View 9 RepliesI have a BB Bold 9700 white. I recently downloaded a couple of apps from appworld and they ran fine. The thing is my network company is 3 and personally I think they are S*** to be honest. The network keeps going onto 'SOS calls only' alot of the time so I called the company up and they asked me to reboot my BB. After archiving all my apps in appworld I rebooted it and guess what...all the apps disappeared.Downloaded appworld again to check if they were on it but no luck. They were however on my memory card but the thing is it says it cant open the file. All the files end in '.cod.rem' and they are all 'forward locked' whatever that means. Anyone know what's going on and how to get the apps working again?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a 8820 which was my office BB but I got a new official bb so the company let me have the 8820 but will not provide any support for it. How do I remove the IT policy from my 8820 to be able to use it as my personal bb? I read in another forum that you need OS 4.3 or greater to remove the IT policy. The OS on my 8820 is v4.2.2169 (Platform 2.4.0.67). Also read that you need desktop manager and some other stuff to backup and perform some other tasks, then install OS 4.3 and then remove the policy. Since this is now my personal bb I don't have any software or CD for it except the instrument itself. I am guessing I need to install some software on my pc, backup to be able to remove IT policy.
Where can I get the software for what I have to install it on a PC. This might also be a dumb question but what is the connection with a pc and a blackberry to install/ backup etc?If there is some intro doc that explains this it would be great.
I've never used blackberry messenger. overnight i had a messenger contact request from some unknown person so declined the request. now whenever i press menu when viewing a txt, i get the 'forward to messenger contact' showing as the 3rd option. How do i get rid of either this showing or blackberry messenger completely?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new, unlocked Blackberry Bold 9780 (originally a Roger's phone, now using with Fido). I was able to setup my emails to the device and can also receive emails. However, I am unable to open, reply or forward the emails. I can only get rid of the message indicator by marking the email open or deleting the message. I have done numerous hard restarts (i.e. battery pulls) and this does not correct the problem. I am using OS 6.0 Bundle 1879 which I just updated to today using desktop manager. I've scoured the web for answers and can't find one.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got a 9700 yesterday and I am in Canada. I don't see the "I want to reate or add an email address". I can't seem to find the solution to that. Couple other questions I have. I don't have a data plan, can I still use BBM and download all the apps ? Also do I need to set up an email account to download apps and use BBM ?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've seen a few post that sort-of answer my question, but none seem exactly right. I have a Bold 9700 and use a BIS to retrieve my personal email from my ISP's POP server. I don't use BES. When I'm at home or at work and have direct access to email, I'd like to turn off my bb email client. How can I do that?
In one post I saw the recommendation Messages > Options > Email Reconciliation > Wireless Reconcile -> set of Off. Is this enough? (I have my BB set up for wi-fi connection when I'm home, in case that makes a difference.)
I hope someone can help because I'm losing the will to live over this one!

