I'm a new BB 8330m user (carrier is Sprint).I have an icon for Pocket Express (which came with the phone) on my screen that I can't remove. I have deleted it from the applications list and do not see it in the modules list but the icon still shows.I also have icons that have the "Hide" checked but are not really hidden. The icon looks as though it is transparent.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy wife's 8330 BB Curve is missing the icons. I have tried to follow directions given but NOTHING happens when I go back to home screen and hit O (options) not the 0 (zero) so what now. She can make calls, get to message from green call button but thats a PAIN as u know!
View 4 Replies View RelatedOne fateful morning I awoke to a message asking if I wanted to update my phone with new (stuff of some kind) it said If I did not want the update or did not understand the message to select NO. Not understanding the offer I selected NO and watched as the screen went through a series of deleting this, deleting that, deleting something else messages, until everything was gone. No screens, no icons, no nothing.
Since then I had 6 hours of on line help downloading and installing software there was progress restoring the icons except for one. The on line helper said after we were through I should take out the battery and put it back in for full restoration. However after taking out the battery I lost all the icons again.
BB 8330. Have two mail accounts (Google and Yahoo), with different ringtones. Somehow the tone for one would ring for the other. Pulled battery and redid the ringtone. No luck. Deleted the mail from the phone and then reinstalled them, now I have no mail icons.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI see people regularly have icons/symbols on their display that they don't know what they stand for. Now I've got one ... it's close to the top, to the right on where of where the symbols show you have messages and/or voicemails. This one looks like a smiley face with a star over the left eye. There's a number 1 next to it. Help please.
Also, where is the master chart from BlackBerry, or the carrier, the deciphers these. It seems to be a common problem that's not covered very well in the user's manual.Isn't there a link somewhere to the master chart?My phone is an 83** with Sprint.
I recieved my Curve 8520 6 days ago and I am still waiting on my service provider contacting me about the Blackberry Tariff HOWEVER when setting up my phone using the Wizard Setup I did not have two options for the email setup, only Enterprise Email Activation...I have never had one, this is my first Blackberry. How do I apply the other option of Add An Email Address? Or does this mean that the phone has been used by someone else (even though it was bought from my service provider "brand new"), or a fault has arisen? What can be done?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a BB newbie but recently received one for work. My problem is trying to transfer the contacts from my old cell phone (Sanyo SCP-7050) to my new Curve 8330. I took it to my local Sprint store and they said the contacts can't be transferred because the BB is registered on a BES. The Bluetooth connection won't work either, I assume for the same reason.Am I out of luck or is there some other way I can get the contacts into my BB? I have the contacts stored as individual business card files (.vcf) and was hoping there is a way to use the micro SD card to load them on somehow.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter trying 3 days to get my BB 8310 Curve connected to my network provider (I do have a data plan and internet plan) Iīm a little bit upset.
The problem: I have all necessary data-plans and also registered my BB on the internet at the Web-Page (BIS?).Ok, my handheld is also recognised and the system doesnīt complain.But: on my handheld I can see only the word "edge" (in small letters - this shows that no data-plan is active as we know, but thatīs not true) and not "EDGE" as it should be.An even better suspicicous issue: I called with the hotline from my provider and he also could see within his database that my handheld is registered and all plans were active.
So I tried following:
I inserted my SIM to another BB and it worked! (not so with my BB)
I also inserted another SIM from my colleague (who also uses a BB) and what happened? Nothing - also no connection.
So I assume that thereīs somehow a bug in my handheld? Has anybody an idea? I would very appreciate it.
By the way, I have the latest OS:
Package Version: 4.5.0.312
Consisting of:
* Applications: 4.5.0.187
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.109

