Well guys, I'm going to give the new Samsung Epic a shot in a day or so. I need a way to transfer all of my contacts from this phone onto the Epic. I understand that syncing it with a gmail account is one way. I just don't know how to go about it.if there is a better way please let me know! Going to a Sprint store is not am option for me, sorry. I live on an island 30 miles out to see
My Photon 4 G does not sync calendar, contact, Gmail with my company Gmail account. I believe that it just stopped syncing last week and I believe that it was following a Motorola update, but cannot say for sure. Under Data Delivery, both Background Data and Data enabled are checked green. However, this is interesting because Email and corporate sync is grayed out on that screen. When I go to Account, checking the sync options is not possible, but I can do a manual sync. Please note, at one time, these options to sync Contacts, Gmail and Calendar were available. I've pulled the batter. I really do not want to reset to factory default. Suggestions? (Please note this is a company Gmail account, not just regular Gmail.)
I have an 8350i BoostBerry. Gmail is putting a "1" in front of my number @myboostmobile.com address and I don't get the email on my phone. Let me try to clarify.I can send an email from Gmail (PC) to my phone, but I do NOT put a 1 in front of the number, just the area code and number, so it goes through fine. I reply to it, then go back to the PC and when I go to reply back to the phone, I see that it has a 1 in front of the email address and it doesn't go through to the phone. Is there some kind of setting that I could change so that it doesn't add that 1? Wht would it be adding the 1 in the first place? Maybe when the phone replies it has the 1 and Gmail is just copying that and adding it to the email address? PLEASE help as I use this phone for business and I NEED to have my emails coming through properly.
Still new to the whole thing of using Boost on my 8350i. So far I followed the insutrucions, the calls are going in out, Direct Connect is good to go, my gmail and google voice apps are installed and working. Is there a yahoo version that would deliver my yahoo mail without going thru the browser? How about integration with my exchange server at work? I did a lot of reading and searching on this forum but could not find anything that would address these two "wishlist items"
I've read around the forums and elsewhere but haven't found a solution yet Have an 8350i and with the Mobile network off (Nextel) I turn on wifi (both at home and at work) and it connects to the network, icon is white not gray Data service is on and was working before (had the phone for 9 months). I recently connected to desktop manager for the first time and updated all available programs, firmwares, etc, I'm assuming this is the root of the problem. Gmail and Facebook apps won't connect, (you need a working data connection bla bla) and same with Browser app.Any solution that doesn't involve downgrading, wiping clean? (I've pulled the battery, turned wifi on and off with no results)
I have a Nextel Blackberry 8350i that is set up on the Boost network and Im trying to set up a blackberry email account so that I can forward my work emails to my blackberry. When I try to set it up using the Nextel or Sprint link on the blackberry website, it tells me that: Your BlackBerry® Internet Service Account is suspended or deactivated. Please contact your wireless service provider at 1-800-639-6111. When I call that number, they tell me they cant help me because im on the boost network. When I call boost they tell me they cant help me because I have a NEXTEL blackberry...Can someone please help me get this email thing set up?
For the past two or three day my X10a (2.1) had continually been trying to sync to my Gmail account. I can turn auto-sync or the data off to make it stop, but once turned back out it starts up again. I have deleted most of my newer mail in case there was something bad included with the mail. Not sure what my next step would be. With the phone trying to sync all the time make it slow to respond to commands.
I have a good Gmail account with lots of contacts and calendar entries. My device had been synched with this account until this morning when I did a restore from a date prior to having set up the gmail account. I added the gmail account back to the Torch after the restore, and the mail is functioning fine. But the contacts and calendar are not synching between the Torch and the gmail account.
I have checked settings-accounts and everything is checked to sync and it shows it sync'd earlier today but when I log into my gmail account and select contacts there is nothing there. How do I go about backing up this information to my gmail account?
I've just set up a new gmail account and want to sync the contacts from my work phone to contacts in my gmail. I have nearly 700 contacts to sync so I'm looking to do this in the easiest (and most reliable!) way I can - any pointers? Or tips on how to make sure I don't lose them all in the process of syncing?
Used to sync and back up on work computer. Now using my home laptop (don't ask - was there 12 years & it WAS home. Fired due to reorganization.). HP computer now recognizes my phone, but I do not know how to get the software set up to accept GMAIL. The defaults are for YAHOO, which I do not use.
my Bold 9900. Is it possible to setup e-mail service to sync read e-mail.
