I have a mini pro SK171 with android 4.0.4 Recently (after an android update?) I started experiencing this problem: there seems to be no communication between The PC (with Vista as the operative system) and my mobile. Earlier as soon I connected the mobile it was immediately recognized, now nothing. If I in the mini pro go to "connection sharing and hotspot" the USB option to select the sharing via usb cable is inactivated (it can't be selected), and it says: "no USB is connected (this despite the cable is connected and is actually charging the mobile phone from the PC.
Ok, so I still have the songs I had b4 I've downloaded the 2.1 OS; when I look into the X10 Mini, the "AVAILABLE ROOM" seems to have gotten bigger; but I also have many times in which the phone says: "no SD card found" or"no available storage" and such, regardless all my songs are there(not sure where!), and the "SD and storage" still shows the amount of memory like - Total room: 3.67GB and Available room: 3.11GB; considering I only had about 1.70GB left pryor to the 2.1 OS update!!!
I follow all the steps to make my iPhone recognized on iTunes. But it is not recognized on Windows 7. It don't appears on My Computer, and it does not ask for install driver when I plug it in.
I just bought this phone Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. First of all, there was no CD for installing softwares however i got the PC companion software from the internet
but the main problem is that when I attach my phone to my laptop (windows 7) using the USB provided, i get a msg saying:
"USB Device Not Recognized
One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows cannot recognize it."
My Xperia X10 mini isn't recognising my SD card all of a sudden. It's the original SD card that came with the phone and I've also bought and tried a brand new Sandisk SD card, but still no look. Message is ''Removed SD card' even when card is mounted. Can't format the card as it's not mounted, tried formatting via PC too but again PC won't recognise either new or original SD card. Can't run phone updates as need a memory card to do that too
So I'm working on my XPeria Z2 when 2 weeks ago the headphones stopted working. I have tried everything but nothing works. So I have just installed an app so I have to select the audio output myself all the time. I tried this morning a last solution => repair with the Companion software from Sony itself (I wish I had never done that!!!!)  After the companion software downloaded the files, shutdown my phone he asked the plug it back it while holding the volume btn down (Flashmode). When I tried this nothing happend, phone didn't turn on and setup on the pc did not continue. So I just hit cancel. Than thinks get from bad to worse. Now no pc on earth is detecting my phone anymore when plugged in. As well, I do not get the charge symbol anymore. It's like the phone is not connected to anything.  I aswell tried to boot into flashmode myself but I just get a rapid RED and GREEN led and then nothing. The only think that is working is to start in Bootloader modus (Yes, I have unlocked the bootloader modus because of the error with the headphone jack
I bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia Play from the Sony Store in Erin Mills on September 18th, 2012. It was in good condition, but I recently got it unlocked. Upon receiving my unlocked Play, I noticed that the SD card isn't mounted. I tried numerous times resetting the phone and trying to see what was wrong but I can't seem to fix it. My SD card works when I insert it into my PC, and it still has all the files. I even tried other SD cards and it still couldn't mount.
I'm really hoping someone can help me. My phone will not connect to my pc when trying to update using sony ericsson pc companion.I have been unable to update it with the last two updates and in my desperation last night to make my phone work I have backed up using my backup after reading that the sony ericsson backup app won't work after the update, and then restored factory settings. It hasn't fixed it. It still won't work.
I should also add that I have tried this on 3 computers and they have all said the usb device is not recognized. It is clearly my phone. It has very recently been having problems charging in all chargers however this problem has been going on for a lot longer! This is driving me insane. Before this I loved my phone, despite the many faults!!
2 days ago i did the 2.3 update on my phone, since the upgrade my phone refuses to recognise the sim card in my phone. Also if i try to connect my phone to pc vis usb cable it says 'please insert memory card and reinsert usb' tried this maybe 10 times nothing. So my question is how the **** do i get the phone to recognise that there is a memory card in it? I don't need the SD card for contacts etc as they've all been synced just really want my photos/music back & be able to use my camera again.
Since I got my Xperia ray mobile phone in October 2011 I have been using the MTP mode with Media Go with no problems! Automatically backing up photos and syncing new music, brilliant! I came back from holiday two weeks ago with new photos taken with my phone camera so I connected it to my computer to import them. I was shocked to see that Media Go didn't start to automatically import the photos like it normally would and that it thought there was no pictures on the memory card, videos or even music! Empty?
Curiously it showed there was still 4.55GB of used space (I remembered this was roughly how much space I have used with pictures and videos and music), I decided to explore the folders using windows explorer (still in MTP mode) and again to my horrer the pictures, video and music folders appear empty! I even checked hidden file options but this did not work. On the mobile itself I could still see the files so I knew they had not been deleted. I then tried the MSC mode to connect my phone to my computer and this worked, the files Media Go had thought missing were all where they should be, however Media Go and all my files are no longer synced with my computer.
I can make calls ok and send and receive text. I have my voice mail set up but when I receive calls if I miss the call it does not go to voice mail and the caller get a message saying the number is not recognized. This is a phone problem or a network problem only had this since I have had my X10.
