Mar 21, 2012I have blocked my ex's phone number through my phone service provider, but he is still able to send me messages through imessage as if he is not blocked. Apparently, apple uses it's own server seperate from the carrier. How do I block his imessages without completely blocking the ability to use the imessage feature?

Sep 5, 2014I have a huge problem with texting people who switched phones from iPhone to ie Samsung or Sony and no longer have iMessage option. My iPhone still recognizes these contacts as iPhone(iMessage). Â Everytime I want to text them I have to switch the iMessage option off (or really quickly press the button 'send as an sms'. , but thats no fun or working well whatsoever). Â How can I 'tell' my iphone that these contacts are no longer iPhone users, so don't try to iMessage them? Â

Jun 2, 2012I'm thinking of abandoning the I-Phone altogether because of two annoyances that get only worse, not better, with time. But if any newer I-Phone (I currently have the 3GS) has removed these annoyances, I will upgrade.
1. I want txt alerts to continue (every minute or two) until I have opened and read a text message. Does any model I-Phone allow for this?
2. I want to disable predictive text as I don't like the I-Phone algorhthym for this -- it causes me endless grief. Which model allows for this?
3. I want my battery to last a minimum of 2 days without charging (I've tried all the usual ways of reducing battery consumption and the result does not meet my needs). Does any model I-Phone allow for this?

Apr 7, 2012i have noticed that after switching to ios 5.1 my phone has been acting funny. for example: when i am messaging other iphone users with iMessage, it keeps switching from iMessage to regular text every 2 or 3 messages. at first i thought it was the other person since i am normally within my works wifi network and at my home wifi network, but it seems that this problem only occurs to other people when imessaging with me and not with anyone else. and this problem occurs to me while imessaging everyone, so i have come to the conclusion that the problem must be my phone. i have noticed this problem to occur since updating to ios 5.1. has anyone else experienced this problem? what can i do? i am 2 steps shy of reinstalling my phone.

Nov 16, 2011I have a Droid Bionic, and ever since i got the phone, i randomly do not get text messages from another user with an Iphone on the Verizon network. It may be happening with other phones, but I'm only aware of the Iphone because she lives with me. Anyone else having issues with not being able to receive texts? I get no notification or anything. It's as if they weren't sent, but they went through on the originating phone.

As a result, I am being charged for sending an international message, when I would rather just write an email or skype (if iMessage wasnt going to do its job). May 1, 2012Usually when I write an sms it shows up green and imessages shows up blue, and they both show up chronologically in the same window. I.e. my iphone understands it is from the same person and therefor post both types of messages in the same window. However a month ago or so my boyfriends imessages started showing up in a seperate window from his regular green text messages... Why? We have changed no settings of any sort. Nothining has been altered, and on his iphone both types of texts show up in the same window. My other iphone contacts also show up in the same window with both green an blue texts. How come his dont? His email as such is not a part of his contact details, i did however try adding it to see if that would help make the messages go in the same window but it didnt He has a iphone 3s i have 4, (not s).All I want is for the blue and the green messages to live together in perfect harmony within one window...

May 17, 2012I would like to know how I can turn off iPhone's iMessage system and just send regular text messages to other iPhone users.Here's why.On two separate occassions I have missed a date with the same guy because we would send each other messages, and get no reply. Why? Because the iPhone appears to choose to send it as an iMessage.But because one or the other isn't connected to a wireless port at the time it doesn't go through.so we're both waiting for the other to reply and it never happens.So we assume the other is asleep, phone died, whatever and plans are automatically cancelled.We take the train home and then iMessage floods both of our phones with 30 minutes worth of texts.
I would like to have the ability to send a text as a text message, and only send an iMessage when I choose it to be the wiser of two methods of sending a text.iMessage is not my preffered method of sending a text because it doesn't work as well.It does a terrible job of letting me know when it can't send and it utilizes wifi which is less abundant than the network I'm on.Moreover I have unlimited texts with my plan.So I don't understand the point of a phone automatically trying to send texts through wifi when it doesn't work as well,inadvertantly cancels my date twice, and leaves me bitter and ALONE at home again.So do I have an option to just send texts as regular texts? Or is this a new feature that I can't control?
