IPhone 5 :: Messages Won't Delete - Comes Back After Restart
Jun 2, 2014
My messages take up about 5.3 gb of space on my iPhone 5 iOS 7. I need space for music. How to clear it? Everytime i go into imsg and delete conversations (i have about 100), they simply come back when I restart the phone.
I recently upgraded from the D1 to the D4 and have my Hotmail account set up via Corporate Sync. Incoming messages sync correctly but messages I delete on the phone do not delete from the server. On the D1 the two-way sync worked correctly for emails deleted on the phone but I can't seem to get it to work on the D4.My settings for the corporate sync account are:Username: full @hotmail email addressPassword: passwordServer: m.hotmail.comUse secure connection: yesProxy: blankAnyone else having this problem? Is there a fix?
I tried to download a ringtone and my phone then told me it needed to restore because of the updates. I transferred my purchases over but stupidly didn't make a back up. After restorting I realised the most recent back up I had was for April. So I used that back up. However does anybody know whether it is possible, in any way, for me to get my phone restored back to just before it decided to restore. I've tried looking through the forums but have had no luck.
It's been happening for a while now. When I restart my phone or turn it off and on later, it re-sends previous random messages out to some of my contacts.

Every time when I restart my xperia z2 some random old messages are resend. These messages don't show in the messaging app either so I have no way of knowing which messages were send and to who. I've checked with my provider but they couldn't fix it. It's really annoying because I constantly have to explain that I did not send any message.
I'm using nokia 5800 model. In that two messages got failed while sending and stored in Outbox. I tried to delete those two messages. But the status of those two msgs has been changed to 'Deferred' and are not getting deleted. I restarted the mobile, but again its there in the Outbox. I tried PC Suite to delete those messages. But those messages are not getting listed in the PC Suite. Kindly Suggest some solution for this problem
I am using the Blackberry Storm, I believe the 9530 (its the first gen). Anyway, just recently my text messages only stay for a couple of days and then they delete themselves or simpley disappear.
There have been numerous cases where I need the information someone sent me in those messages, but I can't seem to find them. Is there something wrong with how the phone is set up? Is this a memory thing? Is there a way to get those messages back, are they stored somewhere?
I am wanting to know is there a way to delete multiple email messages or normal messages for that matter at one time.If i receive like 20 emails, do I really need to delete each one individually? As it's major painful. Even my old dilapidated cell phone could delete mutiple messages at once.
i deleted messages from my partner on accident i would like them back... however upon following the instructions on the interent i think i may have deleted my back ups (in itunes edit>preferences>device>delete backup and did that cause i thought it was the last back up it would delete, thus allowing me to back up from the second to last one.... it however did not) can i get the messages i sent to them by using my partners back ups? or mine? or are they gone forever?
I'm trying to delete voicemail messages from iphone 5s. Based on visiting previous discussions on this subject, I've tried "resetting network settings" and "turning airport mode ON, deleting messages, then turning airport mode OFF" -- to no avail. I'm receiving an alert that I've reached capacity...
just got a 5s and have email set up on my phone and on work computer to get emails sent to both devices so i can view whenever and wherever. Email shows up on phone but immediately after you open and read it, it deletes and i cant find it anywhere. But it does come thru and doesnt delete on my computer. how do i get the messages to not delete automatically on my phone?Â
Every time I try to delete messages off my iphone 5 my phone freezes, so I have to close out of the messages app and then when I restart the app, it goes blank and tells me I have no messages at all. So then I have to restart the phone, and when I do that, everything I deleted reappears in the app. So now after months ofr dealing with this issue, I have over 6 gigs of messages stored on my phone that I cannot get rid of. I have tried backing up my phone, resetting all settings and contents, restoring it from a new backup, everything.

I've noticed this twice today. I'm in the middle of a conversation in iMessage with another iPhone user. I'm responding to their message, and they send me another before I can finish mine. I see it for a split second, and then it disappears.
Info: iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1, with another iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1
