Xperia Z2 :: Camera Button Does Not Work In Every Mode?
Oct 14, 2014I've bought my Xperia Z2 few days ago and have strange issue - my camera button doesn't work in every mode. I can open camera app by holding button but can't take any picture in auto mode. Button works in 4K video, Timeshift video, AR effects, Timeshift burst mode. I didn't check Vine, info-eye and social live modes only. I can take pictures by touching the screen button in every mode.

Mar 23, 2012I'm with an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1.
Since I upgraded to 5.1, I encounter the above mentioned problem. On tapping the camera icon on the locked iPhone screen, I can't launch the built-in camera. Nothing happens. (I must unlock the iPhone and tap the camera icon in order to take a picture).
1. I didn't have this problem after upgrading to iOS 5.0
2. I can still access the music buttons on the locked screen on iOS 5.1 though.
Xperia Z3 :: Quick Camera Button Sets The Camera In Automatic Settings
May 16, 2015A friend is having troubles with his Z3 : He used to take pictures with the quick camera launch button, but since a recent camera or system update, when he use this button, the camera is set to automatic mode instead of manual, with poor resolution and quality settings. If he launches the camera with the standard button from the phone menu, everything is fine and perfectly set up.
When the camera is used from the quick button and set back to the correct quality settings and manual mode, after closing it, it goes back to auto mode with bad settings. Same thing when he slides the camera icon from the locked screen. The only way to get the proper settings when launching the camera is to use the icon from the phone's menu.
He tried a lot of things, from uninstalling the camera updates to searching everywhere on the internet, there is no information or messages about this problem.

Nov 28, 2015I keep having issues with my camera button. I'm not sure if it's a hardware or software issue, but whenever I press the button to take a picture, I end up with a short 2-3 second video instead. The setting for "hold camera button" is disabled, not det to photo bursts or video. The camera icon on screen works fine, but having a dedicated camera button was a huge game changer for me.

Jan 14, 2015it's just a 1 month since I purchased z3, but after an update my camera button not responding. Did a factory reset but still not working. Initially it worked. Now if I click during camera mode, just a flash comes on first click and on second long click it does nothing. Really upset and never expected this from Sony. I hope developers r reading this.

Sep 6, 2012only got the phone a week or so ago. Just goes to show how often I do use the camera button. Although I might not use it all the time, I would still like the button to work. Especially if I want to take pictures on the rain or underwater.
So basically the camera button does not take the picture but it does focus. Also camera does not open when you press the button.

Jun 22, 2011It has suddenly decided to not respond to the back button for no apparent reason. Sometimes it suddenly starts working again after a restart and then works repeatedly untill untill the phone is left idle. Then the next time i pick the phone up it won't work again. The button itself feels no different to normall and has a positive click feel to its operation but i have noticed that when the phone is left on standby it suddenly starts illuminating the main screen repeatedly for no reason and i think the back button may be stopping from working after this happens, however i have not yet had it do this consistently to be sure yet. I have done a master reset, removed battery, software update (hard to do with intermitant back button btw) but all to no avail. All i have managed to achive is losing a load of my contacts actual numbers on SE's crappy sync service (contacts still listed but numbers gone and not in trash?)

Jan 2, 2011My wife's x10 mini is having issue with it's camera button or icon. Whenever the camera icon is tapped or camera button is pressed, it will turn off the phone. After the manually turning On the phone again, it will work again including the camera icon or button. But, after a while, it will be like that again, especially when the camera is not used for a while. The phone have been updated with latest software using SE PC Companion. I even tried to use repair to update it again. Same problem.

Camera worked for a while without problems, but recently I moved the camera icon in one of the corners.
After that, the camera button (after the focusing position, when pressed till the end) just turns the main menu on without taking the picture. However, camera works sometimes without problems (one in five attempts). I reinstalled the software using SEUS, but the problems still persists.

Aug 4, 2014Just updated my phone to 5.1, when pressing the shutter button for quick way to take pictures, it now takes 30seconds for camera to come on screen then flickers and won't take a picture. Is there anyway I can reverse this upgrade as it has not improved anything on my phone, it is still very hard to hear when ringing or playing music and now I can't take pictures correctly.

Jul 3, 2010I'm positive this has been brought up before, the camera button is only able to load up in auto superior mode which is great for basic quick camera needs but for users who want to use the camera to its full potential (20.7 MP) you need to shoot in manual mode. It seems like a simple addition to the camera which would allow everyone to use the camera app how they prefer. Is there a fix coming for this, is there a setting I'm missing? Seems silly to put a good camera in a phone and have it so inaccessible.

Jan 8, 2015I was at a party and used my phone for a few minutes 4 hours ago and there was no problem. Battery was 78%. After a while I realized my phone was not turning on. After coming back home I connected it to the wall charger and the light is blinking red. When I hold the start button there is a red light constantly but it won't turn on. Holding volume up and start button also doesn't work and there is no vibration. I tried the yellow reset button near the SIM tray and that didn't work either. My phone had a 16 GB built in memory which was pretty used up (It kept telling me transfer to SD card since memory was above 75%). I was going to buy a microSD card for it but now this happened. Is there something I can do to fix my phone?
