I've just tried updating my iphone 5 from iOS 7.1 to iOS 7.1.1 - the update was verifying on my phone, then went black. Now all that comes up is for me to plug it into iTunes. Normally this wouldnt be a problem, but im inbetween moving houses with no access to my mac with iTunes.Â
i have plugged it into my housemates mac just to try getting it to work - I don't care so much about all the bits on it, I just need a working phone! Â
It keeps saying it's in restore mode on the mac. As his computer wont have a restore for my phone, it would be better for me to set it up as a new phone when the download is complete and then either restore it when I have my own mac, or see if I can back up from iCloud (whenever it last saved)?Â
best way to do it without my own iTunes/saved restore?Â
I recently updated iTunes. The update went smoothly, but immediately after the update iTunes no longer shows my iPhone4. The diagnostics show that everything is okay with exception of the no iPhone connected error. I've run through all of the Apple helps but nothing has fixed the problem. The same problem occurs on other user profiles on the same computer. The computer is a 64-bit Windows 7 machine. Windows 7 shows the iPhone and I can access it as a camera or drive. I've re-installed the phone USB driver but still no go. I can plug my phone into another computer and the sync works fine.
I have tried syncing my phone to my computer before but it deleted any song and playlist that wasn't in the iTunes on my computer. I sometimes will buy a song on my phone and I don't want to have to look up every song I have bought on my phone to go through and download it on my computer. Also I would like to not have to recreate playlist on my computer.
I've tried four times to download it and when it almost reaches completion it just freezes there and won't finish or transfer the update to my phone. Because of this I can now not download the latest update, or any new apps. Any ideas because this is driving me crazy!! I'm currently stuck with the 4.2.10 (8E600) when I got the phone about 2 yrs ago.
My iPhone is the 3GS, firmware 3.1.3/5.12. It's jailbroken currently with spirit(obviously). I want to know if I can update to the 4.0 gm seed safely now that iTunes 9.2 is out for pc. I'm not a developer but Ive Downloaded the ispw online. Also will I be able to jailbreak it?
iTunes on my computer wont let me restore and update my iPhone 3GS, it says "iTunes could not contact the iPhone software update server because you are not connected to the Internet. Make sure your Internet connection is active and try again." I am connected to the Internet, I can access iTunes store, I have followed the steps on[URL]. So I want to know if I can update my iPhone 3GS through iTunes on my iPhone.
My phone is way over due for an update. Now it just wont update. Nothing will! I've tried doing it several ways but nothing has worked. I've tried doing it from the phone, the computer, and just doing it step by step (starting with just updating itunes). NOTHING has worked and I've been trying for hours. I don't wanna restormy phone if i can't even update the iTunes alone.
I tried to update my iphone 4 with itunes to ios 5, but itunes says i have the newest version 4.3.3 (8j2), which isn't true of course. Sometimes itunes stays in "thinking" mode for hours and does nothing. I have the newest version of itunes (10.6). I can't update it OTA because i don't have the software button in general settings (which is normal for ios 4.3.3, i read). I searched the forum for an answer but didn't find it. I use windows 7 btw, i also tried switching firewalls off.
Itunes says my iphone 4 needs to update to 7.1.2 but when i check software update directly on the settings on the phone it says the iOS is at latest version., should i update via itunes? or updates (7.1.2) is just not applicable for iphone 4?
I connected my new i-phone 4 to my laptop, to save the photos that I've taken with it, and it prompted for an i-tunes update. When it was all over, it was frozen, and the only option I was offered was 'Restore', which came with a warning that I would lose all data if I chose to restore to factory settings...
I attempted to update the iPhone 4 to the latest iPhone update and now the iPhone screen is stuck on the iTunes icon and USB cable. The iPhone does not appear in the iTunes application.
Also, it appears that the iPhone has lost it's OS.
I have a new e-mail address and updated this in my I tunes account on my Mac but also want to do this on my iPhone. I cannot seem to find a way to update it on my iPhone. Tried to find a way to do this while synchronizing but that does not seem to work.
I am using an iphone4s but the phone only syncs when I install an update on my itunes. Without a fresh update of itunes, I cannot see the device in the itunes panel. Could there be a software conflict or settings?
I have had to reformat my PC for some reason and download iTunes afresh. So none of the history of iTunes remains. I have got the apps back by going to the purchased section. But I do not have the information on all the songs, videos etc that I had included from my vast collection in the iTunes library. I now want to upgrade my iOS and I believe I will lose all data, including all media when I do that.
1) Is there any way to update iTunes to my iPhones settings, including all media etc.? Purpose is to ensure I do not have to go back and create all the playlists etc. from scratch on iTunes before I upgrade my iOS.
2) For future reference, is there any way to backup the iTunes library itself?
3) A backup, per my understanding, will not help with any media I have included in the library - is that right?
I have an iPhone 4s and an iPad 2. Updated both to 5.1.1. Now iTunes on the phone freezes. Tried restart, killed all other apps but no effect. iPad 2 is working normally.
After I updated my iphone to iOs 5.1.1. I want to restore back my iphone, but it couldn't connect to itunes saying : "ITunes couldn't connect to this iPhone because an unknown error occurred (0xE8000065)."
I needed to update my Iphone 3GS so to do this I needed to have the latest version of itunes. Before I updated itunes it could recognise that my iphone had been connected to the USB. Now it has been updated it doesnt recognise it and that means I cant update it or find it on itunes.
So I've been trying to update my iPhone 4 for a while now and everytime iTunes keeps stopping and says there's a connection error or something like that,
I am trying to get iphone recognized in iTunes? I just did an update to iOS5 and my phone is no longer recognized. It said it couldn't complete the update. What to do?
I went to sych with another iphone to update my itunes. Instead I got all the contacts and apps, pics, etc. of the other person. How do I reverse this.
