I have Blackberry 8520. earlier I was using Nokia E 90.I transferred my contacts from Nokia to CSV file and got them coverted to .ipd file using Amber vCard onverter. I restored the .ipd file into my Black berry using Desktop Manager. The software shows 784 contacts and that is same as it was in my E 90.
However when I select contacts in my Blackberry I dont see them. However Desktop manager shows 784 contacts. Please tell how do I see these contacts in my Black berry.
Had changed to a different mobile for a week and now when I moved back to BB,am not able to see any of the old contacts which I had saved in the phone..
My Blackberry Curve 8520 indicated that I must upgrade my bbm to a newer version before I could continue using it. I upgraded my bbm, but now all my contacts are gone! How can I get them back? I'm on Vodacom in South Africa
I have a Curve 8520, and have recently developed a problem. When I open contacts to search for an address it freezes. I can escape by hitting menu and switching application to the home page again. Eventually I get an error message telling me I have an "uncaught exception" it tells me that the app is not responding and the process has been terminated. When it first happened I called Orange my provider and they sent me a new handset, I retained the battery and reloaded and then funnily enough new phone started same issue. It is using software v 5.0 so I followed advice on blackberry and tried to reload software but that has not worked?
My 8520 has done this since it was new (now 1.5 yrs old), and I'm sick and tired of it. When I get a call or text from someone on my contact list, about half the time it only shows the Number but not the Contact Name. This is very frustrating b/c I obviously don't have all my Contact numbers memorized, and so don't know who is sending me a text or phone call (this is especially annoying while texting!!!)I've talked with my service provider multiple times and they have tried to help, but say it's really an RIM issue and needs to be address by them.

I just updated my blackberry to the newest version and I DID backup my contacts. So after the update it completely messed up my phone. It added like all my aim contacts for some reason and there are no numbers in the phone with names. How am i supposed to get the aim and facebook contacts off and my normal numbers back on?
I was doing a sync after the last BB OS update and when i was done - it had copied every contact twice so i had double the amount of contacts on my BB than on my computer, so i delete one of every pair and the next time i did a backup and a sync, it erased all my contacts on my computer.
Ok so my wife just got a 8530 like me. She originally set the ringtone for sms to one. Then changed it to another. Well the new ringtone she set for that profile, is not showing up for all contacts. It is still showing old ringtone! I tried switching but still stays the same. Only way to change is by individualy contacts.
I have to hand them in my Blackberry Bold 9000. Getting a Blackberry Curve 8520 tomorrow. Can I restore my contacts etc. on the Curve 8520? I've backed them up to my laptop with Blackberry Desktop Manager.
Okay, so my brother got the new BlackBerry Storm and gave me his old BlackBerry Curve 8520 and I can't get the BlackBerry Messenger to work. I can't add contacts on it, and when people try to add me I don't get a notification. My web browser also doesn't work, even though I'm connected to a wireless internet.
Off topic, but how do I send stuff from my computer to my BB, by bluetooth, or is there a wire?
I have a Curve 8520 and would like to edit my contacts on my laptop instead of the device.Outlook 2007 does not want so sync with my device, nor does using Excel work.Would someone point me in the right direction?
I receive this message whenever I try to access the "New Contact" option on my blackberry curve 8520 "Application net_rim_bb_addressbook_app(255)". I can't add new contacts nor can I edit existing contacts! I've already tried removing the battery whilst the phone is on.
We took delivery yesterday of a Bold 9900 to replace my daughters 8520. We thought it would be easy to get going but it appears that contacts on her phone can only be copied one at a time to her SIM which we will then have to put in her new Bold 9900. O2 suggested there was an option to do all the contacts in one go but we cant see that! I tried installing the desktop software on her laptop from her original curve CD. We then went through a series of updates, crashed her curve enentually got it working again) and ended up non the wiser. What is the safest and most reliable method of backing up and then copying Contacts to her new phone. Not to worried about other stuff as she can reinstall facebook etc and a can copy photos on to her PC.