I there comes new mail to my Gmail account, it immediately appears in my Bold also. If I read this mail on BB, it is marked as read also in my desktop client and on web interface. But if I read new mail in web interface or desktop client it remains marked as unread in Bold (even after few hours!) and I must mark as readed manualy in phone.
Since downloading the new Nokia Messaging client 10.2.0.4 (Main) on my N97 Mini (11.0.045) it refuses to sync with my gmail account (it worked prior to downloading the new client via Software update on the phone).
I've tried changing the "When to Sync" setting to soonest or 15 mins etc but that makes no difference. If I change the access point it will open a connection (which it wont have done until this point) but still no sync. It never seems to close the connection, unless the phone is rebooted.Anyone have the new messaging client working ?
i have an 8350i and so does my friend. MOST of my icons are white and work fine. his are colored and also work fine. how can i get my icons to be colored?
i got my college account which is <removed>@berklee.edu but it is a gmail account. I mean i access to the account through gmail.I can't seem to set it up on my blackberry, how do i do it?i try to setup a gmail account, but obviosly the phone is recognizing <removed>@berklee.edu@gmail.comthe full username is the email address i first gave.
The track-pad on my BlackBerry Curve 3G 9330 stopped working so Sprint replaced my BlackBerry earlier today and I haven't received an email yet on my new BlackBerry. Email setup brings me to the screen where I, "Move Email Accounts", and after I click it, it says that the device change was successful and prompts me to enter my password. After doing so, it takes me to a screen to synchronize my contacts and when I click that, it says, "Activation failed. An error was encountered when sending the activation transmission." I REALLY don't feel like running down to Sprint again and asking them to configure the email for me. I need my emails.
I am not able to configure my gmail account on my BB as it was working fine couple of times back. Recently i have changed my password for my gmail. Tried all the ways but still not able to.
I can configure a new email id and its working without any issues.
Tried to wipe the data and re-configured but still not happening. getting gmail configured on my BB.
Have been trying to connect to my gmail account to no success. Response on screen: Unable to connect to the internet... Thing is my yahoo and every other are active but Gmail is a struggle.
Now that Boost will be legitimately offering a BB, the 8330, is it worth getting rid of the 8350i? I NEVER use DC, and is gaining the 3g speeds worth losing wifi over? Are there any other details I left out that would be a dividing factor?
E-mail reconciliation is not working for me with my Gmail account. When I read an e-mail on my BB, it isn't being marked as read in my Gmail. It also isn't working the other way: when I read an e-mail on my computer, my BB doesn't mark it as read.
How can I fix this? E-mail reconciliation in my options is already turned on.
I don't know if my thread title makes sense but basically what I would like to know is what are the advantages of downloading the Gmail app vs just setting up a Gmail account through my BIS (Email Settings/Add Account)? My main objective here is wireless contacts sync. I have read a lot of negative feedback regarding Gmail on a BlackBerry but I will not really even be using this for email all to often, although I will from time to time. What I have done is just added my new Gmail account through the native BlackBerry email setup and then downloaded Google Sync. I downloaded the Gmail app but I didn't really like the UI and I like to have all 3 of my email accounts go into the same folder.
I am trying to sync my gmail calendar to my blackberry, but apparently I need a physics degree or similar to be able to do so...... I used to use google synch, but this no longer works & they have stopped supporting it for blackberry, so no help there. Reading through many forums I saw that I could use BIS to do this. Have downloaded what I think is BIS but mystified about what to do next. I only want to synch my gmail calendar to my blackberry one, how hard can it be?
So i had an old gmail account and all my contacts were synced with that one and so then i deleted that one and created a new gmail so now that im trying to sync my gmail contacts with my new gmail it wont let me it just syncs new contacts that i add not the ones that have been on my phone and in each contacts it says "synchronized with: (my old gmail)" and i wanted to know how i can change the old gmail sync with my new gmail sync i've also tried google sync and that doesnt work at all either so i would appreciate some help with this problem.
I just got a new curve 9320. Earlier is was using 8520 with google sync and used to sync my contact with gmail contacts. But since I got this device, my contacts are not syncing with gmail contacts. I have selected the options to sync contacts in the email settings and my BIS is working absolutely fine but I don know why contacts are not syncing.
i like to add the birthdays to my contact list, and even though I've unchecked the box for syncing the calendar, bdays still show up when i add a new contact.
i just bought the iphone4 and everytime i try to log into my gmail account on my phone it says my password or account is incorrect but i can log on with the same information on my laptop and it works.. i changed my pw 3 times and it still wont work on my phone but it does on the computer..
