My iPhone 4s (with upgraded OS) takes awhile to load up over a thousand emails where I tap that icon.
Is there a way to delete them all at once? The "Delete" tab on the bottom always seems to be grayed out.

When you view your email through the preinstalled apps, either Hotmail or Google. When you viewed them and deleted them then return to your email on a PC/Desktop the emails you've deleted are still there?

Why doesn't Apple in its infinite wisdom have a way of deleting all emails at once from the inbox instead of requiring iphone users to tediously check each email after tapping edit and then deleting emails in bunches or singly.

I have my AOL email account set up on my iPhone 4, and I get duplicates of every email that I receive. So when I open my email there is 2 of every one listed, and when I delete them I have to delete both of them.

Now when i delete my emails on my phone they now delete from my Macbook and the server as well i am using a BTinternet account as i have just sighed up to their broadband. In the search, I type a search term like "agoda" and all the Agoda emails come up.
When I hit edit (in order to make each one have a radio button that I can touch to select that email and delete it), not all of them have the radio button.
If I do cancel out and try again, even less radio buttons come up.
