IPhone 4s :: How To Sync / Backup Data Without Losing All Files
Dec 5, 2014
My old laptop is damaged , I have iPhone 4s , I'm getting new laptop. So how can I sync it or back up the data without losing all the files in the iPhone
My new iPhone (5s) was set as a new phone due to a fear that my back up may be corrupt.( Tech advice) it’s been 3 weeks since then and it was confirmed that my previous phone was a defect. Now I want to restore my back up without losing any current data.
I have a CURVE 8520.The device is wiped and I lost all my data. I have installed BB Protect but there are no backup files, how can I find the old backup files from this software BB Protect.
It wiped my old calendar entries (even though I have "Keep Forever" selected on the options), but I need all the past calendar items because I used it for keeping track of meetings, events, etc.Short of reinstalling an old backup, copying into Outlook, and then re-installing my current version, is there any other way of getting that info out of the backup file and into Outlook. I really don't want to install a previous version of the backup onto my phone because when I do, it never carries over many of the phone ringing settings, etc. and it takes me forever to get things back to normal.(I am running an older version of the device software on my phone (5.0.0.714) because I can't stand the new version's calendar view.)
My laptop which my iphone was synced to recently broke so I had to get a new computer. I have read online how I can sync my phone between 2 computers using a hex editor, however I cannot access my itunes on the old computer to get the digits needed to edit with my new computer. Any ideas how I can use the phone with my new computer without losing all my phone music, contacts, messages etc?
My old bold 9700 OS 5 phone just died and I have a backup IPD file. My question is I just bought a 9780 phone with OS 6, will i be able to restore my data without any issues or losing data?
My new MacBook pro has just arrived, and I'm now faced with the challenge of moving my iTunes library from my old windows PC to the mac. I have been able to move everything but the iPhone.
I'm sure you are aware, syncing the iPhone with a new computer requires the data to be erased, but I'd like to retain my data, especially the game saves on my iPhone, angry birds etc.
So how would I go about doing this? Do I need to back up my iPhone on my PC, transfer the backup file and restore on the new mac?
My iPhone 6 is about three weeks old and it keeps losing its data signal. I'm on AT&T and have good coverage throughout my area (never an issue with my 4s). The result is that when I'm off of wifi I periodically can't use Siri/internet/visual voicemail. It comes back if I completely restart my phone. This started happening a few days ago sporadically but I'm losing the data connection multiple times a day now. What's going on?
Does anyone have a weird issue of data dropping completely during the call? When I place a call the 3g icon disappears completely and nothing that requires data works until I hung up. Once I hang up the 3g service is restored pretty much instantly. Also the top of the phone where earpiece is gets very hot during the call. I called apple and they told me to come to the store and get a replacement. I just wanted to confirm if this problem is widespread as I will be getting the replacement from the same store. I guess it might be relevant - I am using a bumper case.
My girlfriend's phone (bought through vodafone rather than apple store) doesn't have this issue.
On another issue (or non-issue) I also noticed that my front camera is a lot less saturated that hers for some reason. When I place a facetime call and hold both phones together, the colors are very different . Hers is slightly over saturated and mine doesn't have any vibrancy to colors at all. Not sure what to make of it but there might be different sensors on iPhones (I remember reading somewhere that there is not enough production of 5mp sensors at any single factory)
How do I permanently & completely change the PC I sync my iPhone 4 to? I already lost all music and data when dinosaur PC died forever. I have a new laptop and want to be able to sync again without losing the only music and data I have -- the stuff still on my iPhone. I sync contacts through Exchange and email, calendars and notes to Gmail.
This is seriously frustrating and I understand where apple are coming from with the whole 'what if someone steals it from you' but to be fair this is quite badly thought out. Laptop's have a life of about 3/4 years and unfortuantly mine has 'kicked the bucket'. I need to get the pictures off of my phone with out sending all 1,000 odd to other people and spending all the mms costs. It would be nice to have all of my apps and songs too but to be honest these are secondary to me. What can I do?
I previously had an iPhone 4 and 3Gs at the same time, but since then have sold them. Now when I try to sync my apps to iTunes it says that I can't unless I revert my apps to a previous setting that was used for either my iPhone 3gs or iPhone 4 and my other apps will be deleted.. I only use this computer now, but used to use another computer that was a pc. It is quite unstable so it wouldnt' be very easy to get on it grab my old files that I'm sure aren't complete anyways. All I need to do is take everything from this iPhone and back it up on my Macbook Pro.
I have heaps of music from my old work computer on my phone. I want to sync to my computer at home now. How can I do this without losing the music and other data???
I have a few games that i dont wanna loose my levels in them, and i really need to re sync my iphone with a different computer, is it possible to be able to be sure that it wont loose the progress in those games.
I have a new computer and have backed up iPhone and restored it from my computer. However, when I go to sync apps it appears as if it will overwrite my current folder settings. I don't want to have to re-arrange 140 apps into folders again.
My wife's iphone was tied to a laptop iTunes library. The laptop's hard drive died some time ago, and she has since refused to update the iOS version or sync the phone with another computer, for fear of losing access to the considerable amount of non-iTunes MP3s that were formerly on her laptop, and are now only stored on her iPhone.
So my question is twofold:
1) Can I update the iOS for her without syncing the itunes library on the phone? She is currently running iOS 3.1.3 (7E18). If I can update it, how do I do so safely?
2) Is there any way to set up a new iTunes library on her new laptop without destroying the music library she already has on the phone?
My goal would be to simply get the iOS version and iTunes database up to the latest version, so we can subscribe her to the iCloud service and back up all her music.