I've updated my desktop to v5.0, but everytime i click the link on the website it tells me i have the current version. i checked under "about" and i have v. 4.5.0.175. View 6 Replies View RelatedI've noticed this a couple of times with different contacts on Blackberry Messenger: I send them a message and it gets marked D for delivered. It then shortly thereafter is marked "A" for answered, and I receive a response to my message, all which makes sense. But sometimes I've noticed that my message is marked A, as if they've answered me, but I never receive a message back. Does this mean that they answered me and I just never received the message? That they've received my message and ended the conversation?Just wanting to understand why my message would be marked A when it doesn't appear to have been answered. any ideas?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a 8350i through Nextel. A couple of weeks ago my BB shut itself off and then turned itself back on. I did not think much of it until it started happening very frequently. When I say frequently, I mean every 10 minutes. Quite frustrating for a phone that I use for work. I took it to a local service department but they did not know what was going on so they just swiped the software and reloaded it. This resolved the issue for about 24 hours and then it has started again. It was sporadic again with about a day between each one but it has since become a very frequent issue again. It is happening about 5 times a day that I know of.I am currently running Version 4.6.1.313.

View 3 Replies View Relatedmy Blackberry started doing something rather strange 2 days ago while it was sitting on the table for about 3 hours in stand by or whatever it does when you aren't using it. When I picked it up it was really hot even in its holster and I noticed that the battery was critical so I plugged it in after 30 mins it wouldn't charge so I took the battery off the BB allowed it to cool and placed it in the Blackberry again this time it charged and works fine then again today it does it again. Today I disabled Bluetooth and wireless prior to it happening so I know its something else.Now I would normally suspect a bad battery but if so it wouldn't charge and work normally would it?As for performance the only quirk that mine has is that once in a while it freezes (goes to hourglass) for 2 - 3 mins once it did it while I was dialing a call.Its on the latest os or so it says the blackberry desktop.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to upgrade the 1GB Micro SD card in my BlackBerry Curve 8320 to allow more music tracks to be stored. I want to know what's the largest size card that will work in his model? I understand that this is dependant on the operating system version. So I downloaded the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager (version 5.0.1), and this offered to upgrade the OS in my phone. The version on the phone is now v4.5.0.174 (Platform 2.7.0.105). Presumably the 8320 cannot be upgraded to version 5. I've also seen this link:URL...
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe speakers on my Blackberry 8330 appear not to be working. Even if I have the volume type set as loud it will just use vibrate when calls come in. I took out the battery and put it back in and it's still not working. If I try to play a song or ring tone, it will show it playing but I'll hear nothing, however I can still hear people talk during calls. I don't think this is caused by damage, my phone is about 8 months old and I've dropped it a few times (the worst probably from table height) but I wouldn't consider those serious falls.I need to know if this is something i can fix myself or if I have to mail in my phone to get it repaired.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a new HP Pavilion dv6-2150us laptop w/windows Home Premium 64 bit os. i have had nothing but problems with this computer and my BB (Curve 8330m; U.S. Cellular)since purchase. I loaded the DTM into the new computer from the disc I got w/the phone (v 4.5), set it up to connect w/my Outlook 2007 and it worked, once. the next time I started the computer the DTM would launch but it could not find the phone, it reads "Device connected (PIN): None" in the bottom left of the window. It shows up in the Device Manager as connected, though. I uninstalled it and reinstalled the newest version 5.0.1 and tried it again. It worked once. Next time I started the computer, same thing as above. I came to the BB site and looked at the KBs, tried the things listed, updating BIOS, etc. etc. Nothing I have done has worked. I'm getting pretty frustrated, and wasting alot of time here at work. Any help would be appreciated.

View 7 Replies View RelatedFor some reason I am only receiving a portion of my emails on my 8330 blackberry curve. I have had my carrier's support desk (Verizon) walk me through procedures to make sure I am capable of receiving these messages (which I am receiving on my computer, but not all show up on the blackberry).........and now I am hearing from Verizon that I need to contact Blackberry support. Is there a # to call? I don't know where to start. I can see on the Blackberry email setup icon that I have my verizon email address listed there with the correct password (and again, I am receiving some messages, just not all). Am I missing something here?
p.s. Also, I can't tell a difference between the emails that show up and those that do not...it's not like it's all the 'gmail and yahoo' messages that I don't receive, for instance...seems to be random.
I have a Blackberry Curve through Verizon Wireless. Everytime I send an email from my phone using my registered Yahoo account, it sits in my "messages" section, but never sends the email. I have tried a hard reboot, and I have made sure the phone is registered with the network, but I am getting NO WHERE.
