I am unable to pick address (when I type a name, it should resolve against my addressbook) while sending new messages or forwarding a message.
This issue is seen fairly recently and around the same time my addressbook got completely messed up.. Number stored against 'Mobile' field started appearing against 'Home'. I use blackberry 8520 and is on 5.0.0 version
I have had several issues with synching my Curve 8530 with MS Outlook. It seems that I end up with multiple copies of a contact and then the synch gives me an error code 0x80040fb3 - error encountered. I tried to delete all of the contacts in the address book and resych. After attempting to delete the contacts, there are seven versions of the same contact. I cannot open or delete the contact. I have tried deleting the address book from the Blackberry desktop but that did not work.
I just got a curve 8330 from a friend and had the service switched to it from my LG voyager today. Went to the Verizon store and they were unable to transfer my contacts. The guy told me that in options, because "wireless sync" says Not Available, he couldn't do it. I can't change that setting either.
My address book shows my both my email contacts and my phone number contacts. I just want to view my phone ook contacts and not the emails. How can i change this?!
I had done a 'RSET' to clear the contacts in the address book. Now I find that I am unable to save new contacts. Is there any way to resolve this problem without having to reinstall the OS.
I have a Bold 9700 and I am using it in Vietnam. At the moment I am using it as a phone device only and have not connected the B'berry to my PC.A couple of weeks ago I have been unable to send SMS messages to certain contacts in my address book and a message appears as "X - Unidentified Subscriber",other sms messages to other contacts are sent with no problems.
I have had my g3 for about 6 months and I haven't had a problem with it until now.
Recently (about a day ago) I came home and my phone wasn't picking up wifi anymore. So I thought I would do some troubleshooting myself.
I forgot the network, then rejoined it. Still nothing.
I rebooted my phone, still nothing.
I cleared my cache. Still nothing
Finally i completely factory reset my phone and tried to connect to the network and it still wont connect. It can see the network but just wont connect.
i have a blackberry curve 8520. at the momment i have 288 contacts but i can not add more. I go to menu, address book, new contact, the window give me the options, i add the information (name, phone, email, etc) and when i want to save the contact it do not save
i tried to reboot removing the battery for a minute and restart but still with the same problem.
Also i figured out that when y sync my bb with the desktop manager, the address book is not sync it says (Adress book not installed) that is why i can not swipe the contacts to reinstall the info because i have no back up of the address book
Just got this phone and manually input all of my contacts with no problem. One day later, all those contacts are gone and it won't let me add more contacts. I have even tried adding them to my SIM and then copying them over...but still nothing.
While I connect my blackberry and see the contact in media, I could see all my contacts but I cant see my contacts from the phone. how to see all the contacts from device. Just to confirm that there is no filter enable on my phone.
i have bb curve 8520 and cant seem to add contacts at all does any one no wot i can do iv rebooted my fone to see if that sorted it but nothin any one got
How can I delete all contacts in the Address Book?
OR
How can I get a new contact list to over ride an existing contact?
be aware that I have more than 2,100 well sorted contacts in a current T-Mobile 4G Slide contact list. I think that the deleting is the cleanest solution, but I'll try anything that works.
I have a curve, 8520. When I add a new contact to my address book, I find that it disappears when I remove the battery and reboot my phone or a few days later. However, older contacts that were saved on my previous phone, before I had my blackberry, do not get deleted. It is not the memory card as I tried saving a number without the memory card and the same thing happened.
I have a blackberry curve 8520 and it has never given me any problems. Yesterday, I tried to edit a contact in my address book and nothing happened, it didn't give me the option like the 'roll' button had frozen up or something. Also, the phone froze completely and I had to switch it off (which took a few seconds) and then I had to switch on again. I got an error message of some kind saying an application was not running or working.
partner has just had to exchange her handset because it wasn't working correctly. She is using the same sim.She had already added her email address on the old handset and adding it on the new handset is proving to be a problem. When she tries to 'add email' it comes up saying 'existing users' and asking for the user name and password. When we type in the full email and password it says 'Blank user name. Type a valid user name'We have tried just typing the first part of the email without the '@whatever.com' bit on the end and it says 'connecting to email settings' and then 'the information you provided is incorrect. retype your user name and password. Your user name and password are case sensitive.
Have just acquired my first BB Curve 8520 and it's been a total nightmare, it will not sync Contacts from Outlook and although Bluetooth is set to my old Sony Ericsson it will not accept Contacts?
I'm on an 8520 Curve running v5.0.0.681.I recently added an e mail account for my wife. In adding it, I allowed her contacts to be synched in. After deleting the e mail account, her contact list stayed (all1700 of them) swamping my contacts.I read on these forums that using RSET in Address Book Options would remove the list. It did but also removed all my contacts. There is no back up on a PC or on my SIM. I can't even add contacts manually as they refuse to save. how to get my contacts back or at least to allow them to be re-input manually?
So about 24 hours ago my Contacts went blank. (i.e. No contacts listed) I have pulled the battery for reset (a couple times)I have checked and unchecked all the filtersThe contact information does not show for SMSThe contact information DOES show in the call log (and I can view their complete Contacts information from there)Email client linked is Lotus NotesNot all Contacts were in the LN address book, but even those that are no longer show on the BB (And I've been able to view contact information from the call log for people not in my LN address book.)
When selecting a contact to send a message to, the drop down list auto fills with some of my contacts which start with the letters I am keying in, but it does not auto fill with all the relevant contacts, missing out most of the contacts which start with the letter or name I am keying in? E.g if I was sending to a contact called "Paul" Keying in "P" would only bring up a few of the contacts I have starting with "Paul" but no all of them Even if I continue to key in the full name the auto fill does not seem to find the exact same name which is in my contacts Is there any way to turn off this auto fill so you can manually select the contacts I wish to sent the message to?

I downloaded Blackberry Desktop Manager like the BB site said to do and backed up my address book and everything else on my phone. I was going to update my BB Curve 8330 software. I read the directions and followed them and after I backed up and it said the back up was successful I tried to update the software and it said that failed so I restored everything back onto my phone and guess what? Address book is gone! So far that's the only thing I can find that didn't restore but I'm still looking. Is there anything that I can do that I am not techno-savvy enough to have realized or are they just gone? If they're just gone then fine whatever I'm not going to freak out.
A month ago my 8310 Curve, v. 4.5.0.55 (Platform 2.7.0.68) service provider O2, stopped being able to search and find Contacts unless I had added them after that date. These newer Contacts have not been folded into the original Address Book, but are all in a new and alphabetised list at the end of the original Contacts list. There are no Categories assigned, no Network sync, and Content is not protected. The Contacts are in the phone, not on the SIM.
Before this, I could type in to the Address Book or the phone the first 2-3 letters of someone's name and it would take me to that contact - now it says there's no such person. So I have to scroll through the entire address book to get to who I want, and then I can call/SMS etc.
I just got a Blackberry last week and there's no option in the email set up for a personal email address add, only for a business one. how to change this?
Since three days i can not add new person to m adress book.It started after failure of Windows Live Messenger update. After new update has dropped into my box i tried to get updated version.ut the screen has frozen. After get the battery out from the machine to turn to the normal my problem has started.I applied to Vodafone technical desk. But they said this is Blackberry general problem and known as yours.Do you have any solutions for that? I can not add anybody into my adressbook. And this makes me trouble when i try to find the person who i met new.
I just got the Curve 9300. I can't seem to sync the contacts and calendar with my Mac's BB Desktop Manager. It shows the message, "... turn off wireless synchronization by opening Address Book on the device... etc." There isn't such an option available.
