I own a nokia x6, 8gb and my lock switch broke a year back. I installed softwares such as mazelock, screenlock fx,etc which enables me to lock and unlock by using the menu key (pls note i used this software successfully for atleast 10months). I recently started facing problems wherein my phone locks itself (after 20mins of usage) and even if i press the menu key or the power key, my phone shows the slide to unlock screen but if i swipe, it doesnt actually unlock (MY TOUCH SCREEN IS NOT RESPONSIVE BUT DISPLAYS THE TIME PERFECTLY). I tried all the softwares possible and this happens even with the default nokia locking software.I tried hard reset using 7370 but my phone doesnt restart.Instead i need to manually start my phone. I tried reinstalling my os using the nokia suite but everytime i get an error saying the connection to the phone was lost and MY PHONE GETS SWITCHED OFF.IT DOESNT RESTART AS ITS INTENDED TO.
After upgraded Maps 3.03 to 3.04, i noticed that navigation was acting strange thing.It could navigate successfully just only couple of time and then "Waiting for GPS" appears all later usage.So i decided to reinstall just only to find the haunting "Waiting for GPS" in navigation mode.i was so desperated that i uninstalled almost every application from E72.Now i'm facing the consequence;i cannot reinstall the Ovi Maps anymore.In the middle of installation, there is "Update error" appears.i checked version from Options -> Support -> About -> v3.03 (Of course)However, in App. Mgr. -> Installed apps. -> i found Ovi Maps successfully installed in E:But still lacking in phone (The Nokia Maps)That means it was partially installed. Success in drive E: but failed in Phone's memory.Test and trial1. Uninstall the sw. Do the hard reset (*#7370#) and reinstall it again. (Failed)2. Uninstall. Remove a microSD card (drive E and try to install the sw. (Failed) Assumption:i remember that i removed something similar to "Symbian OS pipe"Could this be the cause of the pain?
I downloaded Sports tracker in my 5800 a year ago, I uninstall it but, now, triying yo reinstall from nokia store always appear as "Downloaded" in grey color. żIt´s possible to download it again from Nokia store?.
I tried with my account frona a computer and fails too.
- i started to have Wi-Fi issues, connection dropped more than usual;
- Every time i clicked over the "Climate Mission 3D" it used to launch "JoikuSpot" instead;
- Nokia Store keeps reporting there was a new Maps Suite v2.0 even though this update/version was already in place and even if you performed the installation following that notification...;
So to get over these issues i went for a "clean installation", this wasn't possible, i tried to reinstall the system using Nokia Suite, it didn't work as it always gives back the error 12054;So, i tried the hard reset first, this worked, it wiped out everything except the info at the SD card but this step brought me even more issues, so i tried again using Nokia Suite and the issue remained, i receive the error 12054 every time i try reinstall the system.So apart from the mentioned above, i've got the following new issues:
- Wifi connection drops even more often;
- Apps installation fails a lot, thanks perhaps to the Wifi connectivity issues;
- Word, Excel, Ppt, OneNote, Broadcast, all these are gone;
- Some apps simply don't open, example: default QuickOffice;
I've reported this issue to Nokia Support and the answer was go to the next Nokia Care point..
I updated my phone firmware from v40 to v50 over the air. The download package was around 9MB in size. After the upgrade, I realised that my phone did not have all the features of v50 firmware update. For example, features like "Quick Office v4.2 integrated", "Rihanna service launcher in web browser" are missing. Then I decided to reinstall the v50 update through my laptop. So when I connected my phone with my laptop and opened the "Nokia Software Updater" it said that the update package is around 138MB. Now I face a problem. After clicking on Re-Install option in "Nokia Software Updater" the download does not stop at 138MB. Infact it does not stop at all. It goes on like 2MB of 138MB.. 4MB of 138MB.. 60MB of 138MB.. and then 200MB of 200MB... 300MB of 300MB and so on. I decided at that time to wait for some time. But it reached 350 MB and still it did not stop.
So any idea if this is expected behavior or is there a problem with my phone or the "Nokia Software Updater" software. Please note that I have the latest version of "Nokia Software Updater" installed on my laptop. Fortunately, I don't have any serious problems with my phone except that when I click on "applications" icon, it takes some time to respond.
I have a Nokia X3-02. I had a problem with the camera, each time I open it it says "Operation Failed" then goes to standby mode. I tried to restore it to factory settings, didn't work. I connected it to the Ovi Suit to check for updates, is said "There are no updates" and something like "If you are experiencing problems with the current version, you can reinstall it" so I did. I followed the steps, made the backup, waited for a while, then when the reinstall process was done, the touch screen wasn't working anymore, the keypad is working fine, the volume up/down buttons are working, everything is working except the touch screen. Its not responding! I tried to reinstall again. Still the same. I tried to reinstall, without doing a backup.

Recently bought a new bberry and downloaded/installed the bberr bridge but app icon was not to be found although subsequent attempts to download stated it was install. Other users with same problem uninstalled the app and then reinstalled it. I successfully uninstalled the bridge app but on attempting to reinstall it App world does not allow it - notes (under the icon) that it is uninstalled.

