My wife has a Z3, and this week all her photos (set to save to SD card) suddenyl appeared on internal memory as well as duplicates. I assumed it was a OneDrive sync anomly so moved them all off. Then, yesterday some video files that are on our desktop PC (not in a OneDrive folder) suddenly appeared on the Z3 internal memory. The only sync client installed is OneDrive - also Sony PC companion..

Of course I can not transfer these "phantom" files to the PC, but I also don't see the new files and folders that I have created recently and am looking for. Refreshing the window doesn't work.

Today I got the phone and have been transferring stuff of my own e.g. photos, mp3s etc using windows explorer. When I transfer them to a new folder on the memory card I get weird garbled looking files as well appearing in the folder.
I have tried: Formatting the memory card. Deleting the folder (which I have to do by switching the phone of and back on first as it says it cant delete as there are files in). Adding a new folder same thing happens. I can upload a picture if it helps.
I didn't realize that I selected the desktop to restore my phone until too late.Now I lost the lock icon to lock the phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I had an older Curve, and now I have a brand new Curve 3g. The older phone has malfunctioned, and I can't use the keypad, but it still recongizes the software when plugged in, and i can charge it - this is why the data couldn't be transfered from my old phone to the new one at the Verizon store. So, I want all the contacts, my to-do lists/memopads, etc transfered into the new phone using Blackberry Manager on my PC (Vista). So i selected the 'Device Transfer Wizard" from the main menu, and followed instructions - i get an error message that tells me, basically, I "need to remove some applications from my existing device because there is not enough space on the new device to accomodate them:" I don't get this - the new phone has 256mb memory compared to 32mb in the old phone, and I don't even have apps on there except facebook (I tried to delete my apps on the old phone and all it showed me as having was Facebook.So, I tried un-checking various boxes on the screen that asks what i want to transfer, and even with them all un-checked it still tells me there is not enough room to transfer.Am I doing this wrong? i just want my contacts and to-do lists transfered to the new phone - I don't know what this thing about the "applications" and such is about but I just want my data transfered.I will say that the Blackberry Manager application that I have is very slow, non-intuitive, and generally a huge pain in the **bleep** to work with - I would think that a slick tech company like Blackberry would have a far better program than this "Blackberry Manager".. I am impressed with the Blackberry phones but dread using that Blackberry Manager every time I need to (such as when putting anew ringtone on my phone).

I do not want to use a cloud service or anything just my computer. they seem to transfer fine to my older laptop running windows vista, but using win7 only the first 127kb of the file transfer over. I even tried transferring my pics over to my win7 computer to back them up and they all appeared grayed out. but I transferred my pics to my windows vista computer and they were fine, so it seems to be a win7 issue. I do not understand what it could be. but I really want to transfer my stuff to my win7 desktop computer and not my old win vista laptop.

However, the files are still on my Xperia Z3 SD card, and play fine, but I can't trasfer them from there back to my PC... it is weird! About the “Internal Storage” folder on my phone. I noticed that when I take a picture using the phone’s camera, it automatically puts the picture in a folder called, “Camera.” I can see this folder when I open the “File Commander” on my phone, and I can view the picture this way. Also, I can view this picture by opening up the “Album” on my phone.
I noticed that when I open File Commander, I can also get to a bunch of folders under “Internal Storage.” I can create sub folders in this folder and move my pictures here, if I want to. If I move a picture to this location, it is no longer viewable by opening, “The Album.” But who cares. Not a big deal, as I can always just open the File Commander if I want to see my pictures.
Next – I connected my phone to my PC running Windows 7 and noticed that all the folders are recognized and show in windows explorer EXCEPT the “Internal Storage” folder.
My question is WHERE should I store my pics and videos and other files on my phone so that if the Android operating system were to fail and I had to reinstall it, the files would not disappear? If I make a file system under “Internal Storage” and save my files there, will the files be gone if the operating system has to be reinstalled or if I upgrade to a later version of the OS?
My E7 did this when I first got it but after some time I managed to make the videos not appear in the Photos Application but can't remember how.
How do I stop videos appearing in the Photos Application?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI received my Torch due to my work, an evaluation unit given away by RIM in my region (finally a freebie after 11 years of covering the telecom sector!). I notice that the Documents to Go section has 100s of pdfs - about service level agreements and warranties in various countries. Some are as big as 5MB, so I want to delete them. (I'm guessing there are 200 - it takes 21 swipes of my finger to scroll down to the bottom of the list)
Trouble is.. when I connect to BBerry Desktop I can't find these files anywhere! Documents to Go shows up as empty.
On the device, when I click on Docs to Go this opens up as 'all files', with a folder icon saying Browse, and all these pdfs listed below that. 'Browse' leads to the folder groupings for camera, audiobooks, docs, music, etc. and the pdfs do not appear to be inside any of those.
So my only option is to delete each pdf one by one? On the handset is there some way to 'select' bunches of them and delete all at a time? I thought maybe I could do this using Windows Explorer, but whenever I click on the Flash Drive icon that represents the Torch memory I can't get in to see what's there (it says something like 'insert the disk you wish to view with this drive')
I have got major problem with SD card usage. To cut the story short, it is not usable! Nothing can be copied or moved to sd card, all files got deleted as soon as I restart the device. Curently, I am running Lollipop, but there was the same problem on Kitkat.

That caused the Album app to disappear from the app drawr. Since then, she updated Album (com.sonyericsson.album) from the Play Store, and that caused the Album icon to reappear in the app drawr. However, something is wrong with how media is handled by the phone now:

The problem began when I tried to delete them and I found out that the delete option is unavailable due to syncing them onto my phone and what's worse is that the original files are gone.
