Jun 4, 2014Today I received a second-hand iphone 3GS to replace a 4s which I lost.
Upon receipt, the phone displayed an image of a usb connector and an itunes logo suggesting that I need to connect to itunes before use.Â
When I attach the phone to a toshiba satellite C50 laptop it connects and immediately disconnects with an audible tone. This connect/disconnect cycle repeats every second or so and never ends.Â
If I connect the phone whilst powered down, hold the power button and home button together for 10 secs and then hold the home button only to enter restore mode, the phone connects to itunes and I get the option to restore. However, the restore always fails.Â
I have tried connecting using two seperate USB cables - I am not sure if either is genuine. There is no effect.Â
I have tried disabling USB controllers individually within device manager. There is no effect.Â
I have tried different USB ports/ There is no effect.Â
While connected, the phone appears in the device manager intermittently, appearing and disappearing as the phone connects/disconnects.Â
The laptop is running windows 8.Â

Mar 12, 2015I have successfully paired my z3 to my laptop and once I connect wirelessly everything is fine and I can use my laptop to view all the files on my phone. Â However the connecting does not keep, especially if i try to move items from one folder to another, it simply disconnects and doesnt reconnect unless I do it manually.

This is preventing me from doing anything that MTP has to offer so it is actually a pretty useless application for me.

I have made sure my phone doesnt go idle during this time so it's not that.

Aug 25, 2015When I am streaming a music on my XPERIA Z2 Â phone using THROW option onto my HP laptop, immediately xperia z2 bluetooth player pops up in my laptop showing progress of music but sound does not come from the player that is frustrating because everything with this throw option is ok except this sound issue.
I thought there might be some issue with my laptop so I tried my phone THROW option with other laptop also, there also  the  same problem is occurring. Other android phones like Lenovo, MI1s, even they do not have this THROW option, this problem is not occurring when I am streaming music from these phone onto my Laptop having simply turned on bluetooth in these phones.

I've downloaded the lastest iTunes and tried to reinstall. All my USB ports work fine with other USB devices. The laptop makes the doo doo connection noise when plugged in so it's connecting somewhere. I have an iPhone 4 and a Advent Laptop with Windows 7.

Aug 20, 2014I've been having issues trying to connect my iPhone 5 (updated to the latest software version 7.1.2) to my HP laptop, it makes the little usb noise when it is plugged in, but the phone won't charge and it isn't visible on iTunes or 'my computer.' Im 100% sure its nothing to do with my USB cable as i have more than one genuine Apple lighting cables, I've plugged my mothers iPhone 5 to my laptop which is also updated to the latest version and it connects, charges and also shows up on iTunes. I have tried connecting my iPhone to other laptops (sister's HP laptop, dad's PC) and it works perfectly fine (charges, syncs to iTunes) so im sure its not my handset. I have updated my laptop's software and iTunes and i've checked that all of my USB ports are working fine. Â
p.s. I had another iPhone 5 which i lost and had the same problem.

May 30, 2012For a few days now my iPhone 4 is not connecting properly to my laptop. I purchased this laptop back in January and for the past 5 months it has worked fine connecting to the laptop and syncing with my itunes. Now all of a sudden the iPhone will not connect to itunes or the laptop at all. I have tried restarting the ihpone, using different usb ports, tried different cables, restarted the laptop, reinstalled itunes several times and even checked if it was a different software that was the problem.
