Apr 4, 2012My iPhone 4S shows no interest in using my alias email address as the default choice for sending and receiving email, even though I've changed the settings in iCloud. Mail persists in using my Apple ID as the default sending email address. It's a minor nuisance as my name shows up either way, but I'd like the correct email address to show.

All went well, except when I open up the Desktop Manager to sync my calendar and address book, DM gives me the following error message: The default service for your device's "address book" is no longer available. The new service for synchronization is "blahblah@wrongemail.com"
I have five email addresses linked to my Bold (yahoo, gmail, live, etc) and I want it to sync with my work address book and calendar (not blahblah@wrongemail.com). It had no problem doing this before the wipe...
I have gone in to options/advanced options/default services and changed both options (CICAL and CMIME) to my work email address, but I still get the error message. I even went so far as to delete all five email addresses and start adding them from scratch...making sure that I added my work email address first...figuring that may set it as default.

Feb 18, 2010I have multiple email addresses on my phone (Work, School (2), and Gmail). I have set my work email as the default under default services under advanced options. If I am in messages and I use the menu to compose a new email, the correct default email (work) is used.
However, if I am browsing my files, like a picture, and I use the menu to select send as email, it will attach it to a new email but it will be my Gmail address, not my default work address as the from address.
I have double checked and my work email is set as the default. Does anyone know how to fix this? This is not a battery pull problem either... It has been this was since I got the phone, and on my replacement as well. I reboot the phone often so its not the standard do a battery pull answer.

After that i have to fill in my mailadress and password. When I fill it in, it says it is wrong and i cannot do anything more. How can i skip this part and just add an extra mailadress? I dont want to change my excisting mailadress, just add another one

Mar 19, 2010I just sent an e-mail to myself from my blackberry and chose to send from my gmail account, but instead it just decided it might be better to send it from my work e-mail address? How do I fix this? It's absolutely unacceptable and I really hate to know who else now has my work e-mail address because of this. My phone tells me it sent from the correct e-mail address, but the address showing up in the e-mail where I received it says my work e-mail address was the sender.
If it was mixing up my gmail accounts that'd be irritating, but not a big deal - but the fact that it's just sending out of my work e-mail is a serious problem - does anyone know how to fix this?

BB Curve 8300 :: Stuck With An Email - Default Address
Feb 23, 2010I'm really stuck with an email problem. I've looked through these forums for quite a while but haven't been able to get an answer.
I've had an email address that I've used for many years on my computer (sbcglobal.net), so naturally I used that same email address on my Curve, without any problems. The other day, I decided to stop using that email address that I've been using for a long time and created a new email address with a different server (gmail.com). So now I want that new email address as my default email on my Curve. I'm having the hardest time figuring out how to delete my current email address on my Curve and change it to the new email address.
I've tried going to Default Services and changing the email, but I can't change anything. My only option is the current sbcglobal.net email. I've also tried going to email setup and logging in to change my email settings, but for some reason it's not accepting my username/password. I'm using the right username and password combination but it's saying I have the wrong u/p.

This apparently hardwired configuration conflicts with my homenetwork's default gateway.Is there anyway to change this with out rooting the device? I would rather not have to re-IP my home network or not be able to connect to any network via Wifi who uses that IP address as a default gateway.

Feb 23, 2010I have recently acquired a Blackberry 8300 smartphone 2nd hand as my previous phone broke and I'm due an upgrade soon so didn't see the point of buying a new one. I wiped the phone so I could put my information on and recently checked a post that if it wasn't for work purposes you didn't need a blackberry password to set up my personal e-mail address and the password was only for work related e-mails.
Can someone confirm if this is the case and also how I set it up otherwise as it just keeps asking for a password and wont let me add mine on without it.

Mar 28, 2012I changed my password/e-mail on apple.com because my old e-mail/password was hacked. I have since deleted the old e-mail address entriely and have registered a new one. While apple.com recognizes the change (as does my iPhone 3, which I use as an iPod) my iPhone4 does not recognize the change, and still has my old e-mail address on it. I've tried both passwords on the iPhone4, and neither work. It's annoying having to use the computer only to download new apps/podcasts/etc.

I am on my third blackberry curve, Carphonewarehouse don't know what to do. It just wont set up. I get "update failed" I have tried to set up through T Mobile on my phone, no luck, says an error has occurred while setting up email...I have run out of ideas. Contract is ending in Nov and very tempted to go to another smartphone.
