View 6 Replies View RelatedHey everyone, I'm a new Curve 8530 user with sprint and have had my 8530 for about 6 days now and I just happened too look down at the screen while it was locked and the bottom left corner is full of dust on the inside.... Has anyone else seen this on the 8520/30 yet? Is it difficult to get a replacement device?
View 14 Replies View RelatedWhat's the best way to get rid of the dust under the screen of a 8530? I recently noticed this and my carrier said it was caused by dust getting in through the speaker area on top of the phone and that there was nothing they could do, they tried using a canned air, but didn't budge. I asked both U.S. Cellular and Verizon reps what I should do and they say that I need to replace the phone. (Contact my Insurance Company, which is DTS Insurance I believe my carrier uses.)
So far to correct the issue I've applied a case that covers up most cracks and a privacy protector which made it so I can see the dust under the screen. but, still I'd like to know how to fix the issue.
So far the only thing I can think of is to take the housing apart and probably just put a new housing on, but clean the lcd underneath the plastic screen.
I have a ton of dust under my screen right now, and it is really starting to bother me. Is there any way to get the dust out of the screen? I don't mind taking the phone apart if it gets rid of it. I already tried to take the phone to the VZW store, but they didn't do anything.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI've got a week old 8520, put an invisible shield on the other day and it looks ok. One corner is screwed up because I had to peel it up to remove a speck of dust but over all it looks fine. I just noticed today that there was some dust under one of the corners, but it's under the plastic screen not under the invisible shield. I thought these screens were sealed? It hasn't been dropped or anything, barely been used. Any advise besides taking it off and cleaning it out? What else besides the special plastic tool can be used to remove the screen?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had my Curve 9360 for just over 3 months and have always kept it in a case.Recently the screen only shows a full screen of random-coloured pixels. The phone itself is still responsive, but the screen only shows this image. I took it to a technician who tried replacing the screen but this did not fix the problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLately, I've found out that dust has developed under my screen, it shows mostly in the sun. It's kinda annoying that you can't get rid of it, I used to think it was on my screen, but when I tried to wipe it off it won't go - that means it's under the screen. I heard you could get your Xperia changed in the first few weeks if that happens, but it's been 4 months since I bought it - I mean who would develop dust under his screen in the first few weeks?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI cracked my 3G screen last week. It was my first time dropping since buying it on day one. I had it in my lap (which i normally never do) while driving and it fell flat on its face when i was getting out. I've already ordered a replacement glass and digitizer since the phone still works perfectly. My problem is that I can now see dust specks accumulating under the glass. What's the safest way to clean the LCD when I'm taking it apart?
View 7 Replies View RelatedAlthough there are more topics about this subject, I've got a specific question about this problem. Recently, I bought an iPhone 4S via the online Apple Store. A couple of days ago, I noticed that there is dust under the screen of the iPhone. The dust is in the middle of the screen and not that large (circa 2mm), but notable and annoying. I contacted Apple and they came with the following options: Send iPhone to repair (lasts 9-17 days);Exchange the iPhone for a new one, costs 29 euros.
If it appears that the dust comes from outside and not from the factory, I'd have to pay 250 euros in both cases. In view of the fact that I cope well with the iPhone - I always use an iPhone case to protect it and I've never had it in my pocket without the case - it seems to be illogical that the dust is my 'fault'. The inside of the case is made of leather, which doesn't correspond to the dust under the screen. However, I'm not completely sure that the dust comes from the factory, since I noticed it just a couple of days ago.
My question: is it wise to exchange or repair the iPhone, since it creates a large risk? I don't want to pay 250 or 280 euros more, this is 'required' if I decide to exchange or repair it and if Apple can prove that the dust doesn't come from the factory.

Using 022.007 today and I would recommend this phone to a friend.I have had a few known problems:pictures missing form the gallerythe D-pad fails intermittentlyNo indication when the charge is donebattery cover is a joke. Bad fit and to thin but overall the phone has worked very well.
But now I have another problem that is more annoying. It looks like there is dirt/dust *under* the screen - I have checked the screen and there are no marks on the screen surface. I have used the case that comes with the phone
from day one but that has not helped. How many here has seen this ? or am I the only one.I can see the dust/dirt clearly when the screen saver is running, it is very annoying.
Okay, got some dust under the screen. Not really noticeable except for one spec that catches my eye every time I look at the screen. Really annoying. I don't have insurance. Is there anything RIM or Verizon will do for me?
