BB Curve :: Keeps Freezing/Typing Random Characters?
Jun 25, 2011I was working a festival as Security/Staff yesterday and I dropped my phone a few times, I got bored sitting around so I downloaded an app called Erie PA Scanner, it worked okay for awhile, then I went to dial somebody and it kept pressing 3 down at a time, wouldnt let me erase, and it was a big problem. Ive had this problem before too, I was just able to delete the app... then it went back to normal, but now I cant even enter my password properly to gain access to my phone . What should I do here ? I absolutely need this phone

1) Random Reboots
2) Touch Screen unresponsiveness (Rather a dead screen)
Most of the people complain about the touch screen being unresponsive. Whereas for me the touch screen goes dead and I have to do a hard reset every time the screen goes dead.

Nov 18, 2011The following has been happening since before the latest update, and continued after.My phone will randomly reboot itself (there doesn't seem to be any correlation with what I'm doing) and then hang at the rotating red logo.If I push the power button the display will turn off, but after that no buttons have any effects.If I plug the phone in the display comes back on to the unlock screen, but the touch screen is also unresponsive.The phone is definitely still running though, as my bluetooth headset will reconnect and time-based notifications will still happen (I have the phone set to beep every half hour).If I leave the phone sitting for a significant length of time I will notice it getting warm, and it will eventually reboot again and behave normally.Battery pull does nothing.Wiping the cache partition does nothing.I've done a factory reset before, and this makes the problem go away for a while, but it comes back.

Mar 5, 2010I upgraded my Nokia 5800 to the latest firmware (US: 40.2.005). I'm not sure I like this new firmware. When a calendar event alarm surfaces on the touchscreen (new buttons in this firmware), if the keypad is locked, the touchscreen is unresponive when attempting to hit the STOP or SNOOZE button. Strangely, the calendar alarm recurs with the normal touchscreen message (old firmware) subsequently and is responsive to the buttons (despite a keypad lock). Please advise how I can eliminate one of the two repeat calendar alarms or make the new calendar alarm responsive to touch when my keypad is locked. I try to unlock the keypad and it does not work during this time.

Apr 26, 2015I cannot download certain files? With music, it tries to to play the track rather than download it and epubs just wont download. About the only thing that downloads is a pdf? Videos don't even download... Its not a space issue. 4gb free on my card. Its not battery related and it's not network related. Tried on my wifi and off the phones network (vodacom LTE).

Jul 26, 2010I have a problem with my Blackberry and would be grateful if anyone knows what the problem is.I have only my Blackberry 9700 bold for 1 month or so.I am unable to lock my keypad by using the lock key on top of the phone. This has happened before but after charging my phone it started to work again. I have turned my phone on and off, tried charging it and the button still doesn't work. Although the keypad will lock when I put it into the leather case.Do you think it is a problem with my blackberry and I should return it? Or is this a problem people have had before and if so, how do I fix it?

Apr 17, 2010I recently bought a Blackberry Curve 8530 last month, and everything has been going smoothly up until the past week or so.Every time I hit the "End Call" button it results in the Blackberry typing out the letters "NM" repeatedly. If I keep hitting it, it just types out "Nmnmnmnmnmnmnm" ... I have tried a battery pull, multiple times. I've tried a software update. I don't know what else I can do to fix it.
It's driving me insane, I'm in love with my new BB (first time user!), but this is really killing the enjoyment. I've read about this problem with other phones and I'm worried it might move on to other letters and keys, forcing me to not be able to use the phone at all.If anybody can help me I'd greatly appreciate it. I've combed these forums for hours looking for a solution, but to no avail. Someone want to give a BB newbie a break?

I intend to download the maps on PC then use the maps on the phone in offline mode at all times. If I'm in London, and wanted to find a hotel, could I just run a search for hotels within the city? Or another example, wanting to search for a local McDonalds? Dec 3, 2015I sync contacts with a corporate Exchange / Outlook account. I can manage contacts on the phone or PC. Any contact who has say a business, home or mobile number and a fax number specified, if I go to the dialer, start typing their name, it does show the contact and a number (no indication of type such as fax or cell) so I tap that choice. Sadly, no, I can't just tell from looking at the number if it is fax or not. The phone dials the fax # which of course is incredibly annoying to my ear and that this dumb phone doesn't know not to try a fax number as the first choice for any contact who has a fax number.
I know I can set the default number per contact but I have hundreds of contacts and to go through each one to see if they have a fax and change it would really suck. Is there seriously no way to tell the phone not to use fax as first choice by default?

They asked if I wanted my receipt emailed to me, which I said yes, and gave them the email address that's registered with Apple. Ever since then, I receive emails from Apple in Chinese and now when I look at the App Store or iTunes on my iPhone 4S or iPad 4, all menus are in Chinese. I've logged into my iTunes account and it says that I'm registered in the U.K.. In addition, both the iPhone & iPad, have there regions set to the U.K.. Does anyone know how I can get my account registered back to British English and/or U.K.?

May 20, 2012It's stuck on the apple logo screen and I've tried entering into DFU mode, I've tried hard resetting it, and I've tried connecting it to my computer.
I don't know exactly what happened before this occured as it's my mom's phone and she said that all she did before this was accidently shut off the phone and when she tried to open it, it was like this.
I'm about to just let the phone's battery die in order to shut it off and see if that works but does anyone know what's wrong or if there's a faster way to cause the phone to shut off so I can restart it?

Mar 14, 2012For the last couple of weeks my screen has been starting to act kind of weird. The problem is that the screen become unresponsive from time to time. For the most of the time when the screen stop responding I can "reset" it by pressing the sleep-button and then wake the phone up again or tilt it to landscape-mode. It's very enoying and I don´t know what to do. For example, just a regular text/sms takes like 8-9 "resets" as described above, to finish.
I use the latest software for both iOS and iTunes. The phone has not been a subject to "brute force" or any kind of liquids and part from a few very small scratches the phone looks like new (kind of).

Apr 11, 2012My iPhone 3gs has become slow and sometimes unresponsive. There are boxes around the areas I press and when the phone turns on there's a box around the time at the top of the screen. When I press on the "slide to unlock" area a box appears around the banner holding the slide bar, the bar will slide along slowly and then once the keys for entering the password comes up boxes appear around the keys I press but the numbers won't enter into the password so I am unable to lock my phone. I am not quite sure what to do, I have seeked answers online but cannot find any.

Apr 22, 2012My touchscreen has stopped working. There were no error messages. It was intermittenent for about one hour before it stopped completely. At first I could turn it off and turn it back on again. It would work again for about 5 minutes then become unresponsive again. I am unable to turn it off even now. I cleaned the screen, it wasn't dirty. I've updated to iOS 5. I restored to factory settings and its the same issue. It hasn't had a bang or anything.

May 17, 2012I dropped my iPhone 3G onto hard tiles and the top half of the front screen popped out. Was getting flickering visuals on the screen as I tried to press the phone back together. I realized the power button had somehow turned sideways, so I attempted to push it back into place. The rest of the screen then popped off. I reconnected the wires but could not see anything on my screen. Put it on the charger last night and heard it beep like normal. When I woke up this morning, though, it was completely unresponsive. No visuals, no sounds, plugged into the computer and it's not being recognized. Tried to reset, still not getting a response.
