Nov 11, 2010I just got my X3-02 a week ago. One thing i'm rather irritated by is that the ringtone and SMS tone seem to be always on ascending. i did not set it to ascending. my volume is at level 5.what happens is that it will ring for about 4-5 seconds at a lower volume and then after 5 seconds, the volume suddenly becomes loud enough. Is there a way to remove this peculiar "feature?" I understand that some of the older 6XXX phones have this same problem too. Will a software update solve it? I'm currently on version 5.60

Jan 10, 2010Here I wish to post the problems I have been experiencing after I bought Nokia 5800, maybe, someone even has a magical solution for any of them.I own it since last year's November and I've spent more time re-inserting the battery and restarting it than actually using it, so I guess I sort of regret buying this smart piece of **bleep**.
So here's the list.. (any help, tips and fixes highly appreciated. Thank you!)
The video recorder often spoils the video with lags (which are file-written).An incoming call often cannot be picked up (nothing happens, it just rings. no key response)
Often the envelope symbol for new messages remains even if all messages read.The alarm clock has failed to wake me up 3 times because of the phone hanging up, and 2 more times just because of not ringing. (This is the worst part because I can't rely on this phone. What if I'm taking an important exam tomorrow? Hanging alarm clock is not an excuse, so I'm going back to the 20th century with a green-light alarm clock besides my bed, lol.)The screen rotation is so bad. I takes 5 seconds to turn the screen and often it gets confused whether to turn right or left.
If I install a new theme and set it as default (even if it's in Phone Memory), the chance of any of these bugs occuring multiplies twice.Often starting the menu or dialler pad causes the phone to hang up and nothing happens, can't even turn it off with the button. I have to reinsert the battery.The web browser often disappears without warning. A crash I guess. This **bleep** me off.The e-mail client causes problems when I set up a mailbox. What's the point of it if I can still use e-mail after uninstalling that Nokia E-mail afterwards. weird...Accessing Settings is risky, because it often hangs up and does nothing..
The media player once was unable to get rid of already deleted files. FoRtUnAtElY I found a fix (was i supposed to do that? No!).Once I couldn't access the installed application list, no matter what. Had to do a hard reset.And many more of these Sadly I knew what to expect when I was about to buy it, because I had experience with Symbian phones. In terms of reliability and satisfaction they haven't changed a bit since the first ones.

Apr 15, 2010This is an unusual situation. I have this ringtone that is a song about a cartoon character. Some kids texted it to me and I saved it in my ringtones folder. Later I tried to text it to a couple family members. On one of the attempts, it didn't attach because I hit the wrong selection (not sure what).Anyway, ever since, the song comes on constantly and plays all the way through. For example, if I receive a text, the normal text alert sound goes off. But afterwards, the song starts to play and I can't stop it until it has played through. If I receive an instant message from someone on Blackberry Messenger, the normal message alert sound goes off, but afterwards the song starts and again plays all the way through.If I make a call, after I hang up the song goes off and plays all the way through. If I send an email, as soon as I hit send button, the song goes off and plays all the way through. Nothing I have tried seems to work.I have checked all my ringtone and contact settings. I have deleted the ringtone/song from my ringtone file and deleted the few messages and emails on phone where I forwarded it to myself or a family member. Putting the phone on silent doesn't seem to work. Once the song starts, I cannot stop it until it plays all 30 seconds. Anyway, I still have the same problem and the song will not quit playing. So, I think you can see my dilemma. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix this problem? I thought maybe it had a virus, but no one that I know who has the ringtone has the same problem as me. I did recently install a new update/upgrade of the Blackberry operating system. Do you think it is a problem with the update?

Nov 19, 2012I have a US ATT White Lumia 920. Here are the steps to replicate the problem:
1. Switch phone to vibrate only: Press the volume rocker and hit the bell on top right to switch the phone in to vibrate only mode. 2. Play music on phone: Plugin headphones or play music on the phone speaker through any music app. 3. Call your phone from another phone.
Expected Behavior: As with any phone when you play music on the phone and get a call, the phone should pause/stop the music and play your ringtone/ caller tone. After the call has ended the music should continue.
Issue/Bug: The phone does not pause/stop the playing music when a call comes. However the phone does vibrate. This is a problem and has lead to missed calls when the phone is in my jacket pocket or bag where the vibration cannot be felt.

1- Change the ringing tone to some mp3
2- Edit a contact to have a name like
3- Let that contact call you
The phone rings with the default tone (not the mp3 it was set to). The only way I found to correct it is to revert to more humanly names in contact list. This will be more annoying for people who save their friends with IM nicknames that contain lots of special characters.

Mar 1, 2010I have about 1000 sound files on my phone's memory card.When I'll try to set personal ringtone it shows me all 1000 audio files + videos in the list, without any folder hierarchy. Why I just can't select my file in the phone with file browser-line interface? May be it will be good idea to show only files from phone memory not from the storage card. Or, maybe, I should see files only in special named directories like /Sounds/Ringtone or /Sounds/Simple
