BB Curve 8520/8530 :: Allowing User To Create Signature For Text Messages?
Jun 21, 2010Does anybody know if the bb 8520 is capable of allowing the user to create a signature for text messages? I looked through the book and didn't find anything about, so Im wondering if there is a way to do this??

Aug 22, 2012my 8520 stopped working around a month and a half ago maybe a little longer, it wouldnt charge when plugged into the charger, i tried a veriety of different things to see if it worked but nothing did, i have now bought a new battery for my 8520, before putting the new battery in, i decided to try and turn my phone on with my old battery in it, but had no luck. so i took my old battery out and placed my new one in and the red light came on in the top right corner, it then came up with a charging sign on the screen then a red cross appeared ontop of it, a loading bar then came on underneath it and it grew longer very slowly, so i thought i'd leave it to see if it needed time to charge and load, when i came ack to have a look at it after about 15 mins it looked exactly the same so i then tried turning my phone on/off bye pressing the red end call button, when i did that the battery with the red cross through went off the screen and then the word 'blackberry' in white writing appeared as if it was then being switeched on and then the little loading sign came on underneath, shortly after that it just went back

Apr 9, 2012My wife has a curve 8520. when she tries to use the browser to sign in to yahoo email she fills in her userid and password but the sign in button dosn't work, nothing happens when she clicks it does she have to enable something in the browser configuration? she doesn't have a Blackberry data plan as yet so we realise she can't use BBM or facebook app etc but I would have thought the browser should work as she has an internet plan.

Apr 20, 2011I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 on contract with Virgin mobile. After an unfortunate incident with a puppy my phone ended up scratched, I do not have insurance so instead I looked for another model. I bought a Blackberry Curve 9300 off Ebay which stated it was unlocked to all networks except 3.
When I received it I put my SIM card in and it came up as Tmobile. I searched for a new network but it shows me all networks (including 3) except for Virgin. Does this mean I wont be able to use my SIM card at all? Or do I just need to take it to be unlocked again?

Apr 5, 2011Hey anyone have a link to Blackberry Desktop Software v5...or even v4? V6 has been giving me nightmares since it came out.
I can never get my organizer to allow sync of my contacts...the check box is inaccessible and it states "Not Installed".
I completely uninstalled the application, removed all of the folders and cleaned the registry them reinstalled the program but still have the problem. The last time the Blackberry Desktop Software worked was a very early version of 5 or maybe v4,
BB Curve :: 8530 Won't Receive Or Allowing To Make Calls / Texts
Dec 6, 2011It's a blackberry 8530, it wont let me make calls, just says 'call failed' also wont allow people to call me. This is the same for texts, I am not sure if this has something to do with it, but it doesn't seem to tell me my number? For example in the call log, it says 'my number:' but blank... and then also on options>SIM card> the 'phone number' is blank to.

Feb 19, 2010My wife accidently going through her contacts went to the very top where there's a drop down menu for Phone or Contacts. It went to Contacts. Now whenever she goes to her contacts a message pops up saying Sign In or Sign Up to OVI. She's been on the phone now with Nokia for 2 hours trying to resolve.Anyone out there have any ideas?
And by the way, are other brands of phones this bad, what with setting up loops like this can't be broken. Or, like what I've read here and elsewhere, all the problems with the Lock Code? I mean, it seems Nokia needs to go back to the drawing board and work on their user interface.

Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.

Sep 22, 2012I can't turn my phone on.For the last week, every time I plugged the charger in, the screen would go white, and then a battery with a red cross through would show up.If I removed and replaced the battery several times then eventually it would reboot, I took to a phone shop yesterday and they unscrewed the phone and re-screwed it together again, and the battery sign didn't appear again and appeared to be working fine again.However, last night I attempted to charge the phone again, and the battery sign appeared again and now will not go off. Aug 11, 2010I have an ATT 8520 Curve unlocked to work with a tmobile sim card and have a few questions...Now that's unlocked I cant setup an external email account (hotmail, gmail, etc...) that icon is missing from the setup section. how can I get that feature? can I also use the bbm feature? I added a friend (and vice-versa) but it just stays as pending. is it possible to bbm? for the above 2 do i need to get the bb data plan so they can work? I've read elsewhere that the best way to get the features would be to load the tmobile handheld software. I went to tmobiles site, I enter my ph# - select the 8520 - click on handheld and it takes me to their 'shop for phones' page. I guess they now by the number that i dont currently have a bb. So I tried a friends ph# from tmobile who has a bb and it still took me to the 'shop for phones' page. So I Am hoping it's just a link glitch going on right now. I did download from this forum the 5.0 OS "8520wifiM_PBr5.0.0_rel860_PL5.2.0.47_A5.0.0.509_W ind_Hellas.exe" which obviously is not tmobile. What would loading this different OS allow me to do? Or what features will I have available? and I have lowercase 'edge'.
