Is there a way to show my name when I send a text message? As it is now, my cell phone number shows, and I see nothing in Settings that gives me the option of using my name. Of course I can sign the message, but I prefer having my name appear—as it did on my earlier iPhones.Â

When I search for someone with a home, work and mobile number I'm only ever going to text the mobile (or iPhone) numbers. Anyone know of a way to filter it so that only they show up? I'm assuming it would be possible to tweak that on a jailbroken phone.

First: I know how to get text message previews to show up, however, is there a way to get the text message on the lock screen to show the name, but not the full message? Right now I can either get the name and the full message on the lock screen or just "new message".
Second: Is there a way to transfer all my iTunes music onto the S5 so I don't lose it?

For a while now I can only view text messages from the "message" icon on my phone. I used to be able to view 2 different email accounts. The only way I can see my emails now is from the little window just below where the time is displayed.
so I notice when I get a new blackberry bold 9650 I notice that I could receive a cool looking text message icon. However, I need to figure out how could I transfer all my data.The blackberry desk manager never did work on my old phone witch. After plugging in the new phone on my PC it asked if I wanted to transfer my data... So I did.I realized that when I was receiving text messages they were looking more like email icons. I tried to look up in my options and I can't find anything.

If I reply the missing message will then show up in the chat above my reply. A battery pull solves this problem but it only seems to be a temporary fix as it has happened again.

I just want to know if there is a way that I can open my text message "inbox" without haivng to open a new text message that I have. I used to have a droid. The bar on the top of the screen between the "select a profile" and the "search magnifying glass" where the notifications pop up not sure what that page is called but in this slide down screen under Text Messages I have a text message that is staying at unread. Even though I have deleted the text message and I've tried everything to try and get it to go away. Today I have a Blackberry Messenger Message that won't delete as well. I'm thinking of abandoning the I-Phone altogether because of two annoyances that get only worse, not better, with time. But if any newer I-Phone (I currently have the 3GS) has removed these annoyances, I will upgrade.
1. I want txt alerts to continue (every minute or two) until I have opened and read a text message. Does any model I-Phone allow for this?
2. I want to disable predictive text as I don't like the I-Phone algorhthym for this -- it causes me endless grief. Which model allows for this?

It only happens with texts from him, no-one else. I've tried deleting our conversation but it makes no difference. It's getting so frustrating cos I have to keep asking him to text me again and a lot of the time I just get another 'cracked' text!

WWhen I receive messages sometime it shows on the front of phone but when I open the message it is blank. Other times I'm not getting text messages at all. Also sometimes my Facebook and email will open up and then just close after a second or two. I have an iPhone 4s. I have tried the turning it off and back on several times. Since, I do not have a subscription for multimedia messages with my service provider, the message remains in the outbox and never gets sent.
Can someone advice why the text message converts to multimedia message? How to prevent this from happening everytime I send/forward text message to more than 10 people from the contacts list?
