I bought my X7 just today and I was playing a game on it at work, when all of a sudden my screen went black. I thought it had locked itself so I pressed the button and touched where it says unlock but all it did was vibrate. I tried turning it off but as far as I can tell it won't turn off, keeps vibrating when I touch the same spot. I tried plugging it in for 5-10 min to see if it was cause it was going flat but still nothing...

View 4 Replies View RelatedJust got a problem with my X6. When I switch it on the phone vibrates and the three lights at the bottom of the phone come on. ( the call, menu and end keys). But the screen stays black. I try pressing the power button but nothing. Take out the battery and leave it out for a while then but it back in. Press the power button, phone vibrates, the three lights come on but the screen stays black. I have not yet tried the four finger reset method although I guess I might have to.Anyone got any ideas what the problem might be.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI thought that the X7 is supposed to use the proximity sensor to send the screen black during a call because it is next to your face. My phone automatically puts the screen black when I make a call, even if the phone is on the desk or held out in space. Either way, it is very rare for me to be able to convince the phone to bring the screen display back up, ( to do things like enter little things like pin codes ). I flip it around, hold it up to the lights, put it against something, take it away, press every part of the screen. Is there any way of setting the phone not to go black during a call?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am helping out a friend who has a Nokia 6280. She claimed that it's infected by a virus because her problems started after using a Bluetooth headset. I don't quite believe this as I've heard it's more likely to be struck by lightning than to have this phone infected with a virus. Anyhow, the problem is the following: When you power on the phone, you get the Nokia handshake, then the phone loads. However, as soon as the phone loads, a bunch of black lines appear to streak across the screen rendering it black. That's not a huge issue because it goes away after a few seconds. Now I've read this could be an issue related to the ribbon that connects to the screen, but the screen turning black does not occur in any other instance other than right after when the main screen appears. I can play with the slider all day and nothing will happen, but like clockwork the problem appears after the phone loads.What gives? The phone works fine otherwise, so what could the problem be? If you need any more information I will be happy to provide. I've uploaded a video of this issue here (using my 5800 XpressMusic at night - the quality isn't that great sorry, but it does show the problem). Pardon the audio - my kids were watching Spongebob Squarepants so you might want to turn the audio all the way down! I guess my question is two-fold:
1) can this in fact be the result of a virus?
2) if this isn't due to a virus, what is it due to?

First of all i was sending a message and the screen randomly went black and red lines came across the screen for a few seconds then it went back to my message .. Then I was charging it Good Friday and took it out to make a call and the screen went white as if I was turning the phone on as nokia came across the screen please help why is it doing this?

I have a Blackberry Curve 8530. Several months ago, during daily use, the screen would all of a sudden go black. A battery pull would solve this problem for a while. Eventually this became more frequent. Symptoms progressed (it seemed that if I set the phone down too quickly it would reset) Finally, the phone would turn on, then go immediately to a white screen where it was undetectable by my computer. I contacted my service provider and they said the phone was toast and (amazingly enough) gave me a free loaner to use for the duration of my contract (all info transfered via an old backup, so nothing was lost) After my new phone was working I left my Curve plugged in at my office. Yesterday as I was leaving I looked at the phone again, and the screen was white and telling me to reload software 507.
I plugged it into my computer to begin the process and to my surprise the computer all of a sudden detected the phone and successfully upgraded the software. All looked great, I got past the password stage, and was just going to begin reloading my information when the screen faded to blank again. I still have the free loaner phone, so it's not a big deal, but it's bugging me as to what the problem could be. As of right now the computer can no longer detect the phone again
I got an iPhone 5s what the screen is totally black, but the touch screen and other functions are still working, has been replaced the LCD but it keep doing the same way.

But I am at a fork in the road:(this is the thrid time the screen has done this)Last night I went to check my phone and it appeared to be off, my power button does not work so I have to plug it in to turn it on. But the charger light was on so that meant the phone was already on. the buttons lit up still as well. Being this is not the first time I took the battery out for about an hour and put it back in, plugged it in, and still nothing. The M sign that comes up when you first turn it on doesen't appear and neither does anything else on the screen. But when i recieved a call I could answer the call like the screen was working but still was not on. I left the battery out all night from 8pm-6am and still nothing but i can still answer the calls. Left it out until 2 this afternoon and still nothing. I have no idea what to do.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI love the bedside mode of the Storm 2, especially with the dock I recently purchased. The only problem is, I like the room dark as possible and even with the phone in bedside mode when charging, and the setting check to dim the clock, it's still far to bright.
Is there a way of having clock on, but have the screen go off with the usual setting to black the screen after say 30 seconds or whatever I choose for the backlighting time out, then have the screen come on if I reach over and touch the screen to display the clock, then letting the backlighting go off again after the preset time?
This would make the setup perfect for me, allowing me to use the Storm 2 as a bedside clock without having to have the display on all the time, but being able to turn it on for a short period of time as needed. If this is possible, can somebody post the settings needed

The screen wouldn't wake up despite me tapping on it, or pressing all the available buttons. Holding the power button does trigger a vibration, but I don't see a thing on the screen. However, it does wake up when I plug in the earpiece.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI dropped my iphone about 3 hours ago and it landed screen-down, but it was not shattered. everything on the phone works however i can't see anything - the screen is COMPLETELY black. i tried resetting it by pressing the home and power buttons at the same time, and it has not worked. since the phone is entirely functional except for the screen, i can hear when i get a text, etc. when i tried restarting it, I knew it worked because it made a sound when it came back on and was charging, therefore the only issue is the screen.
