BB Bold :: Unable To Transfer BBM Conversations To 9790?
Apr 16, 2012
I'm trying to move from a Curve 8900 to a Bold 9790 and when I try to either switch handset or manually restore a backup, the BBM chats don't get transferred.
If I go into Desktop Manager and do a selective restore, I notice that BBM conversations item is greyed out, so I can't select it to restore.
If I try and do the same restore to my colleague's Torch 9810, it is fine, and if I then backup the 9810 and try and restore that to the Bold 9790 it is still greyed out.
how to get my conversations transferred? I currently don't have history enabled in BBM but I know enabling that now will only save new conversations and not the existing ones.
I previously had Curve 8900 and sometime had saved some .bak files which are stored under the Blackberry Messenger/pin//bakcup/ folder. Now my Curve 8900 is broken and I have purchased a new Bold 9790. I want to get all the chats using the .bak files I had saved. There is some really important information i need, in my previous chats. I have been trying this for weeks but haven't been able to get any workaround for this.
Yesterday I used the BB desktop software to transfer settings and stuff from an old device to a new device.I have now noticed that I am not getting any emails on either of the two accounts on the new device. Two accounts are on the new phone and has all emails up until the time I set it up yesterday.if I go to settings then mail I have the two options:
-Internet mail -Enterprise Account
When I select Internet mail I am asked to input my BB ID. Something I do not have. I never needed to do this on my old BB.I have been into host routing table and registered the device and got email to say device was registered. I waited 2 hours but still no new emails arrived. I have done this by wifi and GSM
Carrier = SFR, I am English though so please do not reply in French. Model = 9790 OS = 7.0 Bundle 2254 (v7.0.0.528, Platform 9.16.0.57)
There are no other apps installed other than what there is out of the box.Removing the battery did not help.I went mobile.blackberry.com on the device, selected England as my country then it loaded a login page in French.
I am unable to create an email ID, or set up email accounts. Neither can I access blackberry apps This a PAYG blackberry for testing on the orange network. BBM is working as is the internet, but no emails or app world. Without this I cannot see the point of recommending Blackberry devices for roll out Is there a fix for this that has not yet been made available
I have just bought a 9790 and can not set up email. It only asks for enterprise account information but I don't know what that means. On my work blackberry I was able to easily set up both my personal AOL and hotmail accounts but I am not being given the option with my new phone. Can anyone help please, I'm getting very frustrated with not being able to find a blackberry technical support service or helpline!
I need to be able to create a file, and also to print several conversations, all with one contact/phone number. I have read the help and cannot see any advice on how I can download SMS messages to my PC, so that I can do this.
out of a sudden..my bold 9790 switch itself off...then when i tried to switch it on again, it won't start..i've tried charging the battery and few attempts to switch it on by pressing the power button, it just would not start...then i tried to connect it to my Pc usinf blackberry desktop, i would not detect.
My text messages, both new  and  old are unaccessible. New messages are shown as received and the first list displayed in  the index but I cannot read any of them.
I keep receiving the message when attempting to set up my AOL account that it somehow was registered to another account (it was not) and I need to transfer the data over to my number. I do that and it says accepted but nothing appears and it is not transferred. What can I do to get my AOL account registered?
I am currently using BB Bold 9700, i want to transfer my contacts to my gmail account i tried using desktop manager and tried to sync the same its says it is processed but i cant find the list, I need the list in CSV file so that i can update the same in my gmail contacts.
I have the Blackberry Bold 9000. I had a text messaging conversation history in text messaging which I accidentally erased. Is there any way to recover these messages? They were not saved to the SIM card/memory card, just on the phone itself.
Like the title says, I need to have a way to record some phone conversations. I know some will say that I have to advise the person I'm talking to, I intend to.I've looked everywhere for an app to do that and didn't find a single thing. Unfortunately this is important enough for me to change phones if I can't do it on my Bold. But I don't want to change this awesome phone.