I bought a SIM free BB 9700 to use with my 02 SIM card. I applied the unlimited BB tariff and proceeded to set up four email accounts into the device which are all for my small business. I waited to do this until I knew the O2 bolt on had been applied correctly.I set the accounts up via the BIS server website which sent them down to the device; seemingly correctly.
I received email correctly for that day and could send as well with everything syncing with my IMAP servers and Outlook.Next morning - no email delivered to the device and I was unsuccessful in sending emails as well from the device to addresses.I tried to send down the service books - I sent them but no change.I got my four email accounts working again correctly but had to delete the accounts from BIS and recreate.I could then receive email correctly for the rest of the day and could send as well with everything syncing with my IMAP servers and Outlook.
Next morning the same thing happened - no email delivered to the device and I was unsuccessful in sending emails as well from the device to addresses.I then did a complete device wipe. When the device rebooted it seemed to synchronise with the BIS and then my accounts worked again for the remainder of the day. This morning - the same thing happened - no email delivered to the device and I was unsuccessful in sending emails as well from the device to addresses.
I have now created my @o2email address and applied my long standing @hotmail.co.uk address to the 9700 and they work fine - at the moment (we'll see about tomorrow!) to see if they fail as well.I have sent test mails today from the @O2 account and hotmail to each other and also to my main small business account from my BB. The @O2 and Hotmail emails arrive both on the device and (hotmail) on outlook and the main business account arrives on outlook BUT the main business account email does NOT arrive on the device.
I cannot seemingly send anything from my business addresses anywhere (from the device) with the only outgoing addresses that work being the @O2 and @hotmail accounts on the BB - unless I do a device wipe or delete the accounts and recreate.Emails sent from the BB from either @O2 or @hotmail arrive on the BB but not anything sent to the work accounts sent from @O2 or @hotmail from the BB - although the emails sent to the work addresses WILL appear on my outlook...
Speaking to O2 has been tough and they are blaming the server people who host my small business domain and such, although I think it is more than that though I could be wrong. My server people insist it isn't their end, saying they can see from the logs that RIM seems to stop checking for emails at times they detailed when the device stopped receiving emails from one day to the next.
I'm trying to set up my personal email on the 9700, but it seems that i have only one option, Blackberry Enterprise Server option. Is that suppose to be that way? I don't seem to have the " I want to create or add an email address" option.

I wonder if anyone can help me with this problem please. I have recently purchased a BB-Bold 9700 and transferred my settings from my old Bold. I have to email addresses (both Gmail) registered which appear on my main screen. The push email works fine! However, whenever I send an email, I cannot see the sent mail in the individual email folders but only in the main messages folder which is very annoying and confusing. Here's what I have tried sofar:
1. I tried to go into options and mark "No" in the section indicated hide my sent messages.
2. I tried going into filter and ticking sent messages. They appear but once you press the back button they disappear again.
3. I tried going onto the BB website and I successfully downloaded the newest software update (5.0.0.4) but still it did not resolve the problem....
Do I need to wipe off the whole device? Can someone please help because I'm very confused and frustrated with this issue.....
Just found that there is no longer an option to reply using a different email address on the 9700. On the 8900, after you press reply, the top line says "send using" and you can click on that to choose which email to reply it with. Anyone know how to solve this issue?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have tried several email programs, including K9, and when I receive an email with photos embedded, they dissappear when forwarded.
I have tried sending as "shared" using again several different email programs, but they all distort original email. Some change the formatting and if lucky put all jpgs at end, and not within text,or delete them completely.
Similar problems appear if it is a text message with embedded photos or illustrations. If I go to my desktop and forward the email or text message it gets to its detination correctly.
I am having problems with my Curve 8530, for some reason I cant forward email to another email address, it is not displaying the "Send" option on the menu I also noticed that before when I used to start typing an email address the phone used to give me all the names with the first few letters but I don't get that anymore. I didn't make any changes to my emails accounts.

Is it possible to auto-forward sms messages to an email account on an IPhone?
Info:
iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.1.1
my Blackberry Curve 8530 CANNOT compose new emails: it can reply to emails that people have sent me, it can compose emails to people whose emails I already have saved, yet if I try to "Compose Email" and enter a new address, it can only "Save Draft." Not only that, I can't email or MMS any of my photos either-- either TO a new email, or a preexisting contact/email--the only way to get them off of my phone is if I "send to Facebook," or copy them to my computer using a micro-USB cord.A battery pull has NOT worked. I've also already come across people posting on other sites about the same problem (and there seems to be a similar issue with the 8520). I've come across other websites suggesting that the problem may be to an issue with the OS (I'm currently on v5.0.0.654 Bundle 1108, Platform 4.2.0.298; I certainly haven't downloaded/installed any new Apps since this happened), and that downgrading/changing to a different OS may be necessary to fix/troubleshoot the issue, I just don't recall which website that was, nor do I know how to change the OS on my own (if I remember correctly, it just updates itself automatically, which probably would explain why this seemed to happen out of the blue).
