Asha 30/40 Series :: Nokia 200 - Cannot Receive Incoming Messages
Aug 10, 2012
Mine is nokia asha 200 mobile. I can send messages but I'm not receiving messages. I sent some messages to myself from other mobiles also. I contacted the operator also. I've changed the settings. I've reset the phone, updated it, still not working...
I have a Nokia 5130C2 phone. I have some problem with the messages on it. I receive a meesage on the phone at 1.32pm and the message shows received at 1.50pm. I have tried to reset the phone and set the clock to GMT+5.30 but still no luck.
I discovered the other day I still have messages on my old Nokia 1100 phone. At first I thought ok, just put in a sim and copy them across. But the 1100 doesn't have this option. Since this handset is locked, I can't put in a sim and forward them either. It's odd the phone has internal memory but won't let you copy/move or do anything with the messages.
I've looked online for a data cable for the 1100. Maybe if I connect it to a computer I can extract or copy them then? I want to get these messages on my new phone with all the original details (dates, numbers etc.) intact. My googling so far for a data cable only brings up other nokia cables where the seller has just added the 1100 model number, but it clearly isn't the right cable for this phone.
I recently got a C1-01 and am happy with it as a back-up phone. The only thing is that it automatically saves all my sent text messages which I dislike.I have searched through all the options and settings menus and cannot find any way of disabling this function.Either I'm missing something (but this is my 6th Nokia phone, so I don't think I am) or there is genuinely no way of switching this off, on this phone?I've read online that some people apparently cannot find a way of switching this function ON, on their C1-01s, so is it something that operators install or uninstall on their handsets?
I have a Nokia 5000, bought 3 years ago. I can connect the phone to Nokia Suite via Bluetooth. However there is no way to backup my messages, neither via synchronize (fails with explicit error message) nor via the backup utility (spends a lot of time apparently downloading messages, and then they are not present in the .nbu backup file, as can be clearly seen by the small size of the file - I have more than 4000 messages and the file is only 300 kB with the contacts). Is there a way to download my messages?
where I can find the setting to not save text or MMS messages on this phone? On my old 6303 it could be found at Menu--->Messaging---->Message Settings--->General Settings--->Save sent messages Yes/No This option does not appear to be present on this model. I have had phone re-flashed to the latest generic firmware, 07.10, so it is not a software issue (or so I think).
My Nokia 2730 classic phone memory is full (my own fault!), however when I try to delete messages the phone freezes. I have to take out the battery & leave it for a few hours. Sometimes it comes back on after that though lately it won't even do that.
Since 2 or 3 days, when an SMS is sent to me, my 6303 does not ring anymore, nor displays any message, nor displays the envelope as it should do. Therefore I am not aware when I get an SMS. However, when I check the Inbox, the SMS is there. Note that incoming calls DO ring as defined in the selected profile. I checked my Outdoor profile (which is the active one), and the tone is ON for incoming SMSes. So I do not know what's wrong, except a firmware issue. Or should I reboot? (I did not try that) Are there other options to check?
On asha 300, incoming calls can be answered via the touchscreen. How do I disable this behaviour? When I dig out the phone from my pocket, I frequently accidentally drop the call because the phone does not require the swipe gesture before accepting touchscreen input for incoming calls! Is it possible to set the phone to always require the swipe gesture? If not, then is it possible to set it up so that only the physical buttons can answer/drop calls?
My problem is a bit complicated perhaps. Whenever my girlfriend sends me an SMS that exceeds 160 characters (a double SMS), I don't receive a "message" on my phone saying "1 new text message" (in Dutch: "1 nieuw bericht"). My phone also doesn't give the sound and/or vibration warning, even if it is supposed to do so (I checked the preferences multiple times).
However, I DO get a "messagepictogram" at the top of my screen (The little yellow envelope). When I go to my inbox, it says indeed that I have 1 new, unopened message, but when I open this textmessage, it is always an SMS I received previously from her. (and 90% of the time this is the same previous SMS)..
My contacts are saved both on my sim card and on the phone itself. However, recently, whenever any of my contacts phone, all i get coming up is a number and not their name.
I bought a Nokia Asha 302 and immediately started receiving tips from Nokia through the tips application. I tried sending the unsubscribe message many times but I still keep getting the tips at least twice a day.
I have saved quite a few messages in My Folders in my nokia mobile. My model is nokia C2-01, not a symbian phone. I used Nokia PC Suite, which only provided me with the backup of my inbox.. But I really want the backup of my messages in My Folders.
I am a glad owner of a Nokia 1800, but there is no room for more new messages. Is there a way where I can copy my messages from phone memory to SIM or to conect PC to retrieve the messages?
When I send an SMS to my friend overseas from my Nokia E73, she always doesn't recieve my full sms. I write about 5 to 6 lines, they all seem to be sent but my friend only recieves 2 or 3 lines

My phone has not received at least two incoming text messages, what can I do to fix this. The phone was an outright purchase & I've used my existing SIM card & mobile number.
bought myself an asia 210 and was told that i could block messages and calls as getting them off ppl i no loger talk to,yes i could change my number but not as easy as thought, just need to block and was told by carphone warehouse i could but cant work it out
I can't see who is sending my messages - i simply get the phone number. My user guide doesnt seem to mention this although it is probably me not being able to find it.
I want to save a number of the messages I have on my phone and so do not want to empty the folders completely but now have a very slow phone as message count is c. 6000!I was using the old Nokia PC Suite (7.2 I think) but this froze when trying to access the large number of messages so upgraded to tthe OVI Suite.Any ideas other than delete text by text on the phone?I have acheived a full download to OVI and have deleted the conversations I no longer want in OVI but they are still on my phone!!!
I bought a Nokia 1800, i would like to know how can i move the messages to sim card from phone memeory.is there any option to copy from phone memory to SIM or to conect PC to retrieve the messages?
I bought a nokia 300 because I can't use my smartphone at work, I have downloaded Nokia PC suite and transferred my data from my faithful but dying E51.....I uploaded the data onto the Asha 300 and it was apparently successful according to PC suite, the phone says it has all 670 contacts, but I can't access any. The sim only holds 200