I recently moved to Michigan from California, and the time settings on my blackberry automatically changed to Eastern Time (-5). However, whenever I receive an SMS (no problems with BBM/MMS), the timestamp for the received SMS in the conversation is 3 hours earlier than the actual/device time. This is a problem only inside the conversation; when I go back to the main Messages or SMS folder, the timestamp of the last received/sent message next to the contact's name is correct. Is there any way to fix this aside from doing a complete wipe? I tried rebooting and manually changing the date/time; didn't help.
I have downloaded the Opera Mini from Blackberry AppWorld for a Blackberry 9790. It was fine and working for a day or two, but now it would not launch, saying that it is "unable to connect. Please review your network settings". What am I supposed to do in this situation?
Does anyone have issues using their Bold 9790 outside, in the open air, when there is a breeze/wind blowing? Or even in the car if the air vents are blowing, even slightly? Whenever I am outside, even if there is hardly any wind, I am unable to send any kind of messages or scroll through menus, as the 'cursor' keeps going back up to the very top of the phone. So if I am trying to send a message, it scrolls right back to the oldest message. I have gone into the settings and made the sensitivity as low as it will go, but it makes no difference.
since i bought this phone in April, its always been giving me SOS mode except for when i orient the phone in a certain way, in certain spots of my room. Other that that, i can't go anywhere in the house, its just SOS. I bought the phone with WIND Mobile. Thinking it was WIND that had the problem, i unlocked the phone to try it with Fido. It's confirmed that it is NOT the wireless carrier that has the problem, its the actual phone itself.
I don't want to believe that I spent $400 to buy the phone and its nothing but an expensive paper weight.
I have had my 9790 for 3 months and about 2 weeks ago I updated the os to 7.1. After I did this I started to have this issue where it would start to reboot on its own, sometimes once a day, sometimes 5 or 6 times in a row and it would drain the battery. Also I noticed the battery level on the screen isn't reflective of what the battery level actually is, it would go from full to red in seconds. its really drive me crazy.
I would do a battery pull and it would be back to 80 or 85 percent. I bought a new genuine blackberry battery to see if that was the issue but still same problems. I wiped the device and re-installed the original os from desktop manager twice and the problem is still there, very frustrating, any one have the same issue and managed to fix it?
Three weeks ago I got my BB 9790 and I am very happy! Only thing is, it keeps rebooting (about 3 times a week) . I have changed phones 3 times now (within 8 days I get a new phone) but I have the same problem each time. Probably a software thing? Are there any others that have the same problem and maybe a solution?
I have had my 9790 for 11 months and about 1 month ago I updated the os to 7.1. The error message received I tried to update my Bold 9790 to OS7.1 using Blackberry Desktop Software for PC but all I get is:
"There was an error updating your software This BlackBerry® Device Software upgrade includes new features and significant enhancements to the BlackBerry® solution and, as such, is only available to users with an active BlackBerry subscription. To learn more about BlackBerry® service, [URL]..
how to fix the jvm 545 error. I tried to use the desktop manager to update the OS or reinstall, however, it does not give the option to reload the OS. The message only says: no update available and option to subscribe to new OS release.
There is no apploader as well. I am using the latest desktop software. Also i cannot connect with battery on as it always reboot due to the jvm 545 error.
I bought my unlock Blackberry Bold 9790 and I'm justing getting EDGE on T-mobile network. However, my friend have the same phone and its working on 3G. And when I serche for a network useing the Manual search it shows me just a 3G for AT&T (my house have a t mobile coverge 3G and 4G).
I have a strange issue. When I plug my phone with USB data cable to PC and select USB storage mode, after I unplug it, and safely remove hardware, The pohne battery starts overheating and draining very fast. It only happens then. If I plug it in charge only mode, everything is okay.
I am struggling to sync/backup phone. Once it gets to social feeds says the phone has been disconnected, can not update, change music or anything else. Have deleted software and reloaded to no avail.
