I am on the eve of receiving my new un-locked Motorola Charm MB502 phone. I have AT&T as the provided but I know even though it is a T-Mobile phone it works on the AT&T network. However I do not have, nor do I want to pay for a data plan. In fact as of now I have a Sony Ericsson C905a from AT&T just for the reason of not having to have a data plan; I don't need it or want to pay the $$. But I am interested in the wi-fi features of the Charm.I started looking into the Charm's user guide and I want to know if anyone can tell me if it is possible and how to set up the phone so it ONLY uses wi-fi to connect to data? Can I block mobile data usage through configuration? I don't want 2 things to happen:Paying for a lot of pay-as-you-use data MB.having AT&T see so many data packets and automatically slap a data plan on my phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHelp/Advice is needed ASAP!I'm leaving for Switzerland in less than 10 hours and I needed to find a way to keep in contact with my family here in the U.S. for relatively cheap. Well I bought a plan with Skype (since I have Skype mobile on my storm) where I can make international calls for reasonable rates. Now I am afraid that my friends may call/text my phone while I'm overseas NOT using skype and rack up my Verizon bill. Is there anyway at all that I can block calls and texts from coming to my phone but not interfere with my skype mobile? Also has anyone used Skype mobile overseas? Does it work well?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI keep receiving between 2 to3 SMS's per day from a user just identified by a number (namely, 70371). The messages contain a URL address. These 50 to 70 messages per month serve no purpose but to increase my phone bill. I have asked my carrier (Movistar), who has told me there is no way to block the sender (obviously: my carrier is happy with the fact that 10% of my phone bill comes from these SMS messages). Any way to block a specific sender?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just came back from a week in Spain and found a very expensive mobile phone bill. My Blackberry Bold had been automatically connecting to internet and downloading my email by phone in roaming mode. I had expected email was only active in a free wireless area but it seems this was not true, it also used phone calls to download mail.
How can I block that without doing something as brutal as removing the SIM card? Other kinds of phones have settings to do that but I haven't found these settings in Blackberry Bold.

There it was so that the person automatically got a busy signal when they called me and I don't need to push the red ring-off-key. Is there something on blackberry too??
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy 8900 crashed on me today and they are replacing it.I decided to try the 9700 while I wait for the 8900.I was initially going to just sell the 8900 replacement on eBay and enjoy my new 9700.However, I am slightly disappointed with the 9700.I love the keyboard over the 8900.I also love the track pad and I thought I would hate it.What I don't like about the 9700 is the 3G seems to be about as slow as the EDGE. I don't use the browser much anyways so it is not much of a feature for me.Not sure if the better feeling keyboard and track pad is worth the price of a new $400 phone.Am I missing something about the 9700?

"iberry blacklist/whitelist" is apparently supposed to do this but I installed the trial, not working properly and then I realized it doesn't support my bb.
Now already for a couple of weeks I have problems with someone who keeps sending me messages.I went to my provider, but they can't do anything about it or I have to go to court first.
