I had a BB Curve from 2008-2011. Yes, I switched to a different smartphone. I have need for access to some of the info that was backed up from my BB during 2010. Is it possible for me to get to this? I was using the Desktop BB software at the time, which has since been removed from my PC.

I broke my phone during flashing a rom, because the rom was faulty (actually my browser crashed during the download and i tried to install half a rom). And the point is I forgot to make a backup and I had moved my previous backups to my pc, because they were so many, and I thought, i'll make anther before flashing but i forgot. No my phone is broken and has no OS. I however can still access recovery mode. MY question is, is it in any way possible to access my phone from my computer during recovery mode.

I see that a backup file was created (named LoaderBackup-(2010-08-08).ipd) that now resides on my computer. Is there a way for me to access this file to restore photos and addresses, etc? Backed up old 8520 before it was returned to manufacturer due to speaker fault. I received a new 8520 but now can't restore the data to the new phone. The screen just appears to hang whilst fetching the backup file.

Sorry I meant to put SD* card not SC. I had a bb tour 9630 that I broke. I got my new one and took my memory card out of the broken phone and put it in my new one. Does not work. Says it wont format. Everything is turned on like is supposed to be. What can I do? Kind of would like to be able to get my files off my card and use it on my new phone.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI attempted a jailbreak through jailbreakme.com but it didn't work and bricked the phone. So I restored to factory settings which put 4.0.2 on my phone. No biggie it wasn't that big of a deal to jailbreak anyway so I was just going to go back to my old settings on 4.0.2.
Unfortunately it backed up again real quick after updating and now when I want to restore from the backup it just gives me factory settings. I do have a big 8gb backup dated from before the jailbreak fiasco in MobileSync>Backup but I have no clue how to get it onto my phone.
The backup that comes up when I right click is from when I plugged it in today. I need the back up from yesterday.

Is it possible to somehow acces the calendar entries that are saved in a N8 backup file created by the Nokia Suite (v3.6.36), without restoring the backup to the N8 device?The background story:My N8 currently is not working, I have to take it to the service point. Now because I'm synchronizing my main calendar on the N8 with Microsoft Exchange, the Nokia Suite Calendar sync is off. But I had other calendars on my N8 (not synchronized with Exchange) and I'd like to access my calendar entries from there. I've made frequent backups of the whole calendar entries with Nokia Suite, so I hope I can somehow at least read my calendar entries from there.

I as hoping to use a SIM card adapter and pick up a Captivate or a future Android release and just switch back and forth as I wanted, just swapping the SIM in whichever phone I wanted to use.
From what the AT&T rep has told me, if I do that I will lose my iPhone data plan when the SIM is put into a non iPhone. Is this accurate? If you have an iPhone that's basically the only phone you can use unless you want to screw up your plan?

But when it is connected to a charger and subscription is not on it, it doesn't really do it. What could be the problem? I have flashed it, I have changed the battery all to no avail.

I have no clue why because I'm in Canada. So once a week I have to disable the WIFI and Data, then clear the cache for playstore and playstore service. Then re-activate WIFI and Data, then its all good for 1 week.
my phone keeps on switching from 3G to 2G and when ever it does that it took a while before the network comes back and i cant lock it to 2G permanently.

the very next day, the phone goes off. i left it to charge overnight, of which it only showed a little lightening bolt, with an empty battery which blinks about the same time as red light that shows when the phone is plugged to the charger up till the next morning when i woke up
And all attempts at switching on as failed. as i have tried holding down the power button at the same time as the volume down button and also tried the little red button next to the Sim slot. the phone doesn't vibrate or switch on
