My Blackberry 9300 shows me the voice mail icon, shaped like spools of a casette. The odd part is that I do not have voice mail service on my phone and I don't know how to get rid of the icon

I just got my 8330 a week ago and I cannot figure out how to make an icon appear when I have a voice mail. My husband has the 8350 and he is notified under "messages" on his start screen that he has voice mail. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I'd really like to set it up like my husbands phone, but I would surely settle for an icon on my screen.

In the past, once I check my voicemails, the icon goes away. But this time it has not. View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got the bold 9700 ver. 2 from ATT and don't have the phone icon. It is not hidden, I looked, and not in any other folder. All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I click the VVM icon it says do you want to sign up and I hit No and it just kicks me back to the main screen. How can I get rid of the Visual VM icon and get the Call log icon?

I have replace the last 4 digits of my cell phone number with ****. I only use the regular VM and want to stop VVM from running in the background on my 9700 and want to delete it!
Is there a way that I can either deactivate or delete Visual Voice mail. It works sporadically, and if I were to open VVM It will freeze my phone and I have to power off pull battery in order to unfreeze.

Love my new Lumia 900. One odd issue I can't solve and AT&T can't solve. They referred me to Nokia. When I check a voice mail and delete it, I get a blank text message from 1-(000)-000-0000. I get one for every deleted voice mail. AT&T says there is no setting for this.

She has done battery pulls, resent routing tables, and gone in to the store. Each time she goes in they tell her it is a software issue and that there is not an update yet.
