I bought a nokia 300 because I can't use my smartphone at work, I have downloaded Nokia PC suite and transferred my data from my faithful but dying E51.....I uploaded the data onto the Asha 300 and it was apparently successful according to PC suite, the phone says it has all 670 contacts, but I can't access any. I seem to have a problem with my Asha 302.I can connect to my home wi-fi and access the internet with no problems at all. However, I'm unable to access web servers or services on my own LAN.First spotted when I tried to set up the 'Mail' application and creating custom settings to connect to my own IMAP and SMTP server on IP address 192.168.0.199. The mail app would inform me that the server was unreachable or words to that effect.Using both the Nokia web browser and Opera, I have since tried connecting to a local web server again on 192.168.0.199 and both browsers replied with address unreachable. Have also tried connecting to my router on 192.168.0.1 and again I get address unreachable.My phone connects to my wi-fi with address 192.168.0.15 - and with gateway 192.168.0.1, DNS 192.168.0.1 as per any other device on my network.I have also tried doing exactly the same thing on a Nokia N8 - and the N8 is successfully communicating with local servers.I'm running v14.53 and had same problem with 14.23.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to use the contact sync with the Asha phones (302, 303, 200, 201, 300, etc.)? I am unable to see the option and under synchronisation and backup I am being asked to enter server details etc. which I don't have.
On my other Nokia phones (S60 or S^3) they all have a Contact Sync functionality.
I can't acces anything, the touch is wornking since the phone vibrates in response and the icons turn red as when u click on them but nothing happpens, i stay in the main screen no matter what, i cant recieve calls, the phone tells me i got signal and even shows shows my carriers name, but when someone calls my phone appears to be turned off. I tried re-installing the software from nokia suite.

So in the first place, there is no option to disable packet data or internet access at all... I can only choose between on demand and always online... thx for that!
I tried to make new hoax profiles with made up usernames and passwords for those data links and access points and set them as defaults but this phone always just connects to the internet by edge after all...
I also can't just delete my provider's access points which seem to be sitting on the sim card or however that works...
if there is a "reliable" method to block data/internet access? On sony ericsson devices there is at least some kind of workaround which works by setting the access points to ask for a password before they actually connect.. but in this phone there doesn't seem to be any option to protect myself to go online by accident..
I have saved quite a few messages in My Folders in my nokia mobile. My model is nokia C2-01, not a symbian phone. I used Nokia PC Suite, which only provided me with the backup of my inbox.. But I really want the backup of my messages in My Folders.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI discovered the other day I still have messages on my old Nokia 1100 phone. At first I thought ok, just put in a sim and copy them across. But the 1100 doesn't have this option. Since this handset is locked, I can't put in a sim and forward them either. It's odd the phone has internal memory but won't let you copy/move or do anything with the messages.
I've looked online for a data cable for the 1100. Maybe if I connect it to a computer I can extract or copy them then? I want to get these messages on my new phone with all the original details (dates, numbers etc.) intact. My googling so far for a data cable only brings up other nokia cables where the seller has just added the 1100 model number, but it clearly isn't the right cable for this phone.

However there is no way to backup my messages, neither via synchronize (fails with explicit error message) nor via the backup utility (spends a lot of time apparently downloading messages, and then they are not present in the .nbu backup file, as can be clearly seen by the small size of the file - I have more than 4000 messages and the file is only 300 kB with the contacts).Is there a way to download my messages?

This is the first way I performed the update: Main menu > Settings > sync and backup > sync with server > sync settings > synchronized data > contacts > sync settings: Google sync > automatic sync: off > rules for incoming: Confirm firstMain menu > Settings > sync and backup > sync with server > sync now
