Jun 29, 2012I had a Curve 9300 and it broke I got a substitute phone until they could fix it, but I wanted to use bbm so I asked my sister who had a Curve 8520 if I could use it as she is now using a HTC. She said yes and today I got it. I restored to factory condition and set it up, but when I turn it on it won't let me use my network. It says it is connected to the 3 network and that I have a valid simcard, but when I try to use bbm or text it won't work. I only really want it for bbm.

Jan 17, 2010I got my blackberry curve 8520 on friday, o2 contract, registered it all, sorted and working, then on sat swapped my pay and go number to my contract number so i wouldn't have to tell everyone. they said it would take 24 hours to swap so i wouldn't be able to text which i was fine about.ts now been more then 24 hours and whenever i try to send an SMS i shows a X and says "Network out of order". I can email, blackberry messenger, call, facebook send and recieve etc. only thing i cant do is send a SMS?

Since Thursday night I've been receiving a SOS signal from my pay as you go Blackberry 8520 when I'm in my apartment or on my block. Or worse, it will say I have full coverage but I can't send or receive phonecalls or messages. If I walk two blocks in any direction the signal comes back. I've been to the Vodafone store multiple times and with the language barrier they keep telling me nothing is wrong. I finally got them to give me a new sim card today hoping that would fix it but i still can't get any signal. I'm sure it's probably something to do with the network but really, for three/four days?? I've lived in the same apartment for the past 4 months with absolutely no problem. I only have a week left in Italy with this phone but it's frustrating because I have to stay home and study for finals and now I can't get into contact with anyone. I've tried the battery pull, wiping my device, changing my SIM card...literally everything I can think of.

May 17, 2012I have a problem where I cannot connect to my mobile network - Orange with it saying "Initialisation Failed". I try to manually connect to the network but it can't find any "Scan for networks failed". It also has my mobile network down as Vodafone UK for some reason. I've tried rebooting the phone but to no effect.

Jun 20, 2011My children are unable to connect their Blackberrys to the home network with this new router(Thomson Techni-color 582?). With the previous router (585?) all they had to do was scan for available networks and then when ours appeared they put in the password.But with this one when you scan and find the network and try to connect you get the message "this wireless router supports wi-fi protected setup. To connect using a PIN (which your Blackberry will generate), click Next". Then when you click Next you get an 8 number code. it doesn't give you the opportunity to put in the network password.Please tell me how to connect the Blackberrys to our network.

When trying to connect my Blackberry to the network, it finds my Home Network but then tells me that the Router supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup. To connect using a PIN (which my Blackberry will generate, click Next. I click next and the mobile generates an 8 digit number with the message "Enter this PIN into your wireless router."I cannot find a way to enter a PIN into the Netgear Router and all attempts to get help from Netgear have failed to solve the problem.The latest advice from Netgear was that I should contact Blackberry.Incidentally, the Wireless Printer and the Wireless Laptop both work inconjunction with the Router, as does the PC which is hard wired to the Router.

Jan 30, 2012I have a home WiFi network and can connect my BB 8520 curve to it successfully and it is able to browse and use apps etc. How-ever everyday or two even though it remains connected to WiFi it suddenly is not able to browse. I need to restart the BB or Router or both and then it reconnects and can browse again. What could be causing this ?I am unable to add or be added to other BB's in terms of using the IM. Contacts that I am trying to add remain in pending (waiting for authorization). I do not have a data plan with my 3G network provider as I only want to use data related functions when connected to my home Wi-Fi. What could be causing the problem?

Apr 11, 2012I brought my BlackBerry a few weeks back, and brought the Data Plan (£5 for BBM, Internet etc for 1 month)... IT was working PERFECTLY until yesterday Morning... I woke up, checked my BBM as usual, Ended all the chats that were Broadcast Messages blah blah blah, and went to speak to one of my Contacts on BBM... THe message wouldnt send... I thought it's probably just slow or something.... Yet im still having the same problems now... Nearly 2 days it hasnt worked now, and it's getting very annoying!
Features that are being affected are;
- BBM
- Facebook App
- App World
- Browser
This is one message I usally get while trying to use the Browser:
"Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later.
If the problem persists please contact your service provider."
Another thing that's really annoyed me is the fact that most people with a Similar problem to my has "gprs" in Lower Case letters, yet i have "GPRS" in Capitals, yet still not working.. I admit, on the rare occasion i can send a message but it takes ages, usually about 30 minutes. No matter where I go, whether it's my house, the woods, the town, anywhere, im getting the same problem, whereas before, I could go anywhere, including those 3 place and it would be FINE!!
I've done everything I could, Battery Removal, Wipe, SImple turned the Mobile Network off, then back on... NOTHING is helping!!
Until yesterday morning i had NO problems what so ever, then suddenly I get this!!!

Aug 31, 2010my BB used to connect to my wireless network but for some odd reason it doesnt anymore: it recognizes the network but cannot connect to the internet. On the other hand, it connects to any other network: ive successfully connected to many friends wireless and many restaurants' wireless without any problem. Jul 8, 2010i just got my blackberry a few days back on a plan with vigin media with unlimited internet it was working fine until a few days back where whenever i clicked the browser it would say "there is insufficient network coverage to process your request. please try again." i do not understand why this is happening as it was working a few days back i have tried a few battery pulls but it has still not worked for me. I have even switched my phone on and off and turned all connections of and restored them. I really do not know what to do as i can know longer browse the web or recieve emails.
