Aug 23, 2015I've seen numerous websites detailing how to turn off the shutter sound but none the other way around. My camera does not make any sounds when I take a picture and there is no toggle in the settings to turn it back on. I haven't downloaded any app to turn off the sound either. I know the sound exists because when I take a screenshot it makes the familiar "click" but no sound when I take a picture with the camera.

Jan 25, 2016I want to turn off the camera shutter sound when you make a picture or a video but i dont have this option in my settings (cause its not allowed in my country). I have the unikernel and have root. I DONT WANT TO USE ANOTHER CAMERA APP!!! So i navigated to /system/media/audio/ui and i clicked every audio file and i deleted all the sounds that had to do with the camera app and now it doesnt make any sounds when i make a picture or a video ONLY WHEN I MAKE A SELFIE WITH THE FRONT CAM IT STILL MAKES THE SHUTTER SOUND, BUT THE SOUND ISNT IN THE DIRECTORY!!! I only have this problem on the frontside cam when i make a picture!! What can i do to remove the shutter sound for the front cam? I am on 5.1.1 and i have the unikernel stock and i have a sm-g920f

Jan 6, 2013I have an Xperia Active ST17i, android versions 4.0.4, and ever since I bought it I'm trying to find a way to turn off the sound but now luck. I have no option in my camera application. I read on different forums that I need to modify my build.prop file. Can't do that since I can't root my phone. I found the file, I found the line that I need to modify, but can't touch it ofc. I tried factory reset, in the hopes that it would put the camera sound from 1 to 0, but still no luck. I tried to put the phone on silet. Every application is silent, expet for the freakin` camera!!
So how the heck do I turn off that freakin` sound?

Save and restart Phone.
Open Camera - Settings - last line there you can find the ShutterSound!

Dec 25, 2010I'm using a software called YBrowser to snoop around my Nokia E72 file system.I found out that the sound files for the camera shutter, auto-focus, etc. are located in the following path:[URL]... So I proceed to create a silence wav file (of about 10 kb).My ideia, simple enough, would be to replace the shutter sound file with this silence file and give it the same name, so as not to cause conflicts of any kind.
Although the YBrowswer allows me to snoop around the whole system files, it doesn't allow me paste new files, or even delete the 'CamcorderJavaCapture.wav' (which is the file I'd like to replce).I could access the Z:/ volume of my phone and do this?If not through the phone, maybe through a Terminal window and the E72 connected to my Mac via USB?

Jun 7, 2012There are only 3 options sound 1 2 and 3. However, I want it to off. It is so annoying that the shutter sound is so loud that everyone will look at me when I take pictures.
That is unfair that the phones selled in telecom company can turn off the shutter sound but others can't. At least the volume can be down. It is too annoying and emberssing. I am pretty sure that iPhone can turn it off! Hence, I believe there are no policies to force the shutter sound to be so loud!
