have a problem with the bottom left shift key falling out?Not a scratch on it, never been dropped.They (The Source & Bell Canada ) want to send it away to be "fixed: I cannot be without my phone!!Bell and RIM should just replace it.

View 4 Replies View Relatedwhen I pulled my 9900 out of my pocket, I saw that the letter P had fallen off of my keyboard and into my pocket. No idea how that happened, especially since my phone is in top shape. I called T-Mobile to see if my phone was under warranty (I bought it the first day it was available in California, which was on August 31st, 2011) and if there was anything that could be done. They directed me to call RIM about the issue. I called RIM this morning and was told by the representative that the warranty is at T-Mobile's discretion and that I'd basically have to hash this issue out with them. So I just got off of the phone with T-Mobile, again, and was told that the button falling off wasn't a "known issue with this device," therefore the warranty was void and my only option was to buy a new phone. This is terrible, a $600 phone and within less than a year my button falls off. The sad thing about it is, I also own the 9700 Curve and I had this same issue happen, except it took more than a year before the letter P fell off of that one.

I didn't use the earphone until now because I wanted to try if it has a mic and to try it if it works when I call someone. When I tried to test it by playing music in my media, only the left speaker was working. My beats earphone works tho, I even plugged the blackberry earphones on my laptop to make sure if its the phone's problem or the earphones' problem and its the same thing. Only the left side was working. Its so new and I didn't even used it till now.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Bold 9700 has suddenly developed a glitch and being a newbie,When holding the Alt or Shift keys, no other keys work i.e. Holding Alt + R does not give 3 as expected . If I press Alt or Shift, release and then press the desired key (for numbers/symbols), then it works fine. This has not been a problem since I got my 9700 in February and holding down Alt/Shift has worked since day 1.
I am running OS v5.0.0.421 I have tried several battery pulls to no effect.I am guessing that I should back up my data, wipe the device and clean install the current OS.

When I press the button again to unlock, nothing happens it's as if the button is not working. When I press the green 'Make Call' button I get the following message: 'Keypad is locked. Press the Lock button to unlock'. When I press the lock button (top left), nothing happens. The only way out of this is to take the battery out and re-boot.
This is getting quite annoying, as I now do not want to lock the phone.
There is a PROFILES icon on the upper left desktop of my 9700. I keep hitting it accidentally and resetting it. I can't seem to get rid of it so I can use the other icon in the main desktop.

View 9 Replies View RelatedRecently i bought a BB Bold 9700 and it was working just fine until one day a white stripe appeared on the left side of my screen. This didnt bother me so much. A couple of days later another stripe appeared; this was when i started to be worried. I looked for a solution online and i tried pressing on it and then clicking the "p" key, i've tried pulling the battery, and i've tried simply resetting it. I have never dropped this phone or gotten it wet. I did get a private screen for it and the stripe appeared after i got it so that might have something to do with it. Now there are 2 stripes most of the time but sometimes it switches to 1.

when I'm in sms application, there are small numbers that appear in the upper left corner of the device. Specifically, mine are " 120 1/6" I'm was thinking 120 contacts and 1 of 6 ongoing converstations or something to that effect, but even when I close them out...it still show 1/6. What exactly is this trying to tell me? Also, when powering down the phone what is the difference in the two options? 1 is "turn off" the othe is "full power down" or something like that. What is the difference? I want my phone off to save battery, but I want my alarm to go off in the morning. Which reminds me, what is "Standby Mode"? Noticed that holding the mute button a few seconds put the device into that mode.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently updated my Blackberry 9700 and ever since it's not as it used to be. I used to press the top left to lock button to lock it. When I did this the screen would dim, but now when I press the shortcut key the screen goes black. Then if I press the shortcut key again it unlocks it straight away even though I have the password option on. Before, regardless of which ever key I pressed it would always ask for a password. Now, the only time it asks for the password is when I take it out of the holster. This is really annoying me.Is this something that i can change or do i have to do a restore??

Two days ago the trackpad started to work only with ALT or SHIFT keys.Problem is:Situation 1) In the home menu the track pad scrolls great. It can move up to change ring settings, left, right, down, etc. Completely normal.Situation 2) I press the menu key and the trackpad no longer works. I can't scroll left right up or down through the icons. Now when I try holding the alt key OR the shift key, the track pad works again.. Only in some menus do I need to hold the alt or shift key to activate the track pad (and I need to hold the shift or alt key for the track pad to work, ie, if I release the alt/shift key it no longer responds)Situation 3) When sending a text message when I use the track pad to scroll down and send a message, it takes the last character and cycles through the symbols for that characterSpecs:Phone: Blackberry 9300 CurveSoftware: v5.0.0.845 (Platform 6.3.0.34) Done:I've tried the factory reset, removing the batter, removing the sim, etc.
