After restorting I realised the most recent back up I had was for April. So I used that back up. Feb 28, 2015Since 2/23, I have had massive data usage at random times. 1GB here and there, sometimes in the middle of the night.My Data Sense shows that the "Restore data" app has used 8.17 GB in the last two days. All of my other apps are using negligible amounts of data.What is the "Restore data" app, and how do I tell it to stop using so much data?
One additional bit of info: 2/23 was also the date that the Microsoft Health app updated. I use a MS Band. It seems like there may have been some type of update pending on the band. When I called Verizon's tech support, they said that the pending update might have something to do with the massive data usage. We completed the update to the Band, and they said to give it another day to see if the data usage continues. What this "Restore data" app is, it doesn't sound like it has anything to do with the Band.

I currently have it backed up to my Mac via iTunes. Is there any value to setting up iCloud as its backup before I procede?
I would back it up to my Mac as well. I want to retain my settings as best as I can.

Jun 13, 2012at first i restored my phone as new, then i restore again from backup, but the photos won't sync to my phone.everything else was back; contacts, mail, note, sms, wallpaper but no photos and apps. for those apps it's ok i can download them back but how can i get my photos back?i check my backup files, the photos are there but it won't sync to my phone, there are over 2600+ pics, if there is any better way than that i have to rename every sigle files one by one.there is a weird thing, on my backup files the time last modified and the time shown on itune when u choose which backup file u want to restore from, are not the same, there are slighly different, althoght the lates one are the same but the result still the same no photo; even in every file there are photos in it.

Dec 5, 2014I updated my iphone 5S, which I regret because it made my music app unplayable. I backed it up before updating, while trying to restore my phone from that back up an error message pops up sayif there is not enough room to restore from back up. There's 16.6 GB used and 10.2GB available. I read online that I can go to settinga > general > erase all content and settings, and that would free up the space to restore from back up. However I had this same issue on my old phone and no matter how much I deleted from my phone there still wasn't enough room to restore from back up. So I'm concerned that if I do clear my phone by erasing all content and settings that I will still be unable to restore my phone from back up and then I'll just be screwed.

how I would accomplish this through backing up my device? From what I understand, if you backup your device, deleted texts are included in the backup file. If I were to restore my iPhone using this backup file, would the previously deleted texts now show back up on the phone? This is the part I don't fully understand.

Mar 26, 2012I'm using an iPhone 4S with iOS 5.1, and am on the latest iTunes software on a MacBook Pro with OSX Lion.I have one app on my iPhone that has stopped working - it won't even open. It'll give me the launch screen, and then immediately crash.So I think I need to uninstall the app, and then reinstall it. But I don't want to lose the data I have on it. I don't need to do a full iPhone restore; that would be overkill. Is there a way to restore a single app's data without doing a full iPhone restore?I have my iPhone backed up to both iCloud and my computer, and I have the backup on iCloud set to back this app up specifically.Also: the app's developers are very slow to respond to these types of requests/issues, so I don't feel that that is a viable path.

Mar 21, 2010I posted yesterday about being stuck on the apple logo. It somehow worked itself out and I was able to back everything up. Today I noticed that the WI-FI was greyed out and when I went to reset it, it went back to the apple logo and is again locked there.

Jul 1, 2010I've been speaking to AT&T reps for days now about this issue, and today one of them told me something different which hasn't been considered on these forums. It's probably nothing, but for those of you who are having really slow/spotty 3G browsing speeds even with 5 full bars of 3G, did you guys restore your iPhone 4 from a back up or did you set it up as a new iPhone? i don't know if there is any kind of relation between this and the issue, but it doesn't hurt to speculate. I myself have restored from a backup and I am experiencing this issue hardcore. The AT&T rep recommended that I restore the phone and set it up as a new iPhone. Is anyone who set up as a new phone also having this issue?
