I've been loving the 5.1.1 update but the messaging app has been a mixed bag, I've seen others complaining about the greyed out texts with timestamp and it's great group chats work now, but the problem I have been having is that the group chat messages don't come through about 80% of the time, I got a message of "you have a multimedia message ready to be downloaded" then when I try to download it I get a failure message.
any apps that allow the photo-LED light to actually "flash" or "snap" if you will when you're taking a photo at night as apposed to going deep into the options menu and activating the photo-light which stays on and blinds the shyte out of your subjects? Its the only feature that would make the camera perfect in my opinion.
Will apps such as Skype be able to utilize the functions of the cameras for video calling? I am getting the iPhone 4 and my dad and uncle have Skype and we video chat all the time. So will apps like this be able to use the cameras in development? Discuss.
What I really find surprising, rather shocking is when most of the earlier phones released quite before the N900 are 3G enabled phone why is the N900 not a 3G ready phone ? or is it ?is N900 a 3G phone, Can one make Video calls with the N900, I just read somewhere with the front VGA camera it has, Video calls would be possible...
I need your help. Im living in UAE and when ever i try to reach ovi store from n900 it says it not ready yet!! Is it the case? cuz i have been trying to reach ovi store for quite sometime and it says the same again and again. Secondly my Maps are not functioning at all. It cannot locate the GPS . It keep on saying trying to locate GPS even thought the GPS is enable from the device. Im having a tough time with this device.
I got my adapter today in the mail and already cut my SIM down ready to go. Works great with the adapter back into my 2G! The real test will be making sure it works in the iPhone 4, but I have no doubt it'll work just great.
[URL]Another interesting news item from Droid-Life. DX2 GB update apparently passed the SOAK test and will be rolling out with latest version of Blur, same as D3. Will we get similar treatment for the DX in the near future?
I'm a crackberry addict with a lovely Bold 9700 via AT&T. My girlfriend is also on AT&T, but she can't get the data package that AT&T now requires for all PDAs (including BlackBerries). However, our anniversary is coming up. And I'd LOVE to get her a BlackBerry Curve 8310 (her best friend has one and she LOVES it). If I purchase an unlocked one via eBay, will AT&T still slap a data plan onto her account once she inserts her SIM card and begins to use the phone? She actually has the internet blocked on her phone, so it can't access it even if she tries...but I've read where AT&T's system will begin charging once it recognizes a BlackBerry IMEI number - even if the phone is unlocked. Is this true, or will an unlocked Curve be ready for her to use?
I know BlackBerries are great devices and really meant for full use, but she really admires the keyboard's layout, the camera, and the look and function of the OS. So, I'd really like to get her a Cuve and introduce her to the BlackBerry world.
When I go to settings to check for a software update, i frequently get a "DM not ready, SIM Card not detected" error. if I close the software update screen and re enter it works fine. Never seen that one before
I have a Nokia C3-01 touch and type phone that I dropped this morning and ever since then I keep getting the error message "message storage memory not ready" when i try and go to my text messages. I have removed the memory card and done a software, hardware reset and a full phone reset and still doing the same thing.I have also check to see if there is a software update which there isn't.I can still make and receive calls its just the messaging i cant do.
Seems that they closed whatever they were using to allow syncing by wifi. The device shows its "Ready to Sync" and the status bar on top shows its connected but the phone never shows up in iTunes.I am sure it's nothing more than a software update, but if you use it religiously, you might want to hold off.
A friend is having troubles with his Z3 : He used to take pictures with the quick camera launch button, but since a recent camera or system update, when he use this button, the camera is set to automatic mode instead of manual, with poor resolution and quality settings. If he launches the camera with the standard button from the phone menu, everything is fine and perfectly set up.
When the camera is used from the quick button and set back to the correct quality settings and manual mode, after closing it, it goes back to auto mode with bad settings. Same thing when he slides the camera icon from the locked screen. The only way to get the proper settings when launching the camera is to use the icon from the phone's menu.
