeterday, I had to change my SIM card, after I replaced it and put the battary back again, the FlashLight goes on! and I can't turn it off! I tried to go to camera settings and change flash to OFF and the same in Video Camera with no luck..!
also, I tried to wipe the handheld from (Security Options) with no luck.when I turn the phone off the flash is ON, and when I take off the battary and plug the phone to the AC, it boots normally WITHOUT flash, as soon as I put the battary the flash works..!
I have a curve 8900 that won't turn of suddenly after I got the battery out and then put it back. The red light is flashing and the screen is black. It is also can not connect to the BB Desktop. When I tried to update the phone to be able to connect it the update is stick when it is trying to initialize the phone.
Yesterday my Blackberry shut itself off randomly. So straight away i put it on charge, but after about 10 mins nothing came up, only a solid red light indicator in the top right corner of the phone. I have tried EVERYTHING i can find online and nothing seems to be working :'( it only shows red light when on and off charge, my computer wont detect the device and when connected to the pc the solid red light shows up.. but then goes off after about 10 mins!
i just baught my friends old blackberry and his wifi worked fine.i got it and put giffgaff network on and now it doesnt pick any wifi up.i put his old 02 simcard in and it now still doesnt pick up any wifi..i tried manually adding them but it still doesnt pick them up. the diognostic results had a cross on the connection tab.
When I turn off my phone at nights (the "Turn Power Off" button), I leave it in the charger next to my bed. After this the greenish yellowish LED light starts blinking to tell me its charging. I absolutely hate that light and can't stand it. I'm not talking about the green coverage indicator light, which is different. Is there any way to turn this off completely?
I have read in a lot of places that Blackerrys contain internet sharing. My question is that does it have to be a data connection or can you do it with WiFi? Like I have a computer that too far away and doesn't have an adapter and also try to connect it to my Xbox?
I have an 8900 curve. I purchased this in UK where I live but I'm currently in Saudi Arabia and use a pre-pay sim on the Mobily network. I am able to connect to WIfi at my hotel and at work but for some reason cannot access the internet via Wifi.
I have a problem connecting my BlackBerry 8900 to a Sitecom WL-346 WiFi modem/router. I have created the WiFi profile on my phone, the connection get established, my phone get an IP address from the router (that is also a DHCP server) but I can't connect to internet. Also, if I try to ping the phone itself or the gateway (that is the router), the ping times out. I can't figure out which is the problem. From al of my devices (PCs, Wii) internet connection whit this router is OK.
Ok seriously... this is BS [exscuse my language] but this is my second Blackberry Curve 8900 and second battery and I've only had blackberry for 11 months. The first 8900 the battery started draining rapidly after 4-5 months and kept deleting everything on my microSD card. I had it replaced... now this second 8900 is doing the same thing. I've had the second 8900 for 4 months. I charged it all night, took it off the charger at 7am; by the time i was out of class it was red and going dead at 10am!
I do not have wifi on, no bluetooth... and also, it pings [like I've gotten a new text or email], the LED light will flash red but there won't be a message or missed call!
Anyone have this issue too? I am having it replace for the second time, this will be my 3rd blackberry 8900. If I have issues and problems again, I will have to say goodbye to blackberry. Even though I love everything about BB, the style, the keypad and so forth, I need something that won't die on me after 4-5 months!
Suddenly my curve 8520 has a problem with turning on the wifi. When I select to turn it on, the item is turning grey, but the red cross is still there. Hard reset has no effect. This problem suddenly popped up. Is it recommendable to install the OS completely again?
I got a brand new blackberry curve 8520 about a month ago from carphone warehouse & when i got home i connected to my sky router to connect the wifi but for some reason it wouldnt turn on on my phone (i entered all the passwords from the sky router etc..). I went back to carphone warehouse and they took it in for repairs. On saturday i recieved another new phone and i topped up my giffgaff simcard with enough credit for texts, calls, internet & blackberry messenger & when i got home i once again tried to connect my wifi, it connected but just wouldnt turn on! I have had a look at solutions to my query on other sites including giffgaff and we're all stuck as to why the wifi on my blackberry will not connect. I have tried battery pull & connecting to other wifi's & a few other theorys & nothing seems to help! Also, I cannot download blackberry app world on to my blackberry, it says there is an error when trying to download, I heard this can be because the download is to big for my internet on the sim card but without being connected to wifi!
i tried to turn on the wifi in my cellphone but it doesn't work. i've read and watch videos in Internet and i've done just like they say but it doesn't work.
I had an 8310 and just bought an 8900 brand new off of eBay. I used the 8310's speakerphone A LOT for listening to music and loved it! I always took the back of the phone off too so that it wasn't coming through 2 little holes through the top. Is the sound quality and volume of the 8900 equal to or greater than the 8300 with its batter door off?
Just received a new BB Curve 9360. I keep trying to turn off WIFI to save battery life but when I click off WIFI in the Manage Connections box it keeps turning itself back on after a few seconds. Is there some sort of automatic connect function that turns on WIFI if it detects a signal? If so where can turn off this function?
9300 is unable to turn wifi on.She can turn on everything but wifi (even bluetooth). When she checks the box by "wi-fi", the phone loads for a while, and then automatically stops and the box is unchecked. We don't know what it is, soft orhardware
Just got myself a BB 8900, however it dosent seem to have any device memory, i have looked under memory in the options menu and it doesnt say anything about device memory and when i connect it to my PC i cannot find the phone on my computer unless i have a memory card pluged in,

I recently purchased a blackberry 8900 and am trying to upgrade the software to the newest version (5.0 I assume). However whenever I check for updates via the blackberry site the desktop manger pops up and does not offer this upgrade. All it says it 4.6.1 (current) and the rest are downgrades, so I'm not quite sure what I need to do to get the new OS to even appear, much less download it and work.
