So im downloading desktop software to my laptop and i see 6 versions.

My current software on my curve is the 4.5 and i was told that that is NOT the current software for the phone. So can i download 5.0 or will i need to do something else for it to work?
I only frequent one site where the mobile version of the site is not great for my bb curve 9300. How can I change my settings to view a desktop version of the site without being redirected to the mobile version?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Storm 9500 & as other users might know the application memory on this device is shockingly low!!! I recently upgraded my BBM witch was a mistake as my phone was running OK until I did this & is now running out about 5 mins after battery pulls. Every time I use my browser it freezes up & that goes for other apps as well. I want to reinstall a smaller version of BBM as I don't need all these fancy upgrades they have just added all I need from BBM is basic IM or RIM could combine the App memory with the media memory so us Storm users can have a decent experience for a change. I keep all my media on my memory card (as I'm sure most people do) so I have 1GB of possible memory that I can use.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 5S running iOS 7.1.1, and recently (I believe just since the iOS 7.1.1 update) apps are not updating in the App Store. For example, Instagram rolled out new version 6.0.0, and if I search for "Instagram" in the App Store, the "Information" section for Instagram says that the version is "6.0.0". However, at the top where it should have the "UPDATE" button, it still just says "OPEN" like the most current version is installed. If I go open the version of Instagram I have installed, and click "About This Version", it confirms that I am using "Instagram V5.0.13", the older version of the app.Â
If I click on the "Updates" tab at the bottom, apps that have newer versions do not appear there as available to update. For example, I should have a notification that an update is available for Instagram, but I do not.Â
I'm not sure how many apps are affected, since I would have to manually go through and check the version number listed inside the app, and then check the version number in the App Store, but this is not the first time this happened. I only noticed it this time because of news stories covering the new Instagram release.Â
I only use one Apple ID on my Phone, and I have always used the United States app store, but since I've seen this listed as an issue I went through and re-selected the United States app store and re-accepted the Terms and Conditions. I have tried logging out of my Apple ID and back in through the App Store, and also through Settings > iTunes & App Store. I have tried restarting my phone, and I have also tried performing a "soft reset" (holding down Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously until the phone restarts). Nothing so far has worked.

Now I know this has been a frustration for many users. Nokia ovi maps 3.0.3 is not widely compatible with a lot of phones with exceptions being the newest models. Free navigation is not available on the older version of maps, so either free licenses need to be available on the older maps or the new version must become compatible. I know nokia have said they are working on this, but is there any timescale? I could do with having navigation on my phone a.s.a.p really.
View 4 Replies View RelatedGot my Elm yesterday and assumed it would have a front camera for video calls, but to my surprise it DOESN'T?I read a review of the phone where it clearly DID have a front camera.So today I phoned up SE (alas, I noticed the way too low volume during calls) and they told me that you can only get the front camera version of Elm outside the "Nordic" countries. What's up with that? I'm so disappointed. Who needs video calling when the other part of the conversation can't se me?Any thoughts? I can return my Elm during the next 14 days, so I guess I'm asking if anybody knows of an online shop where I can get a front camera-enabled Elm?

While mobile sites are nice, sometimes I need to see the real, actual site. Is there a way to force Safari to go to the real site? Some sites have a link to the real site, but others do not? I'd like it be MY choice whether I use a mobile version of site or not, but I can't currently figure out how to make Safari take me to the real site when a mobile one is available.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased some music from iTunes on my MacBook Pro while experiencing some problems with my internet. Eventually I got the songs downloaded to my computer, but it caused a weird error on my iPhone. It appears that the music I downloaded tried to automatically download to my iPhone but never started. The songs are just sitting there with the downloading icon next to them, but they are not downloaded. I have since syned my phone with my computer, causing these songs to become duplicates. My computer does not recognize that my phone is downloading them and I cannot delete them from either my phone or my computer. I have tried removing all of the music from my phone and resyncing it to no avail. Here is a photo of what it looks like on my iPhone: I have since purchased more music from iTunes and this problem did not occur. Also, I have tried going to the iTunes app and checking the downloads tab, but nothing appears there.

I recently had a 4S (either 5.0.1 or 5.1, definitely did not have 5.1.1) replaced. The refurb came with a version that was not 5.1.1 (it was the version that still displayed 3G on AT&T and had no lock screen camera). Upon trying to setup the refurb and load the backup from iCloud, the only option was way back from November 2011, so it clearly did not want to use the iCloud backup that was a future iOS version compared to the refurb. Now that I have restored to that November backup, and updated iOS to the latest version, I see in my iCloud backups that my latest, May 24th phone is there. So how do I restore to that? If I reset the phone completely, it will revert to an iOS version incompatible with the May backup again - right? At that point, I'm back where I started... can I somehow restore the iCloud backup without a full reset?

I have the 1520 connected to my Windows 7 PC (via USB) and wanted to keep the hi-res versions only, so I deleted the lo-res ones. The hi-res files still appear as physical files in file explorer with multiple megabytes but no preview/ thumbnail (same as before). I can't transfer them to an empty folder on my Desktop or to Imgur, nothing happens, not even an explanation. I checked my recycle bin and the lo-res files are no where to be found.

When I attach the USB cable to the BB the system tray does not pop up with a notification that says "found new hardware" like it normally does when you plug a BB in. When the phone boots up it displays error msg " JVM Error 513". I attempted to looking into the device by using "cracmem" and "JL_Cmder" and no data is to be found and thus there is nothing to wipe. I suspect that the device has already been wiped thus the no data. I have pulled the battery from the phone and reinstalled; unplugged the usb cable during the BB boot process and nothing is happening. The DM application loader will not allow me to procede due to computer not recognizing the BB device thus it is not generating the "USB:UNKNOWN".

When I hit the download button it takes me to the sign in for BlackBerry ID, then to terms and conditions and then to my ID settings! The only way I can get off this screen is to press Discard, which takes me back to where I started! I just keep going round in circles.

I seem to have gotten everything working on the Curve, except for the email.I had the same email accounts (gmail, hotmail) set up on both phones, but for some reason now that I've switched over to the Curve on the Fido network, I can't send or receive email.I've checked all my settings, and they seem right.I can access the web, my Wi-Fi is set up, and I can send & receive texts. Anyone have any ideas about this email problem? Also, I can't remember my account username for the BB website to access my account online to change the email.When I ask to send my password, it says it has been sent to my BB, but of course I can't receive email, so I'm not getting it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHave had my 8530 for two months now and today I noticed that anytime I push a button on my phone for any reason I get a steady red LCD light. The LCD goes dark when the backlight goes out. The battery is charged and I can make phonecalls. I don't have any outstanding messages and have used the reconcile now option just in case. I scoured the net looking for a solution and the only thing I can find is to do a battery pull or disable the LCD. I definitely don't want to disable it, and I ran across one person who posted that when she did a battery pull that her BB didn't turn back on afterward--so I'm REALLY hesitant to try that!
I haven't upgraded anything on the phone. I was listening to Pandora when this seemed to happen, but I use Pandora every day.Any suggestions/thoughts? I'll do the battery pull if I have to, but I'm hoping to find other solutions.
I have a new icon that has popped up on my Curve. Nothing I do gets rid of it.It is up the top where my email/sms message alert icons appear. It is the twitter symbol "t" with a number 9 next to it - I pressume it is telling me I have messages, but I do not. Does anyone know what it is ? and whether I can get rid of it.I know it is not a major problem but it is just annoying me that I do not know what it is really.