I have a N82 and want to reinstall its firmware without using any other tool as it may wipe the Warranty details.Here is the scenario OS: Windows 7 32bit Ultimate with Administrator rights Connected over: USB Original Datab cable. It was fine.. Then did the back up. Done too. After that it start the installation step. I installed Skype on my E72 and it worked fine until it suddenly disappeared one day, perhaps in connection with installing the OVI application on my pc. It seems I can't download it from OVI again because OVO or my phone or both think that I've already got Skype. How can I clean up and start again, so I can download via OVI and reinstall?
I bought an unlocked 5800XM (RM-428, fw 21.2.025) for my wife a couple of months ago. It is actually Cincinnati Bell branded, but we are using it in AT&T. Until yesterday everything was going smoothly until she was not able to send SMS's anymore.
I verified the SMS center #, all other settings etc., but to no avail. I even put my SIM in the phone and I wasn't able to do that, either. The phone was able to receive messages, though. And she was able to send messages on another phone.
So... I decided to use my Nokia PC Suite and Software Updater to check if there is an update available. No, there wasn't, but I still decided to go ahead and do a reinstall. Just in case.
The process went great, no problems, error messages etc. Except a "phone disconnected" (I never touched the phone or cable while the update process was going on) message a couple of times, which the PC Suite said is okay. Until I tried turning the phone on.
NOTHING! I press the power button and the screen lights up briefly, but that's it. Then I decided to press the button a bit longer so that I would feel the usual brief vibration when turning it on. Well, there is a vibration, but it continues for about a minute, or so, and then stops. But the phone still doesn't turn on.
How i can recover all themes and music player skins to my Nokia X3? I reinstalled phone with NSU and then after reboot, theme is default and there is no themes, and music player doesnt work. If i try go to music player it says: Not enough memory. I tried use backup in memory card but it doesnt recover themes or music player skins back. What i can do? For as long as I can remember, Maps would crash on me whenever I'd go to Settings|Navigation. I read somewhere that reinstalling the application might fix this, so I uninstalled Maps - which apparently did not really uninstall it but only reverted it to version 2.0 - and then used Nokia Maps Updater to update it back to 3.0.
Of course, this being Nokia, nothing works as it should do, and so NMU tells me that everything's ok: "There are no new updates for your phone!". Every once in a while when I try NMU again, it does find an update, called Map Data Version 0.1.23.112, a very small download that does nothing to update Maps to 3.0.
I knew that one way of "resetting" Maps is to delete the "Cities" folder and the "QF" file. I did that and tried NMU again - still no update available. The next thing I did was a phone reset - no joy.
I thought I'd "reset" it a bit more if I go to Nokia Maps Loader and I manually delete all the stored maps. I did that, and NML had this to say: "Connection to the storage medium has been interrupted. Attach your storage medium and retry.", even though I was using the same sturdy USB cable connection I've always used with no hassles. After several retries, it probably deleted all the stored maps data, although this apparently did not help.
I then tried running the update file suggested in this post - that didn't do anything by way of allowing Maps to be updated by NMU either.
I then accustomed myself to the idea of having to go back to using Maps 2.0, but - unsurprisingly - this doesn't work either: whenever I open Maps, I receive the message "Cannot open application, install latest version from nokia.com/maps". Of course, if you go to that address you are told to use Nokia Maps Updater, and so we come full circle. Thank you, Nokia, for the quality time that we have to spend trying to compensate the lack of quality in your software.
I deleted the calculator application on the mobile and want to re install the application back . But i am not able to download the application from the website.
Few days ago, I installed Irreco on my N900. At the beggining it was working fine, but I install a new remote and my config file crashed. And after a bad manipulation in the terminal I delete the Lirc module. Is anyone can help how to reinstall this module on the N900?
My N900 was failing to detect the PR1.2 upgrade over the air so I installed the latest versions of Nokia PC Suite and NSU and tried to do an upgrade that way. The new upgrade wasn't detected but NSU offered to allow me to reinstall the existing firmware which is Version 1.2009.42-11.205.1 so I did that and it appeared to do so successfully. N.B.
I now have a phone which doesn't detect the SIM and (even though the drivers appear to be correctly installed) PC Suite and NSU can't detect the phone via USB in PC Suite mode. I can still connect to the hard disk in USB Mass Storage mode and the general phone functions seem ok. What's my next step to get my phone back to a useful state and what did I or NSU do wrong? I would have been confident of using the flasher until NSU messed up my phone.
I have firmware ver 31.0.101 and I had OVI maps with navigation which worked for a couple of time then the GPS would not lock on even when I was outside with no obstructions and a friends 5800 locked on with no problem, yesterday I hard reset the phone and the GPS worked fine but I had to reinstall OVI maps and we are back to the GPS not locking on.
MY Maps do not load, online or offline. It shows me the map screen but it stays blank with a random position that i don't know of. I have tried deleting cities and qf but i dont know how to reinstall the whole maps
I bought a Nokia N97 Mini phone, but it has some custom software version. I wonder if there is a way for me to reinstall the original Nokia software and if it can be found on the internet?
I have an interesting problem with my N8 (this is an up to date phone, no hacking, no CFW).I have removed the Nokia Social App widget from the second screen, than I wanted to put them back again. Ohhh... I can't find the Social App widget in the widget list. I don't know why because I never hacked my phone, I download apps only from the store, etc... I am a little disappointed guys :
I have uninstalled the Social App and the widget app from the applications. I ran a software update check, which show me the Social App to download, it is ok, it was reinstall successfully, but... where is the widget for the Social app?So how can I reinstall the Nokia Social App widget again? Where can I download it?
