Why is it that any app you install, that has something to do with changing the status light's appearance, after the install, the light no longer works normally. Ie, green light for service, and red for messages. Anybody know how to fix this? Or work around it?

I currently have the original Blackberry Tour 9630 with Verizon, and the browser works off of my signal. So whenever I have a signal, I have internet. Is this new Bold the same way? My sister has it and we were in the car today and it said internet coverage was not found. I was just curious if it was strictly JUST wifi or if it runs off the signal AND wifi. If somebody could help clear it up for me that would be great.

At the dealer, they used the BB desktop SW to move across all information from the previous phone to the new one. Everything moved across well, except my Blackberry email address. I have been able to set up a Gmail account no problem, everything works fine, but I can't get the Blackberry email address [URL] to work successfully. It is a valid email address, as I was using up until a few days back. I have tried adding the email address manually, but it claims that either the email address or the password are incorrect. I tried requesting a new BB email address, but used the same one, and the response came back that I can't use that address as it is already taken (I know - it's mine). I have a support call in and spent almost 2 hours trying different things with them, but so far no success.

I have had my Bold for almost 2 weeks but just noticed within the last day and half that something may be wrong with my keyboard backlight. I reviewed about 6 pages in this forum but didn't see this topic anywhere.
Does everyones keyboard light up with a touch of ANY key? Because mine isn't lighting up and might need to swap it out.
I would assume that hitting any key would make the lights come on but just wanted to get confirmation from someone.
After I get a text message or an email, the set ring tone sounds and the light indicator flashes. After I read the message and save or delete it the message light still flashes. Why is this and why won't the light stop flashing? The only way I can get it to stop flashing is take the battery out and put it back in. Verizon is my carrier and it is a Verizon 9650 phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently noticed that my keyboard backlight is out. I am driving myself crazy wondering if I ever had keyboard backlighting. Verizon Wireless support had no answers, but suggested that we hardset the Bold again. If that doesn't work, then they will replace with a "like new" phone. Is there keyboard backlighting on this model? If so, any suggestions to fix? Lastly, anyone had any luck with challenging the "like new" exchange policy for a phone just 4 months old.?

View 4 Replies View Relatednew to blackberry in general. have the bold 9700 and mostly have it on silent so i rely heavily on the red led blinking to signal a missed call. i could have sworn this was always the case cause a vm would generraly acompany the call. the other day the light was green so i thought i was good but in fact i had missed an important call. is this the way it is or is there a setting to have the led blink red with a missed call just like a message.

Instead, the phone announces by voice either the person, if in the phone book, or the number. Ex. "Call from xxxx".Yet the sound settings are set for the ringtone. It's possible when the phone was unlocked in the pouch (wouldn't be the first time) something was set randomly. Who knows. In any event, I need the ringtone working.

I'd just plug in my phone, launch the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and boom, contacts synced.Now, even though there are changes, the synchronization process starts, but it never updates anything. I bought my phone in May 2011, and for the very first time was able to sync my phone contacts with my facebook contacts. As a bit of a socialite, this was perfect! I was able to see status updates from my contacts list, i was able to see their profile pictures flash on screen if they phoned, texted or emailed, and I was able to even see status updates from my contacts too.
Anyway, a few days ago i downloaded an updated FB app from Marketplace. All was still fine, and contacts in syn. Then earlier today i accidentally logged out of the FB app and it took all the connected info betwene my contacts and FB with it.
I have since logged back in and resynced my contacts. However... no longer are the profile pictures connected (I usually recognise calls, emails and texts by the photo not the name), i cant see facebook related information, and I just dont like it I've played around with all the options of views, syncs, and options etc but to no avail.
For the last two days my Facebook app on my iPhone 4s no longer works. I click on it and it tries to open but it just goes back to the screen.Â

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a BB 9800, and I recently downloaded the latest 6.0 OS Bundle 2921. Since then, I cannot use the ear piece when making calls. The speaker/handset menu goes back and forth and there is no sound in the ear piece. I can no longer take calls in the car while I drive.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter downloading the latest BB torch software o/s update, (6.0 Bundle 2391), the numlock feature doesn't work.
When I press the numlock key on the screen keypad (both SureType and Qwerty), it only stays in effect for a few numbers pressed, and then releases by itself. It used to work fine before this bundle update.
iPhone 4 Power button no longer works. 2 Months out of warranty, I haven't got $179 to replace it? I have attempted self repairs, made the situation worse.

I received an iHome iP92 alarm clock for Christmas in 2011. It has worked great until today. This moring instead of waking up to music from my iPhone 4 I woke up to beeping. Now I get a message when I plug the iPhone into the device "This accessory is not supported by iPhone".
I talked with a Verizon rep and they said I should dail *228 to update the programming as it had not been done for awhile. So, I did that, still have same problem.
I have powered the phone off, multiple times. I have also reset the iHome iP92 by unplugging it and removing the batteries as the documentation says.
When I plugged the iPhone into my car stereo, I was able to charge the iPhone, control it, and listen to music so I am pretty sure there is nothing wrong with the phone. Not sure if the update to i/OS 5.1.1 would have caused any issues or not.

After updating my phone recently, I can no longer update music on my iphone 4. I used to be able to grab a random song from a file on my computer and drag and drop it onto my phone, without adding it to iTunes. Now, I can't add anything to my phone unless it's first in iTunes. I have about 40G of music and don't want it all on my phone, or iTunes.

I have found that whenever I try to take a picture, it looks like it worked, but then I click on the image that appears in the corner and it shows the last picture that I took before this one (from over a month ago). The picture never actually saves.
I have tried turning it off, removing the battery, then turning it back on. I have tried deleting old pictures to clear up space (the phone says that I have over 5GB of space). I have tried giving the camera extra time before trying to view the picture.