I've just received a Xperia Z5 E6653 (build number : 32.0.A.6.200). IÂ tried to use a MicroSD card that I had in my previous phone, but it seems not to be recognized, whereas it is in an Xperia Z3 compact.
Going to Settings > Storage, both SD card options are greyed.
Already tried : - Rebooting the phone - 4 different cards, formatted as exFat or Fat32 - Restoring default settings
I used to copy anything to my ext sd of 64 gb. Now, after upgrading to lollipop, it happens that it just disappears and it's not recognized. So I have to use the android tool to erase and copy files again. This happens very often. What can I do?
My 4 month old Xperia Z2 has always worked fine until today. It was connected to my Mac computer, and I was asked to update Sony bridge for MAC. After about 10 mins it said Update Failed on the computer. I disconnected the phone, but now the phone wont turn on - all I get is an error message saying "Software update failed, make sure that your phone is connected to the computer and try again"
However when I connect it, the device isnt recognised.
I cant switch the phone off or on, all thats happening is a continuous loop of red light and then the error message (it's on charge at the moment)....
I am using Xperia Mini Pro nd had updated my phn till version 4.0.2.A.0.58 via phone only but this time the new version 4.0.2.A.0.62 can not be updated directly via phone its says to use PC COMPANION, while using PC COMPANION and selcting the update process its prompting to stop WINIT process to start downloading the update.

Recently i update sony xperia mini to android 4.0 battery backup is worst i charged battery full a night at morning it shows 81% battery i a have turned of wifi, gps, data brightness 25% which app can give better battery backup
a few days ago I bought my SE X10 mini pro.I now have a problem with my battery. A few hours ago, my battery level was around 35% A few hours later, it remained at 35% indication.Since this couldn't be correct, i restarted the phone. Now, my battery indication was 100%. False again.I turned the phone off. It wouldn't restart.I tried the 'flash device method' by holding back button and putting in computer USB. No help.I tried SEUS. After that, phone switched back on, with false battery indication back to 100%, which is impossible.I noticed that during all this 'fun stuff', my battery refuses to charge. The LED indicator remains green without flashing, the settings screen doesnt say 'charging'. I know that the phone won't charge below 95% battery. So, the phone thinks the battery is 100%, therefore won't charge, and I'm pretty screwed, especially since I fear that once my battery drops dead, the phone won't be able to charge ever since it will think its 100% full...
I've been having problems with my phone recently, it doesn't recieve some text messages or show my missed calls. A friend suggested that it may just need updating, which made sense because I'd been getting update notifications, just hadn't got round to hooking my ohone up to my laptop. So I did just that and installed the 'companion' but when I try to update, it's asking me to insert a memory card. I've never taken it out! Not once. So i've turned the phone off and on again, as you do.
I just updated my Xperia Mini Pro, but after the update, a) new text messages appear at the bottom of the list of texts (so annoying!) and b) the newest text message does not appear on the list when I reply to it.Is this a bug? I really don't think it's a feature.
I have looked online everywhere for a replacement battery and am unable to find one! Can you please direct me in the correct direction, and the battery required is as on the url supplied [URL] 3.7V 950 mAh Li-Polymer battery Measuring 40 x 35 x 5.5 mm and weighing in at a scant 18 grams?way of China or EU as it has already been four weeks that my battery crashed and would only work if plugged in continuously and now just does not work full stop!
Just wanted to share my experience. I did the update on November 8. I didn't bother to do the backup. The only real important is the contacts and Google have them already. I used the Update Service tool and it worked like a charm. After restarting the phone I had to go through the setup wizard, which by the way is much improved. I now realized that I had lost all my downloaded applications. I downloaded them again from market. Most of them had all the old data, nice. Some games lost all history, no big deal really. My contacts, mail and calendar was downloaded from Google.
I realy like the fact that it is possible to send contacts by SMS. The images from facebook also works very well.
The one thing that I am still not used to is the unlooking. The habbit of pressing the menu button twice is had to kick. I think the new way with the slider is somewhat safer. Now I am waiting 2.2 with tethering. I hope this will be available for X10 mini some time in the future.
I have searched long and hard for an answer to this - perhaps it is obvious to everyone else.I want to put a larger sd card in and X10 mini. Is this the correct way?
1 select sd card in settings on the X10 then select unmount sd card.2 take out the card with the phone still switched on since I can't remove the battery there is no obvious way to depower it
3 put card in my pc's card reader and copy its contents to a folder on the pc (using copy and paste?), I have seen some mention of hidden files - is there any trick here?
4 put the new sd card in the pc and copy the stored contents onto it
5 put the card into the X10
6 what now - how do I get the x10 to accept the new card?
I'm just got an Xperia X10 mini pro, and I have a probably dumb question on how to use it: I can't seem to dial anything once I'm in a call
If I am calling a customer service line, or my voicemail, I need to enter keypad entries. However once the call begins there is nothing I can do to be able to press anything, unless I pop the keyboard out and back in again. I understand there is a proximity sensor but head isn't that big. Am I doing something wrong? I just updated the OS to the latest version of Android 2.1
