Unfortunately I cracked the screen on my Z3 (gutted) and although I can see everything, the swipe facility no longer works at all. I backed up all my information to my laptop and transferred all my photos off through PC companion, and I just about managed to power down the phone. The thing is I have an offer on the table for spares or repair, but due to the swipe facilty not working I cant do a normal factory reset.

I have run the repair from the computer through the Sony pc companion, reset to factory default and ran the manual restart by pressing down the yellow button next to the micro sim but still lags.

I also have disabled the MyXperia functionalities and I use a two steps authentication for my Google account what makes almost impossible to have someone reseting it through any of these methods unless it is me.
After factory reset neo l is not showing the 380Mb of internal storage instead showing 256Mb, i also updated to ics build 4.1.b.0.626

And the Second time Auto Factory Reset, I picked it to Sony Service Center did the software repair.
Today the third time Auto Factory Reset, I lift it to Sony Service Center for few days checking.
My new Sony Xperia Z5 was auto Reset to Factory setting without any notification.

Because my phone was quite spoiled during the time, i decided to do a factory reset. I connected my Z3 (5.1.1. / / 23.4.A.0.546) to the PC (Win10) and resetted the device by using PC Companion.
The reset took some time, and, because i wanted to restart all over again, i decided to manually restore the app-collection (so i turned off the auto-restore option in my google-account).
I've been busy with this during the day, and last night I turned my phone off and connected it to the powercharger.
after completing factory reset the phone can not find any signal on both sim cards (different operators). Before the reset both networks ware working properly.

What was done so far:
- factory reset three more times
- software update
- repair phone using Sony PC Companion
- checked with another sim card (another operator) - still no service
- trying to switch on/off airplane mode in every menu location available
- After trying to manually find service provider, phone goes to search mode and stays in it not finding any

After switching on the phone or switching off the airplane mode the phone seems to need more time than before (around 1 min) to find the SIM cards. After the sim card is found stays without network.
I have just updated my Xperia 8 to 2.1 (eventually, because I use a Mac ) and can now no longer get the phone to connect to my home internet which it was happily doing untl that point. (Backed everything up & successfully restored all my other info / settings)I have reset the modem to factory settings, rebooted all the various equipment which all reconnected with the code. I type in the same code into the phone & it tells me that the code is incorrect & then that WiFi is 'disconnected'. So far, I have not been able to get to any access points for other free WiFi, so dont know if this is a general fault.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI used the factory reset option in my Sony Xperia Z3 and the process is never ending it keeps in the android logo doing the factory reset and it has been like that for like 4 hours now. it should take only 5 minutes but I dunno what is happening.I waited the process to end for 4 hours and after nothing else happened I decided to unplug the charger and wait for it to run out of battery. Then I turned it on again and nothing changed, it went back to the factory reset process with the android logo.

Then I tried pressing the hard reset button located where the 64 GB SD Card is, and still nothing after turning it on again. Once again the cell phone restarted the factory reset process and right now another four horus passed and nothing.

The phone is heating so I am using a laptop cooler to cool the phone and avoid the heating process that is caused by the factory reset process.I still havent tried to remove the SD card.and tried to restart the process.
I want to restore factory settings as my Xeperia Mini is really slow, etc, at the moment, but don't want to do this if the Backup I've made won't get restored after the factory reset.
Can I restore the backup after I've done a factory reset it will it have been deleted in the factory reset process?

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhile playing a game on my phone yesterday the screen flashed/blinked for a moment, then turned and remained a blackish blue color. While in this state nothing on the phone was functional, I could hold the power button until I was blue in the face and it wouldn't power off the device. At this point I opened the cover for the micro SD card and SIM card and pressed the yellow power off button.
After holding down the yellow off button for several seconds and feeling the three vibrations I set the phone down and left it for 5 minutes. When I powered device backup it had the same black blue screen. I repeated these steps several times all with the same outcome. At this point I'm pretty frustrated and attempted to boot into recovery to no avail, finally deciding to simply do a factory reset which didn't work either.
it comes to black screen and have no reaction when i touch the screen, but iinstalled some camera application , i still works with those apps,but the quality is not good as default camera app.

From Sony PC Companion i can't do nothing because i must unlock the phone.
From Flashtool i can't do nothing because i have USB Debug Mode set to OFF and i can't enable it if i can't unlock the smartphone. Otherwise if I can set the phone in Flashmode or Fastboot Mode.
the screen won't swipe to unlock. How to fix? Can I hard reset? I bought this 5C used from Swappa about 2 months ago. was advertised as "New Screen" - and the screen did look new. Worked great, everything was fine till a few days ago. Now the screen will not rregister the swipe to unlock. I have rebooted the phone by holding the top power button and home button. Phone boots ok, shows messages on lock screen, alarms go off, seems normal, except, the swipe will not swipe. it acts like you are not touching it. Also, about the same time the swipe stopped working , the screen started showing vertical banding..My thought are maybe one of two issues -
1 my son downloaded a bad app, and it locked the phone up. factory wipe should fix this. But itunes won't let me restore the phone unless I turn off "Find my Iphone", which requires I unlock the phone... dead end.Â
2 - I am also think, because of the banding, the "new" screen may be bad. Sound plausible? Â
