I am not able to move an app to the dock on my iPhone 5. I can move the app from page to page, but when I drag the app to the dock, it bounces back to its original position.Â

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought the Atrix just for the docks (I have the car and lapdock) and after spending that much money I expect better from Motorola. I've updated to gingerbread if that help. The car dock hasn't rebooted the phone as much as the lapdock does but my lapdock is now useless.

In each case the dock worked fine for a short time, then phone suddenly stopped going into "dock mode" when inserted. The connection is OK: Still charges the phone. Just no dock mode features, which is why I bought the dock in the first place. Tried every combination of seating while turned on/off, seating then turning on/off, powering and de-powering dock, etc. No dice. Phone docks fine and enters car dock mode with car cradle. Using provided charger(s) with dock(s). Have not tried full reset of phone due to hassle of reinstalling apps, etc., but powered up, removed battery, etc. Am I really so unlucky as to get two defective docks or is there a software issue here?

My friend just bought a new iPhone. He had been syncing it for awhile to his old PC, which is now just dead in the water. He got a new iPhone and wants to move his data (contacts etc) to the new iPhone, without iTunes. He doesn't have an iCloud account yet, so I think he can just make an iCloud account on his old iPhone, turn on syncing, then go to the new iPhone and do the same. If not, then I have a Mac with iTunes. I can make a new user account for him, and then plug in the iPhone and I think backup the iPhone to iTunes.

When I try and download the ringtone again from iTines, it is asking me to pay again. Is there a way to re-download previously purchased ringtones? I run iTunes on a Windows 7 machine. However is this method the same for migrating from a pc to a mac or vice versa? Are the backup directories similar just as the itunes library directories are similar?

I was almost at the end of my iPhone contract when it broke so rather than shell out for a new one i thought i'd pick up a pa as yo go handset with similar features to keep me going until my contract is up in September. I've purchased a Nokia E5-00 and i must say i like it with the exeption of a few questions:
1: Is there a timer and if so where is it?
2: i synced my contacts (from a Mac) and they all show up correct but when i get a text message it only shows the number rather than the person even though they are in my contacts list?
3: How can i activate or tell when the phone is using 3G? The i{hone used to show it in the top corner and would pick it up when available. Is there a setting to turn it on somewhere?
The TomTom car kit is currently available only for the normal iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3G S. As iPhone 4G is a newer product from Apple, it has not been tested for the TomTom car kit. Hence we regret that we will not be able to comment on its compatibility with iPhone 4G as of now. However, we are getting a lot of requests from customers regarding the same query and we are in a process to release a iPhone 4G compatible version of TomTom car kit soon.

I just spent an hour speaking with AT&T "Customer Service" and was appalled that they will neither waive early termination fees ("ETFs") nor unlock iPhones for customers moving to foreign countries. Although they have never been willing to unlock iPhones, they used to waive ETFs until a discreet policy change around January 2010. If you make the company whole for their iPhone subsidy by paying an ETF, how is it fair to leave you with a locked device that is useless outside AT&T's network?
Does anybody have tips for getting around this? They will not even let you switch to a prepaid plan or suspend your account for more than 6 months if you want to keep your phone number. The only option is to transfer your contract liability to someone else who is willing to accept it, which is an unlikely and generally useless option.
i finally got myself a macbook pro and i love it! anyway to get to my question. my iphone was synced with my pc so all my apps contacts and music are all on my pc, but now i've got my macbook i want to start syncing it with that instead. i see a way to do it on Internet were you move the itunes music library.xml and the itunes music library files from one to the other (old pc to new pc/old mac to new mac) so that the phone thinks its syncing to the same computer iirc? but i don't think it works from pc to mac? because the itunes music library file on the pc is a .itl file but on the mac it isn't? i've tried changing the file name to just itunes music library (instead of itunes music library.itl) but it doesn't work? so i just wanted to know if there was a way of doing it?

We will live there for 12 to 13 months.We've been AT&T users for five years and upgraded to iPhones last summer. As you might expect, we've become pretty attached to our phones and would like to use the Wi-Fi feature overseas (as well as Skype for international calls, of course). However, we do not want to stay with AT&T the next 12 months (prolonged international AT&T usage = bad idea), and therefore plan on getting some cheap phones in Dublin from a local provider so that my wife and I can communicate when we're apart.
This is where you come in. What can we do to cut ties with AT&T but continue Wi-Fi usage of our iPhones? I did some research this morning and read several accounts of individuals canceling AT&T service, removing the SIM card and using their iPhone like an iTouch without issue. However, other accounts mentioned that AT&T can disconnect Wi-Fi when customers cancel service--not sure how that's possible, but there you have it.On another note, do you know of a way to suspend AT&T service for one year so that we don't need to pay monthly bills but also don't need to pay the account cancellation fee? Probably a long shot, but it would be the most convenient option.I thought I would ask around here before making the call to AT&T and showing some CSR all of my cards. Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
Ok, my wife just switched from VZ and was on an Android based phone, but she no longer needs her GMail Contacts but we want to move them and her Calendar to the iPhone and start Syncing her MobileMe, how can we do this.Everytime I think it is done and remove her GMail account from her phone her contacts go puff. I have 120 photos in my iPhone that I would like to move to my iPhoto on my iMac. I have emailed 1 - 3 photos to the email I use on my iMac, but here I have 120 photos. I got an iPhoto app for my iPhone thinking that would have an easy way to move photos from my iPhone to iPhoto on my iMac. I have not found any way to move a large number of photos from the iPhone to my iMac. I thought maybe when I connected to my iMac to Sync I would find a way to move a large number of photos but as yet I have found no way. How can I get these 120 photos (each about 1.3mb) from my iPhone to my iMac (iPhoto)?
