BB Curve 8900 :: XML Parsing Error - Expecting Element?
Jul 22, 2010
I use a Blackberry 8900 curve. I use the internet alot and recently while using facebook on the browser (Personally I prefer using facebook this way) I get this message. I would like some help as it is rather annoying and I don't want to use the app.I have tried different browser configurations and they have not helped.
I am receiving an "error parsing message" on every e-mail I receive. The body of the message is not visible. All that shows up are the words "error parsing message body can not be shown"The name of the e-mail sender and the subject line come through but that's it. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I keep getting an error message that says "uncaught error: java.lang.null.pointerexception." I wiped out my handheld, but every time it restarts that message comes back up. When I go to my text messages, and I hit the "menu" button, nothing happens it just freezes and doesn't let me scroll up or down until I hit "menu" again.
When I view the email, I see none of the email content, and instead see "Error in parsing this message. Couldn't display the body part.I am able to receive and display other multiparty html emails with utf-8 encoding, but nothing i send seems to work.I have even changed the HTML content of the email to just "aaa" with no markup, but that doesn't work either.
i recently unblocked my blackberry 8900 handset to enable the wide range of networks available however when i now put my 02 sim card into the handset it shws the network as o2:uk and also pick up full signal bars but it will not let me call outwards or recieve any calls and it will not let me send or recieve any texts either. i then tried to call 112 (emergency call) and it flashed up again call failed! Phone not allowed MM#5 can you tell me what this means and if there is any solution? by the way im from the uk but i suppose all blackberrys have the same error codes
I am a new eager blackberry user, I got a 8900 recently. I was updating it this morning and was in a rush and I took out the battery by accident. this gave me the app error 205. I've read some of the forums involving this error where I should reboot the whole OS. The problem is that my DM reads the device. When I try to reupdate the phone it stops at the reading service information (roughly 7% of the bar) and it won't go further. I've also tried restoring the phone, but no luck. any help?
I upgraded my 8900 to 5.0.0.681 recently. After that, every once in a while, the phone goes into SOS mode with "Invalid Sim" error. This happens intermittently and gets fixed as soon as i restart the phone (not battery pull). Is something wrong with the upgrade? The phone is a factory unlocked phone.
Just last night I got the white screen with the reload software: 507 error. I was downloading some new apps my phone just crashed, so I tried to reload the software and all that. When at the loader app, the "waiting to initiate device" step, my phone turns on but with the error and the loader doesn't recognize my phone and asks me if I want to retry or cancel everything. I have tried a bunch of methods out there on the other forums, but they didn't work.
Earlier today I went to put some pictures of my Curve on to the computer so I plug it in etc. it then tells me I need to update the phone so I agree. It was taking a while to update and I had a bus to catch so against my better judgement I disconnected the phone and now I get the "App Error 205." So I ask what is the best way to fix this for a techno-noob and will I lose my contacts etc?
I'm trying to update my BB 8900 from 4.6.1 to 5 but am getting some errors. I get as far as the available versions ( using IE9 ) and i select 5.0 Bundle 1682 and I get the following error
There was an error updating your software This BlackBerry® Device Software upgrade includes new features and significant enhancements to the BlackBerry® solution and, as such, is only available to users with an active BlackBerry subscription. To learn more about BlackBerry® service, [URL]. Now I'm registered with BB. I have been using the desktop manager to try and update also but also getting errors. I havent unplugged the battery, and the laptop I'm using is a vista machine 32bit with loads of hard drive and loads of ram. I dont know what i'm doing wrong, I thought or figured it should be a pretty easy process.
Also I have downloaded "8900M_PBr5.0.0_rel1682_PL5.2.0.104_A5.0.0.1036_Vodafone_Ireland" and ran this but still now update.
I have a problem with my recent calls or rather the call log (sorry, but since English is not my mother language I might mix up the terms but let me explain)When I push the green phone button in the main menu I am used to finding a menu where i can see who I last called, who called me and so on. Little green and blue phone symbols next to the names indicate whether a call was incoming or outgoing. This menu does not work somehow. When I press the green button I get some kind of list, which looks pretty much like the one I just described and which always used to be there, but the phone icons and the timestamps are missing! So I cannot see, whether any given call was incoming or outgoing and what time the call was made.Is there any way to fix this? Can I somehow "reassign" the green phone button to my call log? Any help is greatly appreciated!
My BB 8900 is just about a week old. I had transferred a couple of videos and a few pics from my laptop on to the blackberry - and everything seemed fine for about a week. I was able to access both the videos & the pictures.
Now, for some strange reason, I'm getting the following error for my media card (and this is every time I plug out my BB from the USB connection to the laptop).
Following is the error -->
" ..A media card has been inserted that contains errors. To correct the errors please use a disk erro checking utility on a computer .. "
Now I can't access the videos and the pics on my phone. They dont seem to exist. The folders are all empty. But strangely, when I hook up my phone via USB to my laptop, I can still see the video & pic files in the Blackberry folder.
Q1 - What seems to be the problem? Is my media card corrupted ? If so, is this possible? since my unit is only about a week old.
Q2 - What is the appropriate way to plug/ unplug the USB from the Blackberry? I usually just plug it out . has this caused any problems, by any chance ?
