Oct 22, 2011Just got a blackberry curve 8530 smart phone. I inserted my media card, however I am unable to upload my favorite ringtones from my media card.

BB Curve 8520 - 8530 :: Wont Show Ringtones From Media Card
May 7, 2010When i go into the Media file, go to ringtones and select my ringtones, it wont show the tones that are on my memory card. It did until i set up desktop manager and then i dont know what i did but they dont show. I know they are there because i did a hard reset and pulled the battery, also removed the media card, when it scanned i saw it show all the ringtones then watched em all come off. how can i fix this to be able to view them?

Feb 26, 2010I have not found in a search where this is covered, so here goes While plugged into my USB port my Tour defaults to the Ringer_ClassicPhone Ringtone. It sounds horrible. But while plugged into the USB, it can not access my ringtones on the mediacard, where all of my defaults for SMS, Phone, and Email are located. So, the question, is there a way to import external, i.e. .wav's or .mp3's on a media card, to the Tours onboard memory so that the device can access them even plugged in. Yea - I know - how long can a phone be plugged in and is this really an issue. Yes - it is - to me. On a busy day at work, I will often plug my phone into the USB at my PC to charge it some, especially if it is getting into the 50% range, and it is not noon yet.

Aug 11, 2012I am new to Blackberry. Just got BB Curve 9380 few days back. When I click photo with the storage option being Media Card, the picture is not saved anywhere, it gets lost. But when I click picture with the camera and the storage option being Device, it gets stored and can be viewed in the picture list. Same thing happens with the Videos.

Aug 12, 2010I am using BB 8520 Curve with the default external memory (2 Gb). I have music files (*.mp3, *.wma) as well as picture files (captured through the device itself).What happens is, from time to time I am unable to access the media card content. If I go to music, I can see the entries if I go to any of the menu filters, All Songs/Artists/Albums/Genres .. etc. But when I click on the song itself, the music player opens with a message "This playlist contains no valid songs". Also, during this time, my device rings with the default tunes on a call, even if I have set custom profile ring tones.Similarly, if I go to Media->Pictures, I can see a thumbnail preview of the photos, however on trying to open a file it just presents me with a black screen. The contact picture or the desktop custom wallpaper, however is rendered as expected.If I reboot my device by taking off the battery, things get working again.I am experiencing this issue quite frequently, almost every day. I tried to find out a trend for the behaviour, however could not make any such consistent observations.Does anyone in the forum has faced similar issue? Any inputs would be highly appreciated. This is really being a disturbing trait with my otherwise so cool BB.

Aug 12, 2010Ok, media card was working fine, had alot of work pictures stored on it and was becoming a hassle to hunt through all of them to find what I wanted. So, I inserted media card in computer and transfered what I wanted to a folder on the computer. Then I formatted the card using the computer. When I put the card back into the phone, the phone knows its there, but I must have wiped the card completely as none of the folders for video, pics, etc. are on it anymore. If I take a picture and go to find it, the media card does not even show up, just device memory.
Does anybody have a remedy for this? I already tried formatting the card in the phone but that didn't work. The phone is telling me in the memory options that 1.8GB is free, so I know it works, it just lost the folders or whatever........
BB Torch :: Unable To Add Media To The 32gb Card On It?
Nov 6, 2011I have been struggling for over a week to upload my music library on the BB Torch 9810.I have 32gb SanDisk card.First I tried to sync it with I-Tune library.After about 300 songs and a message that SYNC was successful, I disconnected my BB from the computer ..and got the message that the card needs to be repaired. I had to click YES otherwise the card cannot be used.After the card is repaired no more songs can be added and no songs can be played.
I reformatted the card and started from the beginning, this time trying to sync it with a Media Player Library. Tried about 8 times by SYNC and by dragging the media files on the card directly whilst the phone is connected.After about 190 songs which go on with no problems, I then get a message that "The media being played is an unsupported format"I make sure ALL songs are mp3 format. Sometimes it would recognize some songs from an album, but not all of them. How is it possible if the whole CD was burned at the same time, therefore all the songs are in the same format?I tried to take the battery out and put it back...but after the error message that "The media being played is unsupported format" or that card needs to be repaired I can't add anymore media files!I wiped my music and started from the beginning about 6 times. Every time it "trips" on a different album, and albums which were uploaded successfully before would not work if I try to add them later, i.e. if albums are uploaded in different order.

Apr 11, 2011I have a BB curve 3g(9300). I used to connect my BB to my PC with the USB data cable. I would than simply drag songs from my computer into music folder. I have not used the Blackberry media manager software. The songs used to work perfectly and gave me no troubles. However today i wanted to add some more songs so I did the same thing. When I disconnected my BB from the computer I found that there was no music nor were there any pictures that I had clicked earlier. I connected my BB to my computer via data cable. I found that all the music and pictures were there in their respective folders. Please note I dont have a media manager software and I directly open the Blackberry folder when I connect my BB to PC. So the nature of the problem is that when connected to my PC, I can see all the music and pictures on my PC but however when I disconnect my BB I cannot see any pictures or music. After fidgeting with my BB, I found that after i go to "media" than "explore" than "media card" than "show hidden files" there are hidden copies of the following folders - Black berry, files, fonts Recycler and start.app.These copies appear first and then there is a line separating them from rest of the list of icon. Under "Blackberry" copy in the "music" folder all my music is there. under pictures all my pictures are present. When I click at the non hidden "blackberry icon I get a message Unable to display/media card/blackberry.exe?

Jul 28, 2011Yesterday i was running out of charge and didn't have the charger - a colleague had a charger cable connected to his PC, so i charged my phone through this cable.Next thing i know - i open the pictures folder and i only see the pictures stored on the device - which were taken ages ago. All pictures, videos and voice notes that were on the media card are gone.I took a picture just to see where it gets saved - it mentioned "saved on media card". I open the picture folder and it's not there.
I tried the trick of choosing "view pictures" through the camera - nothing. went to Options - memory - and the media card IS recognized, and says "total size 900 MB, Free space 700 MB).Now something weird happened - i went to the pictures folder and "created a new folder". It got created on the media card and now it shows. And thus, any picture i take and i save on THIS folder - it appears in the "all pictures" folder normally.

BB Curve 8900 :: Media Card Is Not Found?
Jan 1, 2010I've seen various versions of this question but haven't found an answer yet. I just bought a second hand 8900 to replace my damaged one. The problem is the device doesn't seem to be able to recognize my media card. In the options > memory it says "a media card is not presently inserted in the device". The card works fine in the old device and in a completely different type of phone from a friend. Their card is also not recognized by my device, so I've ruled out the card as the problem. I've tried all the usual fixes - battery pull, software update, etc but with no success. Is this phone just defective or am I missing something?
