IPhone 5 :: Could Not Be Restored Due To Unknown Error - Now It Doesn't Sync With ITunes
Dec 12, 2014
I forgot passcode on my iphone5 and tried to restore it through itunes on my PC. However it gave me an error message saying that that my phone could't be restored due to an unknown error. Now my phone does't turn off and it doesn't sync with itunes.
I am trying to restore an 3gs Iphone with the latest OS and all I keep getting is: The Iphone "Iphone" could not be restored. A unknown error occured (-1). The Iphone has not had Jailbreak so its not that.
Tried restoring iPhone after latest update. Error Message read: "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1)." I have my iPhone for just 2 month and never tried to jailbreak. The error occurred while attempting to instal Apple's software on iTunes.
what does 'the iPhone could not be restored. an unknown error occurred (-1)' mean? what do I do? i cannot restore my phone. this message always comes out.
I can't restore or update my phone... When I try to restore or update, I get the error "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9)". I've seen many people with this issue, but I have yet to find a fix.
Info: iPhone 5s, iOS 8.1.1, Trying to update from 8.1 to 8.1.1
last night my 4 month iPhone 4s (SIM free) shut down . i pushed the 2 buttos while connnecting to the power and he restarted. It happened again this time i connected it to the computer and have been asked to upgrade the operting system to 5.1 and then to restore the phone. it worked for 12 houres and shut down again. this time while connect it to the computer iTune came with the message:"could not be restore, An unknown error(28).
Info: iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1, the phone have shut down during the
While upgrading my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.2 something went wrong and came up with the message "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred [1015]" Now it will not start at all. It just stays on screen with USB and the iTune picture. What can I do to get it going again. I only tried to upgrade because I was prompted to up-grade and now I am helpless. I did a backup before starting the upgrade. The error message did not tell what to do next.
So the other day, I had plugged my roughly 2 year old iPhone 3GS into my macbook pro to charge, when it suddenly had a strange crash and said it needed to be restored. It took several hours to finally restore after many -1 errors. Now however, it cannot start syncing so I cant go back to the way my iphone was before the restore. Also, I can't use wifi or iMessage - it says that my username or password must have changed when it hasn't at all, and the wifi option is just gray, I cant even open it in settings. Nothing seems to be working, except basic texting and calling.
I got my iPhone 5 replaced with a new phone from apple as there was a device issue.Â
i had a back up sync on my laptop with th eold iphone. but when i got a new one i wasnt unable to sync that wil the old content on the laptop. It asked me for a software upgrade. I connected the new phone to another laptop and got the software upgarded.. but unfortunately when i syned the new phone with the itunes restiored on my phone.. nothing got synced except whatsapp. I lost my photos, contacts and videos.. is there any way if i use the "reset sync history" i will be able to get the contents of my old phone on this new iphone.?Â
I have a black screen on my iPhone 4 saying iTunes with the usb picture underneath. Have connected it to macbook and opened iTunes.  It recommends I restore and update which I have tried. I then get a message saying it cannot be restored. error 2008. Followed all the troubleshooting guide on apple website - latest update for iTunes, turning computer off, no other devices connected etc and have searched the web to find out what this error is but cannot find anything about error 2008.
my iPhone 4S won't be restored with iTunes, giving error 4013. I think I tried everything: DFU mode, another cable, another computer, reinstalling itunes...nothing works. The Phone suddenly stopped working completely yesterdag showing the apple logo for a few minutes, turning black. showing the logo, turning black et cetera. Just after the WiFi finally ended to be greyed out....Now I only see the 'connect to iTunes' picture.
My iPhone 3GS 16gb, is stuck in restore mode, downloaded and tried to do a restore multiple times. Keep getting an error The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. Unknown error occured (-1). Cannot get it out of restore mode, keeps rebooting!I have tried to hold the "home" and "power" button to reboot I have tried powering it off I have tried, to unplug the cable, hold the "home" button and then plug it in.Can't check the SN or warranty, cause it is stuck in restore mode.Is the hard drive gone? Should there be something replaced.
When I start the Media Sync program on my XP machine I immediately get a pop up that says the program has encountered an error and needs to close. It is the most recent version. This problem seems to not to be affected by whether or not Media Sync is started alone or through the Desktop manager.
However, the program opens, and acts like it is running anyway. (Just ignore the pop up.) A week ago, it was seeing my iTunes library and I could use it to put music from a playlist onto my Tour. Now, however, it does not see the iTunes library/playlist. It says it my library contains no songs. Sometimes, multiple attempts to start it it, it will see them, but then I cannot click the boxes that allow me to choose the playlist to sync them to the BB.
after dropping my Iphone 4 on the floor it can't connect to my PC, the error i am getting in Itunes is "Itunes was not able to establish connection to this iphone, caused by unknown error 0xE8000001". Itunes suggest to go into an applestore and get it solved but since third party has replaced the screen will apple not touch it....I have tred to uninstall itunes after closing down a few apple files via "task manager" and hard restored the Iphone but the phone will not acctivate, only get to the screen saying "connect to itunes". when i plug in a fully functional USB cable in a fully functional USB plug in my PC (windows 7, 64bit) does the phone connect and disconnect with the PC a few times, sometimes it keep on connecting/disconnecting but when the phone able to establish connection do i get a box saying "error 0xE8000001" and when clicking on the phone can i see its charging the battery but no possibilities to make a firmware restore or anything els. (have only the option to "eject" the iphone). is it possible to go one more step back than "hard restore" so the phone need to reinstall all hardware ect ect?