I installed the official release for OS 5... and On boot I keep getting the following error Uncaught Exception: Application net_rim_bb_phone_app(54) is not responding; process terminated {ok}
I press okay and the phone seems to run okay, but it bugs me, any ideas?
When upgrading yesterday the process never finished. After 3 hours the status bar was still in the same place in the reboot phase. It seemed as if the entire computer was frozen. I couldn't do anything on it. I had to reboot the computer. Now when the phone comes on it freezes at the ATT screen. I am sure it is because the process didn't complete. How do I complete the process?
Im new to the blackberry and have looked around other forums & technical centre and havn't found any way to solve my issues although i did find something about caller id problems.
1) When people send me long SMS i.e over 160 characters long i keep recieving them in separate SMS and it becomes very confusing.i have owned over 7 different phones in the past and this has never been a problem. Is there any way to solve this?
2) Quite often when someone calls me, i only seem to be able to see the callers number and not the Name, this is frustating as i have no idea who is ringing.
I have had my BB Curve 8900 since Nov 2009 and have it on a 18month contract with Orange. I find the coverage were I live is terrible I am in the B73 postcode, this is Sutton Coldfield in the swest Mest Midlands, this was depite being told by the staff in the Phones 4U shop that the coverage was good, so any tips on this would be greatefully recieved, this however is not my masin gripe. When I first downloaded Ubertwitter it worked fine but now I have the following problem. The application Ubertwitter has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy.
I've a problem with the settings of the synchronisation of my calender. I am able to sync 2-ways on contacts - in these settings I am able to choose outlook express & than 2 ways synchronisation. I cannot choose this kind of settings for my calender. I'm using: windows 7 with outlook 2010. I've downloaded the latest version of the Black Berry Desktop manager.
I am using 8900 curve. Whenever I play any media like audio, video, sometimes it is working fine but randomly it is popping up with the error "error when attempted play xyz which is quite unpredictable." I even update the software using desktop manager !
I'm running the newest OS 5.0.0.681, and every time I reboot I get an "uncaught exception java.lang.Error". After I hit "OK" everything seems to run fine, but the error just won't go away. This is the second time it's doing this...the first time it happened I thought a wipe and reinstall would fix it, but it just came back. I don't know what app might be causing this (if it's indeed an app).
The third-party ones I have installed are:
FancyTran Gmail Google Maps Ka-Glom Pandora Poynt UberTwitter WeatherBug
I also have App World, Twitter for BlackBerry, and Facebook installed. I've tweaked dozens of times with Application Permissions but the little error just won't go away!
I have a bb curve 8300 from sprint and for 4 times in a row with two phones, i have an error message that pops up after taking out the battery. every time i get it the sprint store resets the phone and wipes all my contacts and calendar entries. this is getting very frustrating and making me want to get rid of my blackberry even though i like it a lot. once i get the error message is says resent under it and if you press it, it looks like its starting up again but then the error message comes up and that it. it just does it over and over again.
I have tried many steps but return results is the same1 - I've reset several imes (by removing the battery, the combination of keys)2 - Installed BlackBerry Desktop Software for PC and BlackBerry 8900 is dentifiedbut not allow me to do any action.3 - I tried to date Desktop Software, but I have the latest version.4 - was supposed o update software on my 8900 in line but after almost three hours and not see any
My 8900 has always been a bit temperamental re MMS but this time I think it's dying :-(
All was fine until yesterday afternoon when I took the battery out while it was still switched on to reboot as it was being really slow and it came back up with an error message: uncaughtexception: java.lang.NullPointerException and all my MMS have disappeared! Also when I go to my photos as if I were going to send one as an MMS the option to 'send as MMS' has gone?!
I called T mobile and they made me do something with the host routing table (?) in advanced options which had no effect and then basically said there is nothing they can do (marvellous!) and there are some pics and messages on there that are really important to me that I don't want to lose :-(
I don't have any kind of back up stuff (see? told you I was technical ;-) on my laptop as I don't know what to download or even if it will work?
I've not got any applications or anything on there and I haven't done anything different lately- does anyone have any ideas?
Im having loads of trouble with my 8900.. i did a battery pull, but when i restarted, i got the message uncaught expectation: net rim.device.api.system unsupported operation exception ... when i pressed ok, i couldnt see my sms, email, facebook or BBM. I did several battery pulls but its not working.. one of the times my SMS reappeared, but nothing else..
I have always been able to use my phone with no problem from my home--until a week ago. Since last Saturday, I have been unable to make or receive most phone calls (about 1 in 20 go through). There are absolutely no problems outside of my neighborhood and no reports of service failures in my neighborhood. When people call me, it goes straight to voicemail, and I will randomly (within two hours or so) receive notification of a voicemail.I have already had my SIM card replaced, and today I had my phone replaced, with no solution.
I have a problem with trying to log into my wireless router when I am at home using my BB. I am entering the right address to log into the routers login page, trouble is all I'm getting is the following error message:The server returned the following error while attempting to fulfil your request: "Connection timed out"
I can get on the internet no problem, have even turned off my O2 network and just left my wireless network on and can still get on the web so know the router is letting me connect, have even tried to change the browser from BB to Firefox to IE but still no joy.