He tried a lot of things, from uninstalling the camera updates to searching everywhere on the internet, there is no information or messages about this problem.
My phone frequently returns a message "Error! Camera not Available!" when opening any application which uses a camera. This happens specially when the applicatons that scan barcodes are used ("AT&T Code Scanner", "OK Scan"), but not exclusively. Among the apps bringing the camera to a crash there are some of good reputation, like for example "Perfectly Clear". In the emergency mode the camera works OK.
The issue is the same as in this thread for Z1, however it disappoints me that the same happens in Z3 which is so much newer.
The support advised me to clear the data for the camera (Applications menu) and restart the phone. No dice, so they advised to reset the phone to factory defaults. I did it twice, due to after the first time I found exactly which apps caused the problem. It took me a day to restore everything to the original state .
Afterwards, the camera was stuck by "Perfectly Clear", a decent app written by a "Best programmer". I was depressed.
However, there is a solution: simply clearing all the apps running in the background (["three permanent keys in the bottom" | "two rectangles" | clear all], or [an icon with a green brush]). This works without a restart.
I am trying to help someone that has his 2610 stuck with a "Message memory not ready" error. When checking the size of the messages , it says 945 KB occupied, 83 KB of total free memory. I did already a "reset to factory defaults", but still, these SMS are still there. I really want to delete those. What can i do?
I've had my 8330 Curve with Verizon since November 2008. Very happy with it. I also happen to still be using OS 4.3.0.127 (202), which is what the unit came loaded with. I never bothered upgrading because I would always hear of people having issues or DM only backing up your contacts and not your apps, lower music volume, etc. I don't really need Docs To Go, but HTML e-mail would be nice and the biggest thing is trying to improve these BBM delays I constantly get when trying to send a message. I'm thinking an upgrade to the latest BBM might help change that.
Of course, in order to do that, I need to upgrade to 4.5. So I've decided to do it, but not before I ask for feedback here. I've scanned dozens of other threads here, all with varying opinions. It's been long enough. Is it wise to do this and, if so, what is the latest OS for VZW (is it .138)? What risks am I really running here? Need a reality check on this.
bought Nokia Asha 200 4 days ago. Everything was fine until I've used the second sim card. After that I was not able to open my contacts. Whenever I tried to open the contacts it says "Contacts not ready". I've restart the phone and everything goes fine until I used the second sim card for making call again.I update the firmware via Nokia software updater but the problem as not solved. I tried a hard reset but the problem not solved. search the web for solving the problem but there was not any solution. Even some Indian guys has tried the Nokia care but they was not able to fix this problem either.
It seems that some cellular associates are telling customers that the Electrify is 4g ready and will be able to be updated, when US Cellular launches 4g. The general consensus is that this cannot be possible.
I'm having issues with the camera function on the M8 in certain apps. For example, I cannot use the mobile apps for either my banks to deposit mobile checks because the camera will not focus on the check images and the pictures are too blurry to be accepted. I also have similar issues when using a couple of different shopping rebate apps (where you have to take pictures of bar codes and/or receipts).
I am looking for a decent camera app for the Atrix. I am interested in any feedback or reccomendations other Atrix users can provide, about which camear app works best with this particular phone.
Every time I want to use the Camera on my curve it says (could not start the camera. Close other applications and try opening the Camera again)? How do I fix this as I am not aware of other app running?
When trying to select my camera, my phone comes up with a black screen then a warning message saying "Could not start the camera, Close all other applications and try opening the camera again". I have gone thru every thing on my phone to make sure there is nothing open or running and cannot find anything.
I have also taken the battery out and started the phone up again. This has happened in the past, it stayed like this for a couple of weeks then all of a sudden one day it just worked, not sure what happened or why, but it would be great to have a quick fix solution to this problem.
Looking for a camera app for LG G3 that has one finger zoom and (ideally) tap-anywhere to snap. My Moto X camera had these features, and they make one handed control (especially when making hurried shots!) SO much easier.
